*****READ THIS!!!***** I apologize for missing the last note. I made an error in editing when I was finishing up, and the audio wasn't lining up, so I had to cut that last note out. If I hadn't done that, then the entire last few minutes of the video would have been out of sync with the video/audio. I promise I will review her again soon, though! Thank you for watching. :)
Check out her "Rise up" performance. Also on WISH FM. it is good for you to analize. Or maybe her "Never enough".. But her best performance yet is her live performance at "ASIA SONG FESTIVAL 2017"...
Morissette Amon aka "Asia's Phoenix" from the Philippines (Lyric Soprano) is known for a vocal range that spans 5 octaves and 7 notes Currently she has 5.7 octaves and an extensive connected range, allowing her to transition into other registers smoothly. Capable of riffs and runs throughout the voice and holding notes without wavering, her skills suggests good breath control, having reverb, having "Growl" to show passion & inner emotions to the song, vocal fry, Melisma, Crescendos, Amazing Vibrato, Crisp Dynamics, Slide and Sustain, Modulation, Disconnect and overall technique. Known for her "squeaks" and intentional vocal breaks, applies them both when jumping between octaves for artistic effect . She can do BALLAD, POP, RAP, ROCK. She can SING & DANCE at the same time...!
i have seen a lot of Vocal coaches reacting and analyzing Morisette's Akin ka na lang performance . And i must say, YOURS WAS THE BEST. You really break it down and gave us great analysis. ive learned the difference between chest voice and head voice, the nasality being not a bad thing, info about the whistle register and vibrato and more. im so glad i came across your video. really learned a lot. The only LEGIT Vocal Coach in YT that really knows his craft. Thank you so much!!!
New sub! Loved the in-depth analysis vs just a reaction. The more vocal coaches I watch doing analysis on the same videos the more I'm amazed at how different each vocal coach is with their approach to singing technique. Everybody's got the basics down pat though. Your analysis is so far the most technical in nature I've seen.
Nasality sound is old school..since hschool some people do that.. that was 20 years ago wheen i heard about nasality sound..while singing its actually work with some artist in philippines...janno gibbs is one from back then...
Its not yet finished she has whistle in the end. I think you should react on all Morissette performance in Asias Song Festival 2017 & 2018, Wish Bus, MYX Philippines, in ASAP and her own concert. She is 23👑❤🍦
I'm very glad to see you stepping outside of your box and analyzing singers of other genres. I enjoyed your metal stuff, but versatility is more fun for me!
Same here, my favorite genre of music is heavy metal and its subgenre (mostly power, symphonic and progressive metal) but when I came across this girl about 7 months ago, I became addicted to her, she's way better than those popular American singers, Hey! Metalhead also has spot too.
Morissette Amon is one of the best singers the Philippines has ever produced and is definitely among Asia's Pride. Thank you for featuring her on your channel. Subbed because of your reaction to the brilliant Ms. Amon.
Some of those phrases were carried extremely well considering she was sat down and not breathing optimally (I noticed the shoulders go up multiple times). I should be interested to see what she can accomplish stood up and breathing unrestricted.
OH my Goodness!WOW!another! teacher'vocal'coach" impressed this amazing singer' Morissette Amon" D"ASIA'S PHOENIX IS VERY FAMOUS INSIDE & OUTSIDE" AROUND THE WORLD/ Good Work Coach' Zach for ANALYZES/ Pls. *Wow this was an excellent analysis, would also recommend Katrina Velarde "Go the Distance", Pauline Agupitan "I Believe", and KZ Tandingan "Rolling in the Deep".*
You really are a good vocal coach!! The first one I trust when it comes to analysing the voice of the singer. I really want you to teach me, especially since you just said it is better to consult to a vocal coach rather than just getting one sided advices.
Her vocal “squeaks” definitely sounds like a hard yodel with a bit of larynx squeeze. Like a really quick musculature flip from chest to head back to chest during the note change. Her breaks sound on the extreme side though which makes me think that you’re larynx squeezing theory is at least partially correct.
In this review, you allowed for your technical preferences to not interfere with your overall appreciation for the talent. I appreciate how you generally preface a particular technical critique from a long-term health perspective Well done, and a good review.
Oh god! Very interesting analysis as usual, thanks a lot Zach :) Nice to see this video now, after it went MIA earlier today, and I'm glad to see the song is not chopped up. I'm loving all the improvements in your channel! I'd very much like if you'd consider analyzing some of my favorite rock singers someday. They're Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Country Communion), Ray Gillen (Badlands), and Tony Martin (Black Sabbath, or w/Dario Mollo). Anyway, until next time, keep up the good work :)
Thank you! Yeah, believe it or not I have had a MUCH easier time with copyright stuff making pop videos. Metal labels seem to be totalitarian about it for some reason.
@@ZachAnsley you're right, that's a shame. I'm sorry you have to go through all that trouble to analyze those metal singers we love so much, but really *every* kind of content from you is highly appreciated, good pop is welcome too :)
Thanks for this comprehensive analysis of her voice. Please assess her video singing I Want To Know What Love Is performed at MYX Live and Never Enough, Rise Up performed at Wish Bus.
I love Rock and I love Metal. I believe it was the Amy Lee analisis video the first one that I watched on this channel. But I enjoy very much music from all other genres, so I'm loving this new singers you are analizing. Also, I saw in one of your comments that Pop videos aren't that strict with the copyright issues as Metal ones, and because of that you can use complete videos instead of pieces of them, so that's one more thing to celebrate. Great video as always! Looking forward to the next one! See ya!
Its good that u react to this wonderful girl. Her vocal range and techniques are insane. How about Ariana Grande the next? She can whistle as well Ariana Grande - god is a woman - wizard and Oz - dangerous woman - focus - breathing (SWT)
Yet another singer that is pleasant to the ear. Keep up the good work Zach. Also, do you intend to learn other languages outside of the operatic ones(Eng, French, German, Italian) so that you can be better informed of vowel pronunciations?
Good dau sir!! I love how you put to words your analogy... It's very informative... May i asked you to make another video of her singing "resignation"? Thanks and god bless!! 😀😀😄😄
Thank you for your analysis. Her performances at Asian Song Festival (2018/2019) are beautiful too! And i recommend Katrina Velarde "Go the Distance" and Sohyang (Korean), a korean gospel singer, with a wonderful mixed voice with high notes and heavenly head voice :) "Arirang alone, Lean on me", she is a queen of belting!
Thanks for reacting. Although, not much reaction, a lot of instruction. Good mention of the technicalities, but you could do more pointing out the emotion too. Anyway, thanks again and be well. Cheers from the Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
I'd love to see a reaction/analysis of Dimash, he's classically trained from an extremely young age and his main style is often called "popera." He's sung some incredibly difficult and emotional songs, in a bunch of languages, and the first one I'd recommend is live on a world-class singing competition in China called Singer; the first song he performed there as a basically unknown talent is "S.O.S. (d'un terrien en detresse)." The competition was eventually won by Jessie J but I believe he came in second.
Enjoyed your reaction and voice analysis Coach. Morissette is singing "Tagalog" , the national language of the Philippines (English is the 2nd language and medium of instruction). The word "LANG" is pronounced in Tagalog like the English word "LUNG". Hope you won't mind of a little bit of history...The Philippines was colonized by Spain and remained as a colony for 300 years (1565-1898) until 1898 when war broke out between the United States and Spain . When Spain was defeated, the United States acquired all its possessions in the Pacific, including the Philippines. Since then it became a colony of the United States until 1936 when a Commonwealth of the Philippines was establshed with approval by the United States. Full independence was granted to the Philippines in 1946. People of the Philippines have predominantly Spanish names, is the only Catholic country in Asia and some of our native words are in Spanish language or coined from it (courtesy of Spain). From the United States, the Philippines gained the English language, American form of government, school educational system, and almost anything American...Apologize for length of my comment...
Hi Sir if you want to see her again in another great performance try her cover of "NEVER ENOUGH". Actually she always sounds great in all her performances and she is one of the many Filipino pride and she's given the tiltle of ASIA'S PHOENIX.
Before Morissette, I never watch any of the reaction or analysis videos. So, early on, I watched practically all the reaction videos. It became obvious that many of the reactors are ... let's call it "too patronizing" that the only goal was to capitalize on her popularity. Some others tend to come across as authorities in music, and I do not mean that positively. Lately, I stopped watching most reactors. I do watch vocal coaches still - those who appear to be legit and whom I could actually learn. I'd say watching this video, YES, I learned a few things. Thus, I look forward to seeing your next analysis video. If I am to recommend another song sang by Morissette. It would be "Never Enough." In particular, the two videos of her covering this song that stood out are: 1. WISH BUS. The quality of the video is excellent. 2. Mother's Day concert in Laguna. Although the two available videos are fan cam, and the quality is sub par, I like this one better because it was performed in front of a live audience. WISH BUS performances are also live - it is a radio station literally on a bus - but nothing beats being in front of a crowd. Keep it up, Zach. I rarely leave comments, but you did a tremendous job on this video.
Loved your analyzes of Morissette. Does anything happen to vibrato when the singer go's super loud? Example: Morissette does Diamante, towards the end! Thanks
I just hate it when people are reacting/analyzing this video of hers that they'll stop before the video ends it hurts screaming that the video is not done yet!!!!!
she has like 5 lugns with the long breath she can hold and sing for like 20 sec up and down she is amazing , imo best singer in the world atm with the range , style , storytelling and so on read she has 5 octaves and 7 notes what that now is i don't know only that it was more then Mariah Carey had

Morissette has never had singing lessons. She learned from listening to many American singers, especially Mariah Carey, then practicing on karaoke. She's an amazing vocalist. She's one of the best. Could you please react to Tobey Kai singing Commandeer. She's a very good vocalist, rather unique as well. Thanks.

I'm very glad to see you stepping outside of your box and analyzing singers of other genres. I enjoyed your metal stuff, but versatility is more fun for me!
I barely listen to ballads and slow pop songs. I'm a metal head as well. And Morissette is the first ever to change my view in music.

Pls. react to Marcelito Pomoy on Wish Bus. That's one vocal technique you have to react to.
we only have 5 vowel sounds in our language, and it's the same, a, e, i, o, u, pronounced like the spanish way. your obervation could probably work.
