- This is a montage of various Sukhishvili dances edited into one piece. I was allowed to spend time with the Sukhishvili dance company in Tbilisi in April 2016 and to film a few rehearsals as I started contemplating a possible documentary on the vital music and dance of Georgia.

Sukhishvili!!! No.1 on my bucket list - to see them live!!!
I'm really glad to see this. I am always amazed that out of a population of, what, like 4 million people, they can find this many people who are top top top in lung power, acrobatic skill, and artistic sensitivity, all rolled into one. And it's less than 4 million, because not everyone in Tbilisi has this slender body type even if they are very athletic, and it's not all the expert dancers, there are more in other companies if I am not mistaken. So I have often been curious just who these dancers really are as people, because that's one thing you don't quite get to know when you see them on stage or in a video of a dress performance. And here we can see them as "real" people, so thanks, Im' glad for that.
Thanks. I totally agree. When I see them in costumes they are mythical figures. But when I watch them practice they are just Lika and Davit, which is even more amazing. Check out my Erisioni videos. Especially the Erisioni Finale.

Many years ago my grandfather came from Batumi to Turkey, i was born in Turkey and i still live in Turkey. But i would like to learn and watch this dance🍀

Thank you for posting your dance classes! I do very much enjoy these dances: the attitude of men and women, the graceful arm and hand movements of the female dancers...and also the fantastic costumes of the regions (the female costumes partially remind me of medieval costumes from eastern parts).
Would love to see live performances!
