How to Reference and Use OSCOLA (A Snapshot)

Why is referencing so important? Without proper referencing, you could fall foul of the University's Academic Integrity Policy, and you may be met with a finding of Poor Academic Practice or - worse - Academic Misconduct.
This video demonstrates how to insert a footnote in Microsoft Word. Thereafter, it sets out some examples of use of OSCOLA referencing (note: this is NOT an exhaustive list, but is indicative). You need to consider adding a footnote and referencing when you: refer to a case; use a direct quotation from a source; paraphrase a source; present a theory or argument which has been informed or inspired by a source; etc.
It will be important for you to consult your Module Leader or the instructions given in respect of your submission in order to determine whether conformity with OSCOLA will be assessed.
