Degree in food tech don't matter whether you have bsc or btech or msc or mtech.. Most of the companies at starting pays you almost the same ie 15k to 20k.. Because 90% of the foodtech in companies involves a Qa/qc role where all science background people will be there. As far as my experience with 2yrs in the industry I will list out the pros and cons in food tech field Pros 1.Your knowledge and common sense will greatly improve. 2.There would be an order in job as well as day to day life. 3.Cleanliness improves and can teach friends and family about that. Cons 1.This field is poorly paid and almost all the companies are running in loss. 2.90% of the people will end up in qa/qc jobs which don't require any rocket science just basic knowledge and common sense is more than enough. 3.Increment and bonus is just a joke in almost all companies especially indian companies. 4.Work hours will be hectic, you won't be having much holidays ie no time with families. 5.Huge competition from bsc, msc, agri, biotech related fields. 6.People will be recruited based on local language, salary, recommendation and not based on knowledge, so even if you are topper the marks are useless here and you will be considered overqualified. Conclusion-I would suggest people to take bsc over btech because you will get one extra year and pay is almost the same and experience counts in this field and those whose base is making money, Pls don't take this field, you won't earn much. P. S:All the mentioned above are purely based on my experience and that might differ from person to person.
This confused me even more...what if we go for mtech after btech??...i have done 12 with pcb...there are already lesser no. Of colleges offering this course for us and there are so many vids boasting about greater oppurtunities in this field...what's the point if it doesn't even pay off our fees
@@pearl_8782 There is literally no advantage going for mtech after btech if you want to have a career in industry... if you want to go for teaching or academic purpose then it's ok... pls remember to do m.tech from well established colleges like NIFTEM, IIFPT, ICT, CFTRI etc... if you do mtech from these colleges then there is a chance of getting into r&d of good companies.. All the boasting done by this colleges are fake.... 70% of the passed out people get jobs through references, naukri etc.... and salary is very low that is a reality and with covid it makes life hell.... No sales is happening.... there will be layoffs, low new recruitment....

I don't think there's a lot of inorganic chemistry in B.Tech, however there is organic chemistry. If you can't mug up that is fine, no problem. Try to understand the reason why the process happens the way it happens. Try to connect it with real life situations. That way, it will be a little bit easier for you to memorize and retain concepts.

I don't think either one has an edge over the other. And there's not much difference in curriculum. However, I'd look at the college which is providing that course. If the college is well known and has good record then I'd go with it irrespective of honours or not honours.

Sir, The differences you've mentioned here are not appropriate or logically correct. Being a MSc student I've studied both science matter + technical methods + how to handle equipments ( misconception of getting this into the account of btech studies) + applied science ( and please don't forget about the trainings and dissertation or training report which is must for any msc student) Secondly, I don't think so that any course whose base is science is just limited to theoretical in any college. Thirdly, your words sounds the same as of any other "tech" student....that those are much superior students than any other field.

They're almost the same. Food science and technology will focus on application part as well whereas food science and nutrition will involve more theoretical part and not the applications in food industry.

They do provide some scholarship in Mtech if you have very good scores in Btech and the scholarship continues only if you keep on scoring the highest.But rules for scholarship may change.

Some of the jobs require physical labour but there are jobs which don't require this at all. You can go for bsc

For industry, priority is given to B.tech but students can get entry based on only B.Sc or M.Sc as well. It depends on the student as well

NIFTEM, ICT Mumbai and IIFPT are the best. You'll need maths to qualify JEE Mains which is required for NIFTEM and ICT. IIFPT has its own entrance.

They're almost the same. Food science and technology will focus on application part as well whereas food science and nutrition will involve more theoretical part and not the applications in food industry.

I don't know about scholarships but IIFPT is a great college and have good placements as well.
They do provide some scholarship in Mtech if you have very good scores in Btech and the scholarship continues only if you keep on scoring the highest.But rules for scholarship may change.

That's the main difference. Duration of the course. Also, after bsc honors you'll be eligible to appear for GATE but not after regular bsc of 3 years.

I took a drop for a year i earned the sum of 8 lacs with just 1 lakh rupees with our very own indian companies like varun beverage shares and it company like affel will i be able to go for btech as apcb student i was great and good in biology and chemistry I scored only 82%. hsc board in 2020 and i gave the exam😅

You can go for LPU. Most of the colleges providing B.Tech ask for maths, but LPU is an exception.
