Yeah, it's mindblowing. I remember playing the original GameBoy as a kid and thinking how amazing that was. If I showed this to my 7 year old self, he'd probably lose his mind. Unfortunately, kids today will just say the graphics are bad.

little did I know when I first saw this trailer when it came out (I'd never heard of xenoblade, I'd only known shulk through smash) That it would become my favorite game of all time.
zillablaise I (believe or not) never saw the trailer or the original game trailer; I, however, learned about this Game from the Quarter Guy, without a general idea. (You wouldn't believe my face when I saw this on the shelf when I went bowling with my best friend at the mall. I swear, I was about to burst my eyeballs out at how much I was staring at that shelf. Then my friend said he didn't mind me getting it. I counted my money... And the legend was born.)
I went into the game blind when it first came out on the Wii and it also became my favorite game of all time. Liked Xenoblade X as well like 140 hours into it, but was disappointed by how non-Xenoblade like it felt. Although now I'm playing Xenoblade 2 and it is also amazing and feels so much like a true sequel.
I know some are upset that this games didn't get a Wii U remaster, but look at it like this: The Wii U at its current state hasn't sold enough consoles at the moment. Don't get salty and flame me that I said this, because we all know it's true despite the amazing amount of games its got. Were if this game would have been on the Wii U, it wouldn't sell as much or even more than the original, let alone for some updated visuals. Since handheld games sell more, it kinda made sense for this to be remade on the N3DS to test out how powerful it really is. It's also to familiarize those who never got their hands on the Wii version since it's rare and expensive, or want to know who more about the game Shulk's from since his reveal from Smash Bros. And if this game will get enough sales, imagine how much it'll get people interested in Xenoblade X. As for the visual, they look more or less the same to me. It looks amazing artistically rather than graphically. You guys gotta understand that they sacrificed the looks of the game for how large and vast the levels are. And I said this on another post if you're going to diss out on 90% of the game (gameplay, story, soundtrack, etc.) because it doesn't have the other 10% (visuals) you'd want, then you have no reason to call yourself a gamer just because some games don't have to look as amazing as you want it to be.
I think it's less that the Wii U doesn't have a huge install base and more that the Wii U is already getting Xenoblade Chronicles X, so they don't want competing software on the same platform.
Your logic is a little stupid. The only reason is because there is A NEW XENOBLADE game coming to the WiiU. It won't make any sense. + A port is cheaper than a complete remaster.

Everyone says how bad GameFreak was at optimising Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by pointing out how Monolith Soft achieved Xenoblade Chronicles 3 running on the Switch. Just as remarkable in my opinion, is how Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is actually playable on the 'New' 3DS systems. It's a very big title and blew me away.
Yup. I did. Most likely only going to work with shulk amiibo, but because that's a gamestop exclusive here in the states. Almost no one will be able to see what it does. (Other than people willing to pay the $50+ scalpers are trying to sell it for.) only other option for us who did not get it from gamestop and not willing to pay that insane amount will have to buy a version from outside the us. Will still cost a lot cuz of shipping.

ChibiMiiTen I don't know where this idea came from or why it's being posted everywhere. It's flat-out not going to happen lol. Unlike XC and XCX, Bayonetta 1 and 2 follow a cohesive storyline, and the original never came to Nintendo consoles before. It was the only option they could take, unless they were to risk even more sales than they already were. At best, the original XC will get a Wii U eShop release some time before XCX.
Obviously, it's not going to happen, especially the idea of a Wii U eShop release (ie Galaxy 2 & Metroid Trilogy); if it did, it would cut into the sales of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Nintendo's push for the NEW Nintendo 3DS. People just want this unlikely scenario to happen bc of the original Western's horrible release via gameStop, and having an uprezzed version over a downrezzed in the 3DS port

You don't want this game in HD just because. I've played it in 1080p emulated, and though it is absolutely gorgeous as is. The game would benefit much more from a full rework. Upgraded textures, models, etc. I'd rather have that, than a simple HD port.
ChibiMiiTen Well I think that's ridiculous, considering it would essentially cut both XC and XCX's profit in half. While I would have preferred an "HD" port for Wii U or at least an eShop release, I don't think this is a particularly terrible idea either. The game probably looks great in 3D. It's just an odd decision.
***** This is actually how it looked on Wii, too, so it's not due to the 3DS. I think the reason the character textures are so low-quality is because they let you see SO FREAKING MUCH in the world from wherever you are. And the world of the game is HUUUUUUUUUUUGE. As chuggaaconroy's said before, there's almost no places in the game that you can see but can never go to. So far, that's looking very true.
***** The thing is, the 3D does not actually decrease the resolution by that much. 3D technology on the 3DS requires the screen in question to have twice as many pixels as usual. Though that sounds like a lot, increasing a screen's resolution is usually much more dramatic because both the height and width have to be increased. For example, 1080p HD has over twice as many pixels as 720p, despite the numbers not being that different. 3D doubles, resolution squares. Assuming Nintendo went without 3D but kept a similar number of pixels on the top screen in the same basic ratio, the resolution would have been about 340 pixels high and 560 wide... which is still only about two thirds of Standard Definition. And that's assuming the bottom screen is unchanged! The resolution would be even lower assuming they also altered the touchscreen, something along the lines of 285 pixels high and 475 wide for the top and 285 by 380 for the bottom. Though I am not entirely sure if 3D was the right choice for Nintendo, the 3DS's resolution would not have been much improved by not including it. The 3D effects add far more than the slightly improved resolution ever could

This is one of my favorite Wii games and I still own it. I beat the game but there was still SO MUCH I wanted to do and had done. So many npc quests, exploring, town building, etc. I had to finally beat the game and put it down so I can make time for new titles to play in my life. I still think about this game all the time though and get such a feeling to play it. It truly was one of my favorite games of all time. The setting was awesome, the story was intriguing with some interesting twists, the exploration was immense, the reward for doing anything was encouraging and pleasing, the combat was fun (especially if you tried switching between characters a lot and learn all their unique strategies or abilities they bring to the table). This is my fave jrpg of all time.
Should we consider New Nintendo 3DS Nintendo's newest system? Instead of just putting it in the 3DS family, is it a whole new thing, similarly to the Game Boy Color? Because I've always categorized Nintendo video game systems by their game format. From NES cartridges, to 64 cartridges, to the different versions of Game Boy Game Paks, and up to the CDs. But New Nintendo has exclusive games, so… I would say that it's a whole new console all in itself! I mean, the Game Boy could play SOME GBC games, similarly to how the 3DS can play SOME N3DS games.
Too be honest I dont see ehy couldnt Nintendo could just update the current 3DS processing power thru an update, the new 3ds has no new parts only the 3d camera and amiibo support

I love this games, it is one of my favorite games of all times. The OST, the gameplay, the astonishing vast world to explore, I can't wait tell the sequel comes out. It will be the best game too come out this year, and Zelda u these two games are going to make 2015 the best year in gaming history, and persona 5 if were lucky.
Nobody should get this version, like literally. The Wii version offers more, at a higher framerate and better resolution. The company that did this port is behind the infamous DKCR 3D port. Which is just terrible.

One: I got DKCR3D and I honestly didn't think it was worse than the Wii version, though I was saddened that it's still as stupidly difficult in the end as ever. Two: It's a super-long game on handheld, what's not to like? Plus, as Sam Hartman said, the Wii version is currently very difficult to find unless you go to eBay where you're guaranteed to pay a lot for it; why bother with that when you can wait 2 more months and get it for like $40 on a handheld, with 3D? It's a great game on the go! It's sure to keep you going for quite a while! What's not to like? :D
I'm probably not going to be playing this game at all because I don't feel like/can't afford to drop $100+ on something I might not even like. The Wii version is too costly due to it's exclusivity, and greedy Nintendo wants us to buy the all 'new' handheld just to play this game essentially. I want to get into it, but Xenoblade's distribution/availability is starting to irk me (fat chance getting a Shulk amiibo!)... If they ever have a Xenoblade movie I bet the tickets will cost $50 a piece, pre-order only >.>

The game as a whole doesn't loon that bad, but Jesus freaking Christ please fix the character's face's. It makes the game look so much worse graphically than it really is.

All 3DS games look like that in trailers like these. The graphics actually look great on the 3DS screen; on par with the Wii version at least. When they upload trailers like this, they rip and edit together footage straight from the game. Part of the process of uploading them online is enlarging the footage aspect ratio which makes the pixel's bigger and everything look much grainier.
These graphics are surprisingly much better than I thought! They've made quite a bit of progress. Easily one of the biggest reasons I had to get the New 3DS instead!
This trailer was so close to spoiling the most emotional part of the story. I loved this game so much on the Wii. I really wish there was an HD version for the Wii U.

This Trailer made me emotional. I had the Wii game when it came out, I've played it so many times. I'm loving the fact that people are finally giving this game the recognition it deserves! So happy! Xxxxxx

The graphics weren't much better on the Wii version either, but this isn't a game you play for the graphics.

In retrospect, this feels more like a benchmark kinda game for the 3DS than anything else
Everyone says how bad GameFreak was at optimising Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by pointing out how Monolith Soft achieved Xenoblade Chronicles 3 running on the Switch.
Just as remarkable in my opinion, is how Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is actually playable on the 'New' 3DS systems. It's a very big title and blew me away.

Yup. I did. Most likely only going to work with shulk amiibo, but because that's a gamestop exclusive here in the states. Almost no one will be able to see what it does. (Other than people willing to pay the $50+ scalpers are trying to sell it for.) only other option for us who did not get it from gamestop and not willing to pay that insane amount will have to buy a version from outside the us. Will still cost a lot cuz of shipping.

they need to do something about the up-scaling of the 3DS trailers , trailers look poor & bad on RUclips but the actual game-play on the 3DS is always perfectly beautiful, every 3DS owner knows what Im talking about

ChibiMiiTen I don't know where this idea came from or why it's being posted everywhere. It's flat-out not going to happen lol. Unlike XC and XCX, Bayonetta 1 and 2 follow a cohesive storyline, and the original never came to Nintendo consoles before. It was the only option they could take, unless they were to risk even more sales than they already were. At best, the original XC will get a Wii U eShop release some time before XCX.
Obviously, it's not going to happen, especially the idea of a Wii U eShop release (ie Galaxy 2 & Metroid Trilogy); if it did, it would cut into the sales of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Nintendo's push for the NEW Nintendo 3DS. People just want this unlikely scenario to happen bc of the original Western's horrible release via gameStop, and having an uprezzed version over a downrezzed in the 3DS port

You don't want this game in HD just because. I've played it in 1080p emulated, and though it is absolutely gorgeous as is. The game would benefit much more from a full rework. Upgraded textures, models, etc. I'd rather have that, than a simple HD port.
ChibiMiiTen Well I think that's ridiculous, considering it would essentially cut both XC and XCX's profit in half. While I would have preferred an "HD" port for Wii U or at least an eShop release, I don't think this is a particularly terrible idea either. The game probably looks great in 3D. It's just an odd decision.

Kind of like most 3DS games lol. But for a game as large as this, I'm surprised they can fit it on a portable system at all.
As for graphics, the 3DS is between the N64 and the GCN. Because it can handle polygons as good as the GameCube can, yet it's much more pixelated.

This is actually how it looked on Wii, too, so it's not due to the 3DS. I think the reason the character textures are so low-quality is because they let you see SO FREAKING MUCH in the world from wherever you are. And the world of the game is HUUUUUUUUUUUGE. As chuggaaconroy's said before, there's almost no places in the game that you can see but can never go to. So far, that's looking very true.
***** The thing is, the 3D does not actually decrease the resolution by that much.
3D technology on the 3DS requires the screen in question to have twice as many pixels as usual. Though that sounds like a lot, increasing a screen's resolution is usually much more dramatic because both the height and width have to be increased. For example, 1080p HD has over twice as many pixels as 720p, despite the numbers not being that different. 3D doubles, resolution squares.
Assuming Nintendo went without 3D but kept a similar number of pixels on the top screen in the same basic ratio, the resolution would have been about 340 pixels high and 560 wide... which is still only about two thirds of Standard Definition. And that's assuming the bottom screen is unchanged! The resolution would be even lower assuming they also altered the touchscreen, something along the lines of 285 pixels high and 475 wide for the top and 285 by 380 for the bottom.
Though I am not entirely sure if 3D was the right choice for Nintendo, the 3DS's resolution would not have been much improved by not including it. The 3D effects add far more than the slightly improved resolution ever could

90Kekse Yeah, and considering that every 3ds game looks better on the console and how much smaller the screen is on the 3ds, it will look pretty awesome. Also we both know that while textures are muddy up close you generally look at them from far away, miles away sometimes :D I can't wait to play it..

This is one of my favorite Wii games and I still own it. I beat the game but there was still SO MUCH I wanted to do and had done. So many npc quests, exploring, town building, etc. I had to finally beat the game and put it down so I can make time for new titles to play in my life. I still think about this game all the time though and get such a feeling to play it. It truly was one of my favorite games of all time. The setting was awesome, the story was intriguing with some interesting twists, the exploration was immense, the reward for doing anything was encouraging and pleasing, the combat was fun (especially if you tried switching between characters a lot and learn all their unique strategies or abilities they bring to the table). This is my fave jrpg of all time.

Should we consider New Nintendo 3DS Nintendo's newest system? Instead of just putting it in the 3DS family, is it a whole new thing, similarly to the Game Boy Color? Because I've always categorized Nintendo video game systems by their game format. From NES cartridges, to 64 cartridges, to the different versions of Game Boy Game Paks, and up to the CDs. But New Nintendo has exclusive games, so… I would say that it's a whole new console all in itself!
I mean, the Game Boy could play SOME GBC games, similarly to how the 3DS can play SOME N3DS games.
The DSi had some exclusive games and features as well. Still, I'd consider the N3DS a much bigger leap from the 3DS than the DSi was for the DS.
Too be honest I dont see ehy couldnt Nintendo could just update the current 3DS processing power thru an update, the new 3ds has no new parts only the 3d camera and amiibo support

I love this games, it is one of my favorite games of all times. The OST, the gameplay, the astonishing vast world to explore, I can't wait tell the sequel comes out. It will be the best game too come out this year, and Zelda u these two games are going to make 2015 the best year in gaming history, and persona 5 if were lucky.

Nobody should get this version, like literally. The Wii version offers more, at a higher framerate and better resolution. The company that did this port is behind the infamous DKCR 3D port. Which is just terrible.
***** The Wii version also hasn't been printed since its original GameStop-exclusive shipment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And DKCR3D wasn't terrible. It was just lazily ported. That, and there just wasn't really anything it offered that was't better on the Wii version, save the control scheme.
One: I got DKCR3D and I honestly didn't think it was worse than the Wii version, though I was saddened that it's still as stupidly difficult in the end as ever. Two: It's a super-long game on handheld, what's not to like? Plus, as Sam Hartman said, the Wii version is currently very difficult to find unless you go to eBay where you're guaranteed to pay a lot for it; why bother with that when you can wait 2 more months and get it for like $40 on a handheld, with 3D? It's a great game on the go! It's sure to keep you going for quite a while! What's not to like? :D
I'm probably not going to be playing this game at all because I don't feel like/can't afford to drop $100+ on something I might not even like. The Wii version is too costly due to it's exclusivity, and greedy Nintendo wants us to buy the all 'new' handheld just to play this game essentially. I want to get into it, but Xenoblade's distribution/availability is starting to irk me (fat chance getting a Shulk amiibo!)... If they ever have a Xenoblade movie I bet the tickets will cost $50 a piece, pre-order only >.>

If they made a New 3DS XL model with the same color scheme as the Monado... That would actually be pretty badass. Just take the red new 3ds xl model, make the buttons be light blue, make some light blue markings, and have the Buster symbol etched on the outside in light blue...

All 3DS games look like that in trailers like these. The graphics actually look great on the 3DS screen; on par with the Wii version at least. When they upload trailers like this, they rip and edit together footage straight from the game. Part of the process of uploading them online is enlarging the footage aspect ratio which makes the pixel's bigger and everything look much grainier.
Honestly, this makes me want to play the entire game again.
