  • As we were cleaning out 10 years of accumulated stuff in our barn, we discovered one load-bearing wall had fallen off the foundation. We show you how we approached trying to salvage the barn shed which involved calling on a friend for some engineering help and applying a lot of on-the-spot problem solving.
If you haven’t already, check out Crazy Russian Hacker. He is hilarious!

*Pro Tips on Bottle Jacks* -- Never place a bottle jack directly on cinder block. You can use cinder block in the stack, but the base of the jack needs to be on wood. Also when using cinder blocks, be sure to center the jack over the center divider of the cinder block. Never use the flat side of the cinder block. Always place it so the holes are vertical, then top it with a 2x8 if you need to use it for your jack. Instead of the blocks, you could use some pads, then a piece of wood. Remember to center. Cheers!

Best gloves ever! Get a ten pair pack at costco for about 10 bucks. Good rubber gripping for grabbing and holding onto awkward stuff like slick heavy sheet good panels like drywall, masonite, species wood plywood panels, carrying out wood furniture or when installing kitchen cabinets. The heavy knit backs offer breathability so your hands don't get hot and sweaty. And when they get all muddy or really dirty you can wash them in a bucket of soapy water and hang them up to dry! Best gardening gloves too.

What you need Jeremy, is a Tirfor (or two) - especially on your new farm ! - A Tirfor is a great piece of kit to have for manually pulling and lifting all sorts of heavy loads, stuck vehicles, otherwise dangerous precarious trees, construction jobs, and erection of pre-framed walls etc, dragging very heavy loads, and is great for pulling over long distances, as well as short distances. I recommend the 1.6 ton model, for most applications, but the 3/4 ton model is much easier to carry and deploy quickly, but provides only half the force of the 1.6 ton model. And the biggest unit will pull 3.2 tons - See... ruclips.net/video/jyDKjmxTkEM/видео.html

I think that was BUILT rotten! Then paint it thick with ‘orange lacquer’ or what now is called Kills
