Great work, nice end result If you have free time, I'd like to see some tutorial where you explain a bit more on the tools you use (layer select? gradient paint? when to create new layer when to merge etc.) I got the basics of highlight and shadow, but I'm not too good at tools yet.

When it comes to the "tools" in PS... I use a pretty old version of Photoshop - CS 5.1 or 5.5 (I bought it years ago) and I don't think it is relevant sadly. There are many new options/tools in the newest version.

Why don't you make the pen lines shapes instead of raster bucket fills and then paint on top of it as a clipping mask so if you ever need to tweak the shape, it's easier?
