I'm so glad it could help you as I thought the same thing when I bought it. It's a shame they are so lazy and cheap as it is a great kitchen gadget that makes wonderful food.
I got one that was used, but have been nervous about the pressure valve. Perhaps I'll try it now that l have a better understanding. Thank you! Question: Are both the clockwise and counterclockwise steps necessary as shown in your video prior to you opening the lid?
You're right. The instruction book is terrible. That's why I'm on you tube looking for how to use it. I had a different one a couple years ago and I had a bad kitchen/house fire so that one was on my counter and got melted into a big plastic and metal ball. I liked it better than this one but I'm glad to have it anyway.
Thank you so much for the demonstration. Will be using mine for the first time ever and appreciate you walking through all the buttons, the pressure valve and how to use a spoon to release the valve after a slight cooling off period. Truly appreciate the insight.
Thanks for your demonstration! I just pulled mine off the storage shelf! Got, this for a gift 3 years ago! I have so much electrical products that I put it away! Now, I put away my crock pot, that I was using! This is so much faster with multiple ways ofcooking!! Your ham and beans looked so delicious! 😋🥘
You are a God sent. I felt like I was reading a different language going through the instructions in this manual. I was on the verge of returning the item.
Thank you so much. I sent this video to my mom. This is her first of this style. Today is her first time using it. I tried to read thru the instructions but it's not as descriptive AND easy to follow as your video.
mixed up the pressure control knob on top. Up (clock wise) for pressure. Down (counter clockwise) to release pressure. Otherwise good instructions, and I love a good bean soup too. Thank you.
Thanks for this!! All I could find was the insta pot and if you are not that familiar with pressure cooking, a tutorial on your specific kind is SUPER helpful!
You're very welcome, the only problem with the video is at the time I was incorrect about the direction to turn the valve. Outside of that having one of these pressure cookers is a wonderful tool
Thank you for posting a demonstration video for the Faberware Pressure Cooker. I had the original instant pot for many many years and I loved it. However when the time came to replace it the newer version had so many different features and modes I was afraid to try it. I couldn't find the original instant pot anywhere at the time. So I bought the Faberware. It's been a love hate relationship. Anyway your demonstration will help me immensely. Thank you again.
God bless your heart! Thank you for the review. Me and mom got overwhelmed by the instructions cause it’s too much so we decided to look for a tutorial.
Yep! I got one for Christmas a few years ago, the directions were garbage so I threw the book away..... then I couldn't remember how to change the time. Lol.
Thanks so much! Very clear and detailed. My grandmother just got one as a gift. This tutorial gave her a lot of knowledge and confidence in operating it!
Thanks so much for this video. The instruction manual leaves a LOT to be desired. One thing that I had to keep going back and forth in the video to see was the position of the pressure valve when I closed the lid. I turned it all the way counter-clockwise as you said, but it was releasing the steam, so the pressure wouldn't build and the timer wouldn't start. I decided to turn it in the other position and it worked as needed.
I'm sorry for that part about the pressure valve, if you were watching the video on a computer it would have said I made a mistake on the direction to turn the valve. Otherwise I hope you have fun making everything you can in there.
Glad to give the idea to you. Not only does it add flavor it gives slight different texture as well. I found though if you do half crispy and the rest soft the texture is there and if you are not up for all that bacon grease added you can drain off what would equal half.
I bought the Farberware because it was less expensive and larger than the instapot. Love it. Thank you for explaining the timer part. I've been trying to use it, but unable to remember how i did it. I found a pork and beans recipe that is delicious and have cooked several meals with it.
You are very welcome, I'm starting a cooking channel where you can get more ideas. I should be starting to post this next week. My live pork loin roast and beans had to be taken down last night because a commercial or something my room mate was watching flagged it as copyright complaint but that won't stop me. Keep an eye out for "Cook with JT DragonFlash." There will be new videos soon with more than just the pressure cooker.
Thank you so much. I couldn’t figure out how to extend the pressure cooking time to 1 hour. I called customer service and they said it was not possible; that it was programmed with certain settings. 🤦🏻♀️ THANKS AGAIN!
Glad to hear you liked it, I had to tone it down for my room mates as they had never had my cooking before this video and I didn't want to over power them for flavor as I didn't know what their tastes were like. Water is one of the best ways to control the flavor factor in that soup but depending on what you put in is what you get out. I'm so happy you liked it.
Great job my dude. I got one with no directions and never have seen one being used. Somebody gave it to me, new. Now I see how to use it. As a chef and somebody who uses a regular pressure cooker for many years, I like this, or think I will. 45 minutes seems like a LONG time for this to cook, but your beans weren't falling apart. And instead of the basil, you might want to try a bay leaf, or not. Bay goes better with beans and ham, imho, and culinary wise. I am going to try some baked beans with this, I like how you didn't have to soak them. Who thinks of doing that a day ahead? Thanks for the vid.
Can you tell me what setting you use for speghetti? I tried making a pasta dish with chicken. I found that I can't manually set the timer( which the recipe called for..so I ended up doing po3. And stopping it after 4 minutes.
Glad I could help you, I hope to have a new instapot once I get back on my feet. Once I get that I will be doing a new video for that one. Keep your eyes open sometime around July 2020.
Thank You!!!! I just got one and this helped me sooo much!! Now i feel confident to actually use it safely. The soup looked amazing!!!!! I look forward to more cooking demonstrations from you!! Nicely done!! Subscribed!😃
The pressure is automatically set. This is a simple starter unit. It is a basic unit to learn with. The more complicated ones do allow setting the pressure but this is more to learn what you can do in it. Farberware put it out this way so that anybody can use it.
Thanks for the video, it was a help! How ever the venting part is incorrect, you said the vent should be placed in the (if it was a clock face) at 7:00 and release is at 11:00 actually it should be reversed for cooking under pressure is a 11:00, and steam release is a 7:00 on this model, as if placed on the 7:00 it will steam (you can also steam veggies, puddings) NOT pressure cook. I'm sure you were nervous doing the video but you did do a great job, and since there were not other demo's for this model it was great, and I love mine too, it will be great to cook in the hotter weather with it not heating up the kitchen
I know and I had corrected it with written text that comes up saying I got it backwards. I believe I also mentioned it in the description. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As I said i, with the job I have I don't get much time to do these and have been trying to do them off the top of my head. I am looking to a job that has normal hours so I can have some more time to do it right. Plus get a regular apartment so I have room to set up my equipment properly to be able to read my notes. The only great part of where I'm at is having a large kitchen as long as one of my room mates doesn't blast his music. Thanks for watching and it will get better. Still getting equipment to help that to.
toni ulm actually I do eat cornbread with my beings but I didn't have any that day. Although I'm originally from Peoria Illinois so I guess it doesn't matter where I'm from
good job.... thanks for giving us some information, as Farberware doesnt really include a manual. Your time settings and explanation on making your bean soup was very helpful, seeing the consistancy of the results and an inkling of how we can alter the time and settings. Thank you !
You are very welcome, and I would like to let you know that I will be starting another channel soon called Cooking with JT DragonFlash. That one will be fun because it will be more detailed as we will be trying tons of recipes and learning to cook on the fly. I will also be trying to go live with that channel and will announce daily the time and if I will be able to do a live show. Depends on my job and how busy the day is. When I have the channel up, I will try to let you know.
In the manual, it has the steam dial the opposite way than you do. Otherwise, great video and I can't wait to make my own ham and beans soup in mine! Thank you!
I own the same Farberware 7 Cooker and Have used it often in my kitchen. I to really wish Faberware would publish a owners manual on the net for download. I have searched every corner of the internet for a manual and nothing is available. Faberware Users lets band together and share tips for using this affordable cooker.
thank you so much! I just bought one of these to replace our old pressure cooker that got damaged..... and I could not for the life of me figure out how to add time after a menu setting! I wish this one had a glass lid for once it is done and is sitting on warm. That is my main complaint!
Really easy starter is soups like ham & bean, vegetable beef, chicken & rice. Try not to do creamy or tomatoes soups. Creamy soups scorch too easily and getting tomato soups tend to end up with a flavor or smell not favorable because the heat level is to high. There are chicken recipes to do whole chickens, fish, ribs, etc. Just look up (what you want to make) in a pressure cooker on google. Ribs are easy to do and they fall off the bone. My ham & bean soup is here ruclips.net/video/Ui8rFv1T4-8/видео.html when you get to the family secret sauce just use garlic and onions to your liking. Also here is my video for making Corned Beef and Cabbage for St Patrick's Day. Just make sure you don't misjudge what you can fit in the pot as I did. ruclips.net/video/VFRTCT8SO2A/видео.html these are easy to make.
I got a Farberware pressure cooker as a gift probably 2 years ago. I have never used it because honestly I'm afraid LOL ... and everything talks about the Instant Pot. Is the Farberware pot comparable/exchangeable with Instant pot recipes?
My crock pot i broken the other day because the pressure cooker wasn't in stock at Walmart at the time i wanted to purchase but Wait yesterday they were on sale for 59 ,99 and of course i could have ordered a replacement porcelain pot but the structure of struggle trying to get some results today aren't worth the headache and i probably will just end up tearing the crockpot down and making something Cool out of the condensed induction element don't know what yet but i hate to throw it out but time to learn how to not burn Kool aid a tutorial great hu,,been around for ages on the film market adult entertainment but finally a tutorial that will do some good education on how its done right 😅
We can leave the pot on when we open it, so long as we release the steam valve? I just got mine and once it’s done, I planned on turning it off, releasing the steam before opening it.
Yes it has a great feature to keep food warm once it is done. Comes in handy if you can't serve right away or if someone is coming after you start eating.
Nice to know for those who got a manual in there box when they purchased it. Like most of my viewers I bought mine brand new from the store and it had no manual. As for quick release, the device won't release until pressure is released no matter what setting. Also I never had any issue using quick release on any setting but if you must quick release and can't using the weighted valve just push the red pressure release valve in until all pressure is out of the pot. Just make sure to use a tool to keep from burning yourself.
Personally I no longer need a copy as I do not own the device anymore. As for the manual being supplied by the store, I tried the store I tried the manufacturer nobody seemed to be able to come up with a manual for it. This is why I made the video for people. Almost all of my viewers had the same problem I did. None of them have a manual. That's a lot of people without manuals. Thanks for the offer.
I am legally blind and I use a power chair. I just purchased this same one and unfortunately, I am unable to read the instructions or as I call the D-Structions. I would love to know how to cook a boneless turkey in this so the turkey is nice and moist. I was thinking about slicing it first and then putting it into the cooker and it would be between 2 - 5 LBS in size? Can you please make a video on how to do this? I was thinking about getting the fully cooked turkey that is boneless at Costco but it would be nice to know how to cook things that may be raw or if you can do that and how long to cook certain things such as a boneless turkey so all we have to do is grab slices out of the cooker with some tongs and plate it? I just subscribed to your channel I loved your demonstration and would love to see a video. Thank You.
Have you tried to make brown rice in it yet? If not you just have to go to setting #3 for rice and I would go in and do the manual change once you have it and add like 5 minutes extra to the process. You could also add 10 if you feel 5 minutes won't be enough. I personally have never made rice in the cooker so I couldn't tell you for sure. Great question, I will have to try that some time and post a video on it. Thank you for asking. Let me know if you figure it out.
I wonder if they made a change to this pot? Mine will NOT allow you to adjust the time for P3/rice, risotto. Frustrating too, because the first time I tried a rice dish, it came out ndercooked for me.
I sent my husband for a crock pot..he came home with this. Very intimidating little device. I have never used any "device" besides a crock. So here I am trying to figure out what I have to do for a simple roast 🤣
It has a setting for meat but personally I'm not good with pot roast. Your best bet after getting to know this from my video is try asking someone on the Facebook group for tips on pot roast and recipes.
i have one of these....the only thing that didnt match was i guess yours is different than mine...because to seal it the knob turns to the back of the pot...for mine...you said to seal it...turn the knb to the front of the pot....thats how mine releases...you may want to check yours again. im cooking right now and mine is to the back of the pot and the red button is popped up letting me know there is pressure in the pot.
Just got this as a gift and instructions were horrible. This video is great thanks so much I feel ready to experiment now!
I'm so glad it could help you as I thought the same thing when I bought it. It's a shame they are so lazy and cheap as it is a great kitchen gadget that makes wonderful food.
The instructions are awful. That's why I'm here. Thank you
I got one that was used, but have been nervous about the pressure valve. Perhaps I'll try it now that l have a better understanding. Thank you!
Question:
Are both the clockwise and counterclockwise steps necessary as shown in your video prior to you opening the lid?
I have one and im scared of it I hope I feel safer after watching your video
You're right. The instruction book is terrible. That's why I'm on you tube looking for how to use it. I had a different one a couple years ago and I had a bad kitchen/house fire so that one was on my counter and got melted into a big plastic and metal ball. Got as a gift from my grandpa. Super helpful video when I had no idea how to use!
Thank you. I had no idea on how to use the cook time button. 👏👏👏
Thanks for your demonstration! I just pulled mine off the storage shelf! Got, this for a gift 3 years ago! I have so much electrical products that I put it away! Thank you!! I brought a cooker today. You're my teacher & this was my first video on usage of cooker.
mixed up the pressure control knob on top.
Thank so much I wasn’t sure about the pressure valve .
You're very welcome, the only problem with the video is at the time I was incorrect about the direction to turn the valve. Outside of that having one of these pressure cookers is a wonderful tool
Thanks my mom didn’t know how to use this so I found this video, it actually helped a lot
Thank you so much for your review. It was very helpful!
This was the best video so far. Thank you for the detailed tutorial
Thank you for posting a demonstration video for the Faberware Pressure Cooker. I had the original instant pot for many many years and I loved it.

Lol.

You're very welcome!
Thank you so much sir 😊 for the instructions 🙂
Thanks so much! Very clear and detailed. My grandmother just got one as a gift. This tutorial gave her a lot of knowledge and confidence in operating it!
Muchas gracias por su demostración.
Thank you for the video. It's hard to find a how to for this pressure cooker also appreciate the recipe
Thanks so much for this video. The instruction manual leaves a LOT to be desired. One thing that I had to keep going back and forth in the video to see was the position of the pressure valve when I closed the lid. Same here. Glad I'm not the only one.
i’ve never thought of cooking bacon for soup in different stages! very smart idea.
Glad to give the idea to you. Not only does it add flavor it gives slight different texture as well. I found though if you do half crispy and the rest soft the texture is there and if you are not up for all that bacon grease added you can drain off what would equal half.
Thanks so much cause I didn’t know everything it can do
THANK YOU so much !!v This was super-helpful !!!!
Thanks Boondock. This was video was very helpful. ❤❤
I bought the Farberware because it was less expensive and larger than the instapot. Love it. Thank you for explaining the timer part. I've been trying to use it, but unable to remember how i did it. I found a pork and beans recipe that is delicious and have cooked several meals with it.
Thank you for showing i just bought my farberware pressure cooker couple weeks ago
Careful, you'll become addicted to all you can do in there.
thank you. Now I understand it, and ready to use it. :)
You are very welcome, I'm starting a cooking channel where you can get more ideas. I should be starting to post this next week. My live pork loin roast and beans had to be taken down last night because a commercial or something my room mate was watching flagged it as copyright complaint but that won't stop me. Thanks man good video
Best product out there and price is unbeatable.
Thank you! Thank you soooo much...!
Oh I’m gonna make this soup asap!

I love mine i have made chorizo, beans, lentils, spaghetti, shredded beef and pork chicken and birria too i just love my machine 💗
Can you tell me what setting you use for speghetti? I tried making a pasta dish with chicken. I found that I can't manually set the timer( which the recipe called for..so I ended up doing po3. And stopping it after 4 minutes.
Thank you 🙌🏾 this helped a lot because the instructions that come with are so weird lol
Glad I could help you, I hope to have a new instapot once I get back on my feet. Once I get that I will be doing a new video for that one. Keep your eyes open sometime around July 2020.
Exactly what I needed!
Watching this video in walmart, Watching this before I decide to buy 😄
Thank You!!!! I just got one and this helped me sooo much!! Now i feel confident to actually use it safely. The soup looked amazing!!!!! I look forward to more cooking demonstrations from you!! Nicely done!! Subscribed!😃

You must be from the North because we in the South, Texas specifically, eat cornbread with our beans. Good show!
toni ulm actually I do eat cornbread with my beings but I didn't have any that day. Although I'm originally from Peoria Illinois so I guess it doesn't matter where I'm from

If yes. By how much? I want mine thicker.

I got one for Christmas 2 years ago and IMMEDIATELY misplaced the book....
There's a farberware group on Facebook where people have been together on different recipes and tips
@@blayneb7290 THANKS!!!
Do you know how to make the pressure cooker turn off when the time is up? It says OH when done, and then stays on and burns stuff up if Im away.
thank you so much! I just bought one of these to replace our old pressure cooker that got damaged..... and I could not for the life of me figure out how to add time after a menu setting! I wish this one had a glass lid for once it is done and is sitting on warm. That is my main complaint!
I really need some farberware recipes
Really easy starter is soups like ham & bean, vegetable beef, chicken & rice. Try not to do creamy or tomatoes soups. Creamy soups scorch too easily and getting tomato soups tend to end up with a flavor or smell not favorable because the heat level is to high. There are chicken recipes to do whole chickens, fish, ribs, etc. Just look up (what you want to make) in a pressure cooker on google. Ribs are easy to do and they fall off the bone. My ham & bean soup is here ruclips.net/video/Ui8rFv1T4-8/видео.html
when you get to the family secret sauce just use garlic and onions to your liking. Also here is my video for making Corned Beef and Cabbage for St Patrick's Day. Just make sure you don't misjudge what you can fit in the pot as I did.
ruclips.net/video/VFRTCT8SO2A/видео.html these are easy to make.
Ty
I'd like to use it for Sous Vide. Eggs?
I do appreciate the tutorial. Thank you. Pro Tip: Sear Bacon before Onions, everything else follows.
Thanks a lot. I didn't like the directions, wanted to set the clock... At least I'm cookin!
great cookers but there is a learning curve . I'm thinking of posting some of the things I've had success with
Wanted to add that it is a good idea to put a small amount of oil or grease on you rubber ring.
I got a Farberware pressure cooker as a gift probably 2 years ago. I have never used it because honestly I'm afraid LOL ... and everything talks about the Instant Pot. Is the Farberware pot comparable/exchangeable with Instant pot recipes?

Which setting is the highest pressure? And how many pounds pressure max does it produce?
We can leave the pot on when we open it, so long as we release the steam valve? I just got mine and once it’s done, I planned on turning it off, releasing the steam before opening it.
Yes it has a great feature to keep food warm once it is done. Comes in handy if you can't serve right away or if someone is coming after you start eating.
Good section in manual p.9 is
OPERATION -
Quick Release:
Venting position..
Unsuitibility of Quick Release for some foods.
@@JTDragonFlash You could ask the store to make a copy for you. I would be willing to make a copy if they don't.
@@JTDragonFlash Thank you for the reply.
The vent part is incorrect as another person commented
The release value that on the lid I don't know where mines went. Do you know where I can get another one from. Thank you
When using the slow cooker method as in Crock-Pot cooking do I leave it vented?
I'm trying to figure out which setting is best to cook tamales in.
Thank You.
Can the Farberware 7 in 1 pressure cooker lid be submerged in water for cleaning purposes...I can't find it anywhere!
Do you know what the temp is on the warm setting? I'm getting no help from their customer service dept. Thanks
