ESP8266EX Fun With Relay Module, Home Assistant & MQTT

- I found cheap ESP8266 with relay and ordered it without thinking. I was gonna write simple program, upload it to ESP8266, plug ESP8266 to relay and thing is gonna work. But was it like that? NO!

Hi there,I have applied all steps and configured Home Assistant but, I'm having a problem connecting my esp8266 to Home Assistant, it connects to the wifi network but shows the error below:
Serial port COM8 opened
....
Connected, IP address: 192.168.1.115
Light - MQTT - ERROR

Considering that the Sonoff switch actually costs even less, but includes everything, this switch is only something for hobbyists.

I had issue with relay. The startup trigger flickering of relay. How did u solve that ?

was planning on getting one of these cheap ones to use with some led-strips.
If you put some effort and time in it, it will do. Today you also have a "plug and play" solutions like Shelly and Sonoff switches with their apps. In the upcoming months I'll release new content for Shelly devices so check it out once uploaded. My latest video is explaining Shelly humidity and temperature sensor so you can see how the Shelly app looks like and find some info there. In any case have fun!
I got a slightly different module, and can't get it to turn the relay on. Tried all GPIOs available. The module get enough juice. Any ideas?
Check connections for that module. The scheme or diagram to be sure you are wiring as it should be.
..this module has bug on its relay board..remove the smd R2 202 resistor in the relay board to be able to work after programming via the switched USB programmer for the esp-01s
Yeah, I don't why they are producing it with that specific resistor.

Is this work without INTERNET
Not sure if I understand your question exactly. You do not need the ISP internet access for this module to work. You can connect it to your router/modem WLAN with the Wi-Fi or program module to work as AP over Wi-Fi.
I say if I have not any routers can I use only mobile for on off it
