- Playthrough with Krizalid, Kyo 1, Kyo 2 and Fio. The Dreamcast version is the best console version of the game, as not only is it arcade perfect, is also adds several extra strikers which weren't seen in the Neo Geo version, including Fio (from Metal Slug 2), Chizuru, Yamazaki and Vanessa.
This was also the second and last King of Fighters game to be released for the Dreamcast in America. It was re-titled "The King of Fighters Evolution".

God this brings back memories. I must have dumped 1000+ hours into this game on my Dreamcast. One of the most underrated KoF
I remember the first time I got this, I was amazed at how smooth the game was, and how it had practically no load times compared to the port of '98.
This game had a cool idea with the 3D backgrounds. But with the low res sprites it just seemed weird. I prefer the normal version with the 2D backgrounds.
Perfect version.
The 3D stages in this game were flawless. I think these are the best ones out of any KOF console port

El poder del dreamcast. LAstima que Sega no supo llevar bien su prestigio y su nombre.
De hecho si supo, fue su mejor consola, consolido una fuerte alianza con muchos licenciatarios como Capcom/SNK, midway, para muestra estan los 2 Marvel Vs Capcom, los 2 Capcom vs snk, Street fighter3, sf alpha3, Re code veronica, kof 98,99,2000, power stone 1,2, la serie 2k nba, nfl, virtua tennis, los sonic's, Garou, el problema fue que su tecnologia se vio opacada por las caracteristicas de la playstation2, ademas de que SEGA ya estaba casi en banca rota y practicamente esta consola se lanzo para re-capitalizarse, cosa que lo logro, despues de esto paso a ser desarrollador de video juegos, ya que no contaba los suficientes fondos. Exelente consola

@@ERGOZ0 es falso, no estaba en bancarrota y en potencia era bastante similar a ps2, esta superando la en algunas cosas y viceversa. La dreamcast fue retirada en pleno auge debido a problemas internos en la compañía.
We need Nintendo Switch to get all classic King of fighters and snes Art of Fighting games.
It has all the King Of Fighters up until 2003. They're the arcade versions though so not as many features as the console versions.

Just picked up this game for the Dreamcast. It's pretty sweet. PlayStation also got a version of this game though it's the interior console version titled KOF 99 Millennium battle. Yeah the American version for the Dreamcast excludes 99 in the title. The PlayStation version is called KOF 99 Millennium battle in the US and just KOF 99 in Japan.
Were you ever able to get this to play via VGA? Or did you have to use composite/s video?
Had many good hours playing this. Also, Krizalid is cheap as hell :D

Esto sí fue una conversión exacta del arcade,hasta con los escenarios en 3D aunque yo siga prefiriendo los diseños 2D de la máquina original.

Mark of the Wolves was SNK' answer to Third Strike. And IMHO runs laps around Street Fighter.

I always wished SNK made KOF like Mark of The Wolves. Really underrated game, especially with a name like Garou, it was so obscure people didn't know about it. KOF was their main franchise, which I think would have brought new life to the KOF series. I mean how many people even know Garou?
This game and KoF 2002: Unlimited Match are the perfect kofs (also kof xiii for the nice sprites)

They put this version on the PS2 as well, but only in Japan. It's on the KoF Nests collection

La mejor versión de kof 99. Hasta el día de hoy insuperable. Lástima que incluso las nuevas versiones de one y ps4 sean inferiores a esta.
En PS4 ni está, sólo en Xbox one y si, es más simple ya que es la versión Neo Geo

El mejor juego de kof lastima que el amigo lo jugara en modo fácil así que chiste cualquiera termina un kof en ese modo, ya se me hacía rara la pobre puntuación y el poco desempeño del cpu!!!

+Aizaku Galcia (Aizaku-san) It's because I didn't use a default team. For some reason SNK made it so you can only fight Kyo or Iori if you use a standard team, edit characters stop you from fighting them. See me playthroughs of the Neo Geo CD or Playstation versions instead if you want to see them, I use default teams in those.
