@@wesh4233 2 stroke top ends can be cheap if you do it yourself. Ideally you replace your piston before you start to get wear on you cylinder walls so all you need is a rehone and top end kit.

if your getting a 09 250 it would be around the same as a 05 if i was you id just keep saving and get a fi bike carb bikes are good but in my opinion i think fi is better
Dang you got ripped off unless it’s mint I got a 2017 crf 250r with 20 hours on it for 3500 . I had to drive a couple hours to pick it up but it was worth it and the bikes mint

Same engine really, may be a tad different and the carb that comes on it it is a bit bigger, many people like the 05 carb more, less bog.
