Recently became a quality manager for my company. I am starting my preparation courses for my 1104 CWI certification. Just discovered your channel. I will go back to the beginning of your videos and absorb your knowledge. Thank you for the information. I can already tell, your information will be a big help. Really like the review forms you have. Iris very well composed.
I agree about what you said. There's always one welder in the comments who thinks they know everything because they welded at 1 or 2 jobs their entire life and only seen a little small piece of the welding industry. And they're so close-minded that they think their way is the only way. Then I see the comments that say things like if you would have done that where I work you would have been fired. Most of them probably don't know anything about a code or a standard. I've never had formal training and don't know the ins and outs
Hi, many thanks from Scotland. I'm involved in welding (ASME, AWS, ISO for SAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW & SAW processes) and know I need to up my knowledge and experience. I refer to weld code and have IWE colleagues etc to bounce off but your videos are great at clarifying things and making the topic much less daunting. Your doing a great job at sharing and presenting. Many Thanks.
Just a note on Interpass Temps, generally, with carbon steel we could use the MIN interpass temp, which is usually the same as preheat temp. For Duplex SS, we use the Maximum intervals, which means the joint must cool to the Maximum allowed intervals temp to prevent excessive heat inputs.
Hi Pro! If I have 2 PQR separate as following: 1. GTAW coupon test thickness is 6 2. FCAW: coupon test thickness is 16 In that case, acc. to ASME Sec IX: Q1: Can I written a combination WPS with supporting from above PQRs? if no, why? Q2: If yes? what are max. base metal thickness range qualified of combination WPS? Pls advice
Thanks for the interesting content. I have on doubt. A company is having old WPS with old company's name . Now company name has been changed. They will have to re-qualify the same old wps or same shall be applicable.
Much appreciation for the great👍 explanation, now i can read it and review it not at the expert level but at least i can interpret it easily than I was before
Question not pertaining this video. I receivedy D1.1 and have done 2 continuity tests, going on my 3rd time. I have moved out of CA. And now living in Yuma Arizona. Can not figure not find a place to do my continuity testing anywhere! Looked in San Diego and Phoenix. All the schools that I have called, are just trying to in roll me back into welding school.
@@Edaloy27 Just got back to Arizona from Pomona CA. Couldn't find anyone to do this continuity testing. I called schools in San Diego and Phoenix Arizona and all they wanted me to do is sign up for welding course. So I had no choice to go to California.

Thank you for the FANTASTIC welding content!!! I believe you are the only channel that does this stuff. Please keep up the great work!!!!
If I would have known about this I would have required all of my students to watch live
Might have to do another one - don't know when - but might have to put it on the schedule.

Garry, well done on this. There is not much quality info available about WPS and this really helped me understand the process.

Great video! Any chance you can provide a copy of the PowerPoint?
Any tips for the part b for the CWI when reviewing WPS & PQR?
Great content! Question can you share your PowerPoint?

Look for an accredited testing facility or a local CWI, they'll get you pointed in the right direction
