what do you like about Ryu ? This amazing art was made by:@PXVXVX make sure to follow him and subscribe to his you tube channel. thank you guys enjoy !!
What I love about Ryu is how unwavering he is on his own merits and path. I'm glad he's overcame the Dark Hado. But, I'm REALLY hoping they have him settle down with Chun-Li.
Ryu will always be the wandering warrior. He is like a monk. Dedicated his entire life to training and fighting. And it seems that that will never change with him. As the official website for Street Fighter 6 has already seem to have established. Capcom is never going to change that aspect of his character. They don’t want him to retire or settle down, they want him to still be that wandering warrior because that’s what makes him so appealing as a character. It’s Ryu’s dream. And it’s what he wants.
Characters that don't change usually stagnate. It's pretty hard to write this type of character in a compelling way, which is why the movies and shows seem to push him to background vignettes while following other, more proactive characters like Guile and Chun Li or just totally revamp his personality. It seems to work in fighting games, where the characters are basically stereotypes to begin with, but it's much more difficult to ignore in more story-driven media.
@@robinthrush9672 It’s hard to write Guile or Chun-Li in a compelling way too. But yeah. Bottom line is Capcom is never going to change those characters. Cause they wanna keep their appeal as much as possible.
Ryu's fighting style is a fictional art form called Ansatsuken, which was loosely based off mainly of Kyokushin Karate, Chinese Kenpo, Aikido, Judo. The art form was taught in a non lethal style by Gouken instead of the murderous form of Satsui No Hadou. Shotokan is not the fighting style as that was a mistranslation of the US instruction manual. Ryu's character was based on Choi Yeong eui aka Masatatsu Oyama. Thank you for this amazing video never the less, as you guys put in a ton of work in these videos. 🙏🏾
Less likely. He is a devoted wandering warrior. He doesn’t value that as such an importance. His SF6 website status states he has devoted his life to being the wandering warrior. Basically, becomes like Gouken. Also he is training with Oro. Ryu is like a monk. And I don’t think Capcom is going to change that. Because that’s what makes his character so appealing to the fan base. They are smart enough to not change status quos of characters. Because they want to keep them as appealing as possible. He is completely dedicated to forever training and fighting. It’s the only thing he values truly in life.
I remember my first time playing Street Fighter at the local laundry/arcade as a young child; I always chose Ryu. Still one of the most iconic characters in pop culture. I love how his appearance has aged some. I want to see him as a wise old warrior monk one day. 🐐status
Spiritual martial artist master like gouken or surpass him too?. Since he got teachings from ORO. I know many hope to see him settle down with chun li or retire. But, many fans would hope to see him fighting. Maybe as hidden character in the future series?. Anyway I don't think ryu go to retirement. So long he wandering there will be new stories revolving around him.
I’m just glad that he’s finally put the Satsui No Hadou in its place! As much as I’d like to see him settle down and all, I don’t think that’s what he wants. He’s not westernised. He’ll keep fighting as long as he can and I hope I’ll be alive long enough to see it.
This was good. It's good to know the ages of some of the Street fighter characters. I knew that Rio was still a young man that's good to know that at the end of sf3 going into sf6 he's in his thirties which is still fairly young man comparably speaking. Which means a lot of the other Street fighter characters is are still moderately youngish. I think a good idea would be when the full list of characters for sf6 is made to possibly list all their ages that way we have a comparison from when they appeared originally in the series up till now. But also gives a good time line of years in between different events.
I like the theory where akuma is his father, but I think it may be too late to put it into the lore I would love to see him pass the torch someday maybe, baybe hava a child. I think the wondering warrior will be a hermit in his last days too
Ok so ive figured it out The 3s comic back in 99 is cannon UDON picked up from Ryu & Akumas second fight and the whole Shin Ryu thing is adopted and its on from there. Ryu got the hole in his chest in the 3s manga and that was the end of that. So at this point, Akuma has transcended heaven and hell and now hes back on earth. I wonder whats next now
I train in Shotokan, as much as I’d love Ryu to use my fighting style, it’s not really Shotokan. He is more based on Kyokushin than Shotokan. Believe me I wish I could do Hadoukens in real life. Having said all that, he does have recognisable techniques in the games which do resemble actual real Karate. His Joudan Sokuto Geri (you all call donkey kick) is actually Yoko Geri in Shotokan for example. Also in 6 one of Ryu’s win poses is him kneeling which in Karate we call ‘seiza’
Totally agree with, he’s more Kyokushin than Shotokan! in Kyokushin they do the ‘seiza’ pose after knocking their opponent down in sparing. Also, before and after every training session. Finally, the basics, katas, and terminologies for both styles are the same. Thanks for sharing.
The story of Ryu is very interesting he is a very very interesting and cool character the story of street fighter cool even I’m just finding out that street Fighter Doing the Alpha series of street fighter it’s fun to learn more about this series and the characters this very very helpful I enjoyed it great video God Bless You and have a Beautiful day
As long as ken and Ryu are always bros, that's enough for me. I've played with both of them since I was a kid and to see them at odds would be strange to me (Except the movie and svc2).
I'm just curious do we really need to know who is ryu's parents are considering how some origins can be such a let down I mean do you think the creeper from jeepers creepers origin will satisfy the imagination just asking
I still think he can go toe to toe with Goku don't care what anyone says Goku would have to go super Saiyan to beat Ryu but Ryu has power ups as well sorry y'all I'ma die-hard Street fighter fan #CapcomAllDay
I'm here to tell real story of Saget and Ryu's battle. Sorry not Sorry 🙏🏾. Yes they have fought a tough glorious battle but...Ryus' dark side was introduced to him this day. Saget has beaten Ryu far and squared, although a brutal big son of a ??🤔🤷🏾....he has good sportsmanship. Approaches Ryu with a hand to help him up and guard down. On one knee defeated the turmoil festering of his dark Hadou. Saget was absolutely surprised and too slow to counter the raw power of His DP. That's how he got that scar and why he hates Ryu..because of bad sportsmanship. Animated movie is a bad representation of how that battle went although it was a good movie.
Look y'all since this story is for Ryu how come they don't give him a single play through story mode and let him travel to different countries and face his toughest battle at the end this can be the true game of his story this can give us something new instead of the same lame arcade mode we keep getting that's so short

The Ultimate Warrior
He always have goal to be came stronger 💪 & he is humble
The answer lies in the heart of battle.that sums up ryu perfectly.

@thirteen Ryu pretty much is the new Gouken.

So what character evolution do you think Sakura should get if any one is necessary

Ryu is becoming Gouken
I'm glad to have started this Street Fighter journey since the SNES days. It's so neat to see this story of Ryu unfold.
“Without further “haduken” “
I was hoping to see Ryu move on with his life beyond just fighting, to have a family & see his kids and Ken's son continue the legacy.
Less likely. He is a devoted wandering warrior. He doesn’t value that as such an importance. His SF6 website status states he has devoted his life to being the wandering warrior. Basically, becomes like Gouken. Also he is training with Oro. Ryu is like a monk.

I don't know about that because Ryu is pretty much Asexual and all he cares about is just martial arts.
That would be cool seeing that
Ryu is married to the art of fighting 😂.
That would be corny and I can guarantee the FGC would hate that plot lol
Man ryu has been installed deep impressions for training and life and approach to learning.
Love this video
Great work
I hope that the second fight between Alex and Ryu will be solved in sf6
Can't believe me it too so long for this channel to come into my feed! ♥ tyvm!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Ryu will always be the face of Street Fighter. I hope they never try to move on without him, it just wouldn't be the same.
Capcom tried to replace Ryu and I since SFII and SFIII,
but fans refused to go along with it.
His entire story is just "fight it out bro"
I would love for Ryu to settle down with someone and gave his own little wandering warriors to pass down his knowledge.
Ryu is coming on in years soon he will have to find a successor, just saying
Ryu you feel safe and look up to him.
I love and respect the journey of Ryu. Since the beginning
He's the best

Ryu became hot daddy Ryu that’s what happened. Woooo the beard

Ryu is a wrestling fan, in canon

Not a theory, he is
Ryu has come a very long way it won't be long til he is a master himself and takes on his own apprentice
Ok so ive figured it out

I'm waiting for the day he finally beats Akuma
Yes.. i am also wandering when they will finally conclude that story had he finally became strong enough to finally beat Akuma.
Nice an updated story of RYU
thank you soo much

I love the awaking of the darkness in ryu was him DPing on wake-up.
DPing?
@@Jason-hv8mz dragon punch
3rd time asking for the team face reveal (really just the narrator) I like your accent
He's gonna throw the shinku hadouken one handed and a hadouken with but one finger
Street fighter universe be solving world problems with fisticuffs.
Yoo can u please tell me what that instrumental is playing in the background in the background @ 1:00!?!?!
they are from you tube royalty free sounds :(
Ryu has unlimited muscle hypertrophy; watch as he becomes bigger than Zangief in SF20.
The fight scene at 14:35 is really cool. I've seen other videos where the fighters do that. Can you share some more?
So the 3s FINAL manga isnt a thing?
Because Alex got his headband from Ken after Akuma and Ryus fight in the manga.
Damn im confused now
Don’t forget Dee Jay….Please i’m sure the powers that be would love to get rid of him please don’t forget DJ💚🖤💛
Hope we see the return of an older sagat too in sf6.he isn't in the leaked roster.but maybe he will be dlc.
love this
Thank you soo much!!

Is Ryu in his early 40s by SF6?
Ryu is currently 58 years old in 2022, but yeah i think he's either in his Late 30s or early 40s in SF6.
Yeah, yeah! He's Akuma's son.
i think he take rest and ken going to violent ken thing again
What new height should Ryu reach now?
*HE SHOULD BE THE FINAL BOSS! HE'S EARNED IT!* And I want to see either Sakura or Sean take him down!
Who is the master of Gotetsu? And where is Goma now ?
I wish Hollywood would make LEGIT live action movies of the Street fighter series... It would make an awesome trilogy if done by people who care.
Are Street Fighter Udon comics canon ?
What if gouken would have trained Sean instead of Ken! Three different base shoryuken. Ryu #1, but I use Ken. They are the best. Period
Hot Ryu should stay
I still think he can go toe to toe with Goku don't care what anyone says Goku would have to go super Saiyan to beat Ryu but Ryu has power ups as well sorry y'all I'ma die-hard Street fighter fan #CapcomAllDay

For any ryu fans what's his last name? Also im ken fan always
Ryu Hoshi
Ken Masters
Ryu Hoshi, according to the 1994 Van Damme Street Fighter movie.
Ryu's Last name being Hoshi WAS NEVER CANON,No where in the games was his last name ever mentioned,The movies aren't canon
@@Micah_Lal the 1994 movie was never canon
Thank gawd!! Hoshi is a terrible last name. He needs something cooler than that lol
No one talks about how Ryu is now Arab but is somehow Japanese. Nothing about him looks Japanese it pisses me off more than it should.

That beard just looks wrong on him, he shouldn't have beard on his jaw line, doesn't look right.
All the new designs look terrible they are really doing dirty the classic characters to try and make shine the new zoomer ones.
Ken fights better than RYU now... That's sad... I'm waiting on Tekken now. Just because sf5 & 6 is trash 🗑️
NEW RYU SUCKS... I LIKE STREET FIGHTER 4 RYU.
One of the dullest characters in SF
Dopest you mean ?
His story is boring. He has very little development.
