That might be a rice spoon. Lots of rice cookers come with them, but they're common-ish in places where rice is a staple food.
You put it on your stove in the middle... its for placing your stirring spoons or dirty ladles while cooking so you don't get the stove dirty with whatever sauce or soup your making.
I looked up "wooden rice spoon" and it looked similar to what Taylor was tapping on! That's my best guess as well.

You should paint the coasters as famous book titles instead of the encyclopedias. That would look really cute!

I'm stressed that you want to repaint it white and remove the stickers because the dark wood and stickers are the best parts
I think she should just paint over/peel off the stickers and make her own little edges, but I totally agree that the dark wood is the best part. It would be such a neat video to watch her painting on the sides of the coasters tho

I think that big wooden spoon is for when you’re cooking you place your dirty spatula on it so it doesn’t dirty your stovetop or countertop
