The other guy you are talking about is stedman Bailey he has a crazy story I suggest you look it up and fun fact him and Tavon actually both got drafted by the rams in 2013
Geno has the tools to be at least a decent NFL QB, somewhere around a Ryan Tannehill or Case Keenum or Jacoby Brisset, he just got put in a really bad situation at NYJ. It wouldn't shock me to see someone who's tanking give him a shot soon.
I wish my ravens could somehow get him, he would be electric in our scheme. Him and LJ sitting in the back field or him at slot with ingram at back it would be awesome. Espically on returns
Might’ve been utilized well if he fell to Oakland. Remember, speed is a huge part of our team’s decisions past and present. I do feel like Jack Del Rio would’ve developed Tavon well, he’s better than Jeff Fisher. Instead he got used wrong by a guy that no matter what he does, he’ll finish with a sub-par record.
Kairos Bodley I agree with you but not on this. The defense was terrible the offense is what made them close to the Sooners so Tavon Austin is the reason why it was 50-49.😂😂
Facts the Ultimate Team Sport, because heart and preparation is the most important attribute in Football, the team that wants it more will always win no matter the talent.
@@Shnarky because it’s not the same…tavons Austin’s yards came within the game and they always had a chance to win…when booker scored 70 the game been lost and they literally were trying to get him to 70 just because…they were already blown out
His offensive line played really well. Also a really nice playbook to allow for a small WR to play running back. Spread em out, zone blocking and fined the crease
Most exciting player I’ve ever watched…he has moments that are just so explosive and unmatched. His best game in the NFL was against the Colts as a Ram
100% Agree, I barely watched football until I decided to watch this game and saw this amazing performance back in 2012. A shame he's been so disappointing in the NFL
Nick Fisher I know, I've followed his career closely since before he was drafted. He's had chances. The first 2 years, he got Alot of play time. granted he had a terrible offensive coach in Jeff fisher so I understand that. And by time Jeff fisher was gone, his career was pretty bad. Shawn Mcvay is a amazing coach. But last year he was buried on the depth chart, to many Wide receivers. However the same could be said with the cowboys,he won't be but the 3rd or 4rd receiver. I fear he still won't get his chance with the cowboys either
"Austin finds the whole, Dangerous... Hits the edge, Watch out.. 30..25..15, TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA!!!" Yep, that about sums up his WVU career. Man, I sure do miss him playing for us! Excellent player! Us WVU fans can just imagine the all the Nicco to Tavon tds that could come over the next 3-4 yrs!
This game was the prime example of what someone who’s naturally a runningback but because of their size they have to play a different position. This man was never a receiver his athleticism made it a possibility he was always a runningback. Even in the nfl he had his most success running the balll
Problem is, he's played with two thoroughbred running backs that you can't justify taking carries away from. He'd be a great fit on somewhere like Green Bay or New England where he could spend most of his time in the backfield and get 6-10 carries / 5 targets a game.
One of the greatest performance on the football field of all time I still think the rams didn’t use him properly this guy was to talented to not be a bigger force in the league he was tyreek hill before hill touched the league
Went to Morgantown to see my LSU TIGERS play there. Honey Badger won that game for us. Notice: trams are horrid and will stop working. But, you drink all the beer you want! Whipple, WV was gorgeous.
Dont understand why he wasn't used as back more often. Tony Pollard exact same player with size.Tavon wasn't a bist he just wasn't used correctly in the pros
The NFL couldn't really conceive it, but Tavon Austin should've played Running Back in the league; by far his most natural position (his size shouldn't have affected that decision; whiffed career)
I remember him sliding into running back was kept a secret until this game. Other defenses adjusted in the weeks to come but Oklahoma had no clue how to stop this
It sort of boggles my mind that Tavon Austin didn't have a better pro career. Dude is literally one of the most versatile and explosively talented football players I've ever seen, college OR pro.
I mean, that's how it goes sometimes, Some guys just don't translate well to the NFL for whatever reason. Tayvon, Reggie Bush, Sammy Watkins, D'Anthony Thomas. All those guys will still be considered some of the greatest ever college players that didn't pan out in the NFL.
The highstepping he did at 5:49 almost worked. If you watch closely, the highstepping caused the defenders closing in on him to pull back. Had they pulled back alittle more, he wouldve ran right by them.
I can't believe the NFL wasted this guy's talent. They did the same to Cordarelle Patterson until this year. The coaches should be ashamed of themselves. Frauds, all of them.
Was really good gameplanning by WVU they spread out OUs D so that there was really only 1 or 2 guys in the middle so much room for creases idk why Vendables didnt change his alignments and calls to counteract it this was the beginning of a big slide for OUs D and Bringing Mike Stoops back and basically forcing Vendables leave was Bobs biggest mistake
I think the most insane part about this game, is that on top of Tavon having almost 600 total yards and 2TD's, Stedman Bailey had 205 receiving yards and 4TD's..
