Alita is an interest mashup character: appearance-wise, Ellie from "The Last of Us"; Ellen Page; and she talks out of the side of her mouth like a New Yorker. She seems to have been created specifically for the Asian market (and that's where most of the demand for the film has been), and she's a stereotypical Disney type, young girl character along the lines of Mulan, Jasmine, Merida, and Pocahontas --- all searching for who they 'truly are'. It's almost like you are forced to like her.
@@sjsbmksps There's this moment in the movie where Alita asks Hugo if it doesn't bother him that she's not completely human. He answers something similar to "You're the most human person I've ever met". This reminded me of a quote from a review of the last/newest book written by Sapkowski from the Witcher universe: "We fell in love with Geralt because despite being a mutant (so not completely a human anymore), he's the most human character in this world". Witchers are monster hunters that are being fed with mutation potions as children in order for them to become faster/stronger/develop better senses etc. They are not considered humans by society, they cannot reproduce and they are supposed to feel no feelings or emotions. I think same goes for Alita. She's a full replacement cyborg, she's basically a human-robotic most advanced weapon ever created (an URM berserker who mastered Panzer Kunst) but she's still the most noble character (as when she was disappointed when Hunter-Warriors refused to fight Gruishka only because there was no bounty for him, even though he was evil), she cares for little and insignificant ones (like that little dog) etc. I agree, you cannot not like her.
@@Kasiarzynka oh, wow, didn't know that about Witcher. It's always on the radar but I never got to know what is it exactly about. I'd like to give it a shot then. @@sjsbmksps Wow, now you surprised me with that Reddit thing 😅. Sure, why not. You don't even need to mention my name (in fact I'd insist on you skipping it since I prefer to stay as anonymous as possible on the Internet and I also have no Reddit account so it doesn't really matter to me). You can just say something about that you read such a comment on youtube and decided to share it there (on Reddit), with permission of the author. And link the thread here. BTW You got so much respect from my side though for even asking if you could share it elsewhere 😀. BTW I read the first part of the manga and I wanted to read further parts before watching the movie since they include some threads that are not mentioned in the first part, probably to make the story more interesting to the viewer. But I watched it regardless and I don't regret. The other parts of manga are still waiting for me though (mostly because I cannot afford 20-25€ per part right now) so I'm kind of like "please no further spoilers" so I'd probably first check the Reddit thread in a while. But I'm already a huge fan of Alita, I totally love her. As to the Witcher, I definitely recommend it. The books are really unique, different, fascinating for any fiction (and not only fiction) fan... And philosophical and deep at the same time. The only reason one of my friends read it despite hating even made up violance and not being into fantasy at all. I do think they and Alita have a lot in common, also in that matter. Also, Netflix is releasing the first season of their TV show, probably December 2019 and just like I cannot imagine watching Alita without reading at least part of the manga (I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it even half as much if I hadn't read it - which is the only reason I did not watch it in a cinema), I cannot imagine watching Witcher without reading the books. So you should definitely check them out, at least Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, although judging by trailer, they might be touching some threads from further parts.
@@Kasiarzynka and so I posted it. :) it was just too beautiful to be left here on YT comment section. YES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This my favorite song you’ve released! I really appreciate the effort you put into these. Just out of curiousity, how long does re-edit in 4k take? 🍊🍫🤩
No it isn't. Oldboy, Ruroni Kenshin, Gintama, Your Lie in April, Death Note [not the Netflix version], Bleach, Mushishi, Orange, Lone Wolf and Cub, Black Butler, Cromartie High, Blood the Last Vampire, Casshern, Crying Freeman, Detroit Metal City, Cutie Honey, Dororo, Nana, Bakuman, Ore Monogatari!!, Gantz, Erased, ReLife, Gatchaman, Lupin III, Blade of the Immortal, and Another all have great live action adaptions, and they are just the tip of the iceberg. Hell, Speed Racer is a great adaption. It didn't do well in the West, but as an adaption it was pretty much exactly what you got with the show and manga. If anything, it did too good a job adapting the source, which confused western audiences not familiar with the show. There isn't a shortage of decent live action anime adaptions, not all of them are good, but they fare far better than video game live action films and Japan has been putting out great live action adaptions since at least the 80s. The first I recall was Sukeban Deka.
They would have the west on their side if the sequel is a prequel. 3 days before mars attacks. Totally military and how ruthless she could be til the very end when she's damaged.
