    Bought my 2800M at a yardsale for $5 just had to my a mic for it oh and it already had the MARS mod done it's a great old radio

    Our repeater is on 147,030 the radio automatically sets the offset to positive but ours is a off repeater requiring a negative offset rather than the normal positive one how do you change just the off set to negative when is normally positive

      Repeater shift in settings.

    Great instruction. I do have two questions however. 1) On the Menu Set Mode Reset, what exactly does that do? What's its benefit? Thank you, Steve KJ7ZVQ

      It allows you to only reset the menu back to factory setting without loosing any stored memory channels and stored repeater info like would happen if ya did a complete factory reset

    Deviation is added and stored only in the HM mode at a frequency of 144000. In other modes, at other frequencies, after the power is turned off, the deviation settings are reset!
