It's a great skill for an artist to have- to be able to evaluate their work without ego or cringe or self-consciousness. He understands the vision, the work reaching for that vision and he can look at where he wants to improve. It's truly amazing

I could hear Taemin talk about his creative process all day, this was fascinating to watch! He's really developed the storyline and symbolism so well, it's very cool how much input he had in the editing process. Criminal is one of my favourite MVs of all time!

I don't think reaction video to his own Mv is interesting to watch, i meant he's shock, screaming etc. We won't get these kinds of reaction from him since he is an artist who have visions, he always evaluating the shot and giving input etc so the commentary is perfect. We get to know his visions, ideas and message he wanted to convey. i love watching and reading his interviews because of those reasons, i got to know his deep insight
yeah it wouldn't be much of a reaction because he was part of the process of putting the MV together all along. I really like this style, it fits an artist like him 😊
Seriously, I had never seen an MV reaction video in which an idol was actually critical and talkative about his work. Some k-pop groups come up with amazing comebacks, great stories and concepts behind, but sometimes is really sad seeing that when they are asked about it, they explain it very poorly or they don't have any idea at all, like if they weren't involved. Watching this video, Taemin really surprised me in a good way; he has obviously worked hard and put a lot of effort and detail in his comeback.

I think the difference in the reactions is that in the first group, these idols are actors in another person´s production (director, producer, agency) while with Taemin he is the visionary in his own MV. Thus like a painter stepping back and looking at his canvas with objectivity and a critical eye, so does Taemin watching himself in a video. It is not a subjective experience but an objective one at that point.
This is what true artist do.. analyzing of him every way to make himself or herself do better in future even though they has done their best in the present one... Proud of you taemin ❤️..
The more I understand his process and interpretation, the more I feel so bad and sad this masterpiece couldnt blow up as it deserves. To me, aside from Move, Criminal is the best of Lee Taemin up till now, in every aspect: lyrics, rhythm, concept, cinematic, etc. I hope this can eventually blow up one day after his later combacks.

Taemin's intellect never fails to impress me, the way so much thought and details he puts in his solos and the mv and everything he wants to convey through his music. It is just amazing to listen to him talk about it.
11:20 Genius, it makes the song and the concept more interesting because the logic part of his self wants to run away from the criminal, but his inner self wants to stay and be ruin by it.
I love hearing his ideas and seeing how critical he is with analyzing everything, you can really tell just how much effort he puts into his work and I find it so admirable. His artistry is just incredible
i thinks its really quite genius of taemin to keep the “ruin me more” lyric as unclear to make it seem like two things, playing off of the idea that the mv portrays two different taemins, the “victim” and the “criminal” that lyric ruin me more is like the victim suffereing from hurt from another yet taking it because he doesnt mind it now and the unclear lyric being run away from me can be the criminal not wanting to hurt the victim any longer, all the while it could also be the victim too. Taemin is an absolute genius and he is literally THE solo artist
Great comment. Taemin is a very sophisticated psychoanalyst -- he understands the dynamic between the victim and the perpetrator and the shifting positions. This is a psychologically complex song about also one´s own mind and how we can be both criminal and victim ourselves simultaneously. Taemin is an intellectual artist, no doubt about that.

I don't think reaction video to his own Mv is interesting to watch, i meant he's shock, screaming etc. We won't get these kinds of reaction from him since he is an artist who have visions, he always evaluating the shot and giving input etc so the commentary is perfect. We get to know his visions, ideas and message he wanted to convey.
i love watching and reading his interviews because of those reasons, i got to know his deep insight

Seriously, I had never seen an MV reaction video in which an idol was actually critical and talkative about his work. Some k-pop groups come up with amazing comebacks, great stories and concepts behind, but sometimes is really sad seeing that when they are asked about it, they explain it very poorly or they don't have any idea at all, like if they weren't involved. Watching this video, Taemin really surprised me in a good way; he has obviously worked hard and put a lot of effort and detail in his comeback.

I think the difference in the reactions is that in the first group, these idols are actors in another person´s production (director, producer, agency) while with Taemin he is the visionary in his own MV. Thus like a painter stepping back and looking at his canvas with objectivity and a critical eye, so does Taemin watching himself in a video. It is not a subjective experience but an objective one at that point.

The more I understand his process and interpretation, the more I feel so bad and sad this masterpiece couldnt blow up as it deserves. To me, aside from Move, Criminal is the best of Lee Taemin up till now, in every aspect: lyrics, rhythm, concept, cinematic, etc.

i thinks its really quite genius of taemin to keep the “ruin me more” lyric as unclear to make it seem like two things, playing off of the idea that the mv portrays two different taemins, the “victim” and the “criminal” that lyric ruin me more is like the victim suffereing from hurt from another yet taking it because he doesnt mind it now and the unclear lyric being run away from me can be the criminal not wanting to hurt the victim any longer, all the while it could also be the victim too. Taemin is an absolute genius and he is literally THE solo artist
Great comment. Taemin is a very sophisticated psychoanalyst -- he understands the dynamic between the victim and the perpetrator and the shifting positions. This is a psychologically complex song about also one´s own mind and how we can be both criminal and victim ourselves simultaneously. Taemin is an intellectual artist, no doubt about that.
