It’s too quiet even with a cloudlifter? That’s pretty strange…are you speaking into it quietly or not getting very close? I haven’t heard of issues when a cloudlifter is being used
Hey Ryan. Your channel got recommended. It was actually the video "How to kill a RUclips channel'. I really liked that video also. I liked about this video that you also watched other reviews, that makes this even a more valuable review. I am looking into improving my audio, since I record with an Android phone. I subscribed, and thanks for making the videos!
Hey I’m glad you’re finding the content helpful! Hopefully a few different videos that help you out, but let me know if there are specific things you’re wanting help improving!
My guess is that the others who have complained about it “cutting out” are using AGC, and the low frequency wind noise is triggering the gain to be cut too much - so the voice ends up disappearing. I bought one of these as well because of its size (and I have plenty of other mics). So far, impressed with it considering the price. Works well on my iPhone as well.
Interesting I myself use the Røde video micro on my daily camera as everything becomes compact and also not so expensive to replace when everything has been damaged by moisture 😅But I agree that the Rode is no shotgun either. It is a big difference to a real shotgun microphone like Rode videomic pro where you can catch the sound of a ship 500 meters / quarter of a mile away 😀
I have to know ! Will this be good for say meetings and if I wanna go ahead and play video games with friends and twitch. I hate horrible mics while I hear what I am playing but also I want to broadcast better
It could work for that, but because it uses a 3.5mm cake you’d probably end up plugging it into the 3.5mm jack on your computer or phone, and wouldn’t be able to use headphones at the same time. The included cable is probably a bit short as well. So I imagine the sound quality would be fine, but the practicalities of it may be a bit frustrating. If streaming and video calls are your priority a USB mic could be a better option
What audio gear have you invested in so far?
Good video thanks mate. I've got a Rode Procaster connected to a Scarlett Focusrite and a cloudlifter. The gain is too low, any suggestions?

Ah yeah could well be that!

Yep, it's just about getting the right mic for the job!
