Thank you! 😊 Glad you like it. you can see those horrible edges if you look closely but I think most people wouldn't notice - and as I said - it'll be a useful little thing for my bathroom :)
Thanks and yes, I was relieved to pretty much save it. I've now found with that mould that some spray mount on the back of the inlays works, otherwise for some reason they just dont stay put
Hi, sorry it didn't go to plan but pleased to see others who are more experienced than me also have things go wrong. It's good to see how you still make them work and not just ditch them. I have a big pile of things that did not go to plan 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, yes I hate throwing things away. Some things, as long as they have fully cured, I use for testing things on, so there's always a pot of things made from leftovers and a few fails to hand for experiments. I don't tend to do a test run with a new technique before i make a video so what you see is often the first try so I'm learning as well. As my Mum would say - you're seeing it "warts and all"
Oh, I could watch your aquarium for an hour! 😍 I remember Claire had warned us a couple times about some silicone stamps don't stick to silicone molds, and some do. This turned out beautifully, Tracey, and I'd be proud to have that in my bathroom!
aw thanks I'm glad you like it. And the fish - sometime I might do a long video of them so people can leave it on loop like a screensaver lol. The Angels are getting a bit feisty at the moment. I think they are reaching puberty and at least 1 of them is definitely turning out to be a boy. " Gabriel" the red headed koi angel is starting to stamp his authority. Maybe babies one day
Good save... I love when a artist shows their mistakes and how to save it... It shows that even a artist has been doing it for awhile makes mistakes too. Thank you so much for sharing
very true, and I think we learn by mistakes so good to share. we're all human - I bet no one ever gets it right 100% of the time and it is healthy to share that. We can learn by each others' mistakes then. Thanks for your support
Sometimes things just dont go to plan, thats life! But, you did manage to save it, i think it looks great, well done. I love it when people show videos when things dont work, we all make mistakes, its how we learn. Thanks fir another great video 😀
I second the idea of sticking the leaves to something so they don’t get powder on the backs. And maybe give them a bit of a rub on a baby wipe. It turned out so nicely, and we had the bonus lesson on fixing boo-boos. 👍🏼
Yes I'll stick them down next time, that's a good idea. I did wipe the backs, though I think off screen, but to no avail :) Maybe I missed a couple of them
I think this turned out really cute. It would look good in my bathroom as well. 😊 I wonder if the leaves that didn't stick got a little mica powder on the backs? Glad you made it work😍
Your save is just fine. Where the edges might look a little ragged, you can just blame on nature. After all, when leaves fall, they start to wrinkle and change colour, which is what this looks like to me. Another great video , and many thanks .
Solids as in the sand? Yes I often do, just didn't want to with this one :) It does work, I do that with glitter, but as the sand is so heavy it drops and clears the bubbles pretty much anyway. Sometimes I run the resin through the Airless machine too. Bubbles in this project were acceptable anyway for this theme, the thing with the inlays was a nightmare though. However I now have a fix for that :)
I wonder if some spray glue or rubber glue on the inlays would hold them to the silicon mold and maybe not hurt the mold. The leaves look like short feathers to me. I love how it looks at the end. Thank you😊
I had the same thought as I'm just working on another project with that mould and it still won't stick. so I Have used sme spray mount on the back. We'll soon see if it works
Hi Tracey think you got mica under some of the stamps think that's why they lifted, topcoat are the best the cover alot, you could have warmed up the resin to help it come off the stamps easier, still a beautiful tray 😍 glad you were able to save it thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
I did wipe the back of them off camera though I might have missed one or two - but have since tried that mould with no mica at all and the same happened. I think it might just be one of those moulds that they just don't want to stick to :(
Just watching this as i'm about to try some stamps as inlays. I think your stamps might have lost their stickiness, it happens a lot to me when I use a stamp block while stamping with them so all you have to do is wash them with hot soapy water to get the stickiness back, then leave to air dry. If that doesn't work, I end up using a Zig pen that goes on blue then turns white when it's tacky so that might work when sticking to resin too. I got my Let's Resin silicone and had a go last night on a 3d embossing folder, it turned out well although a bit thin on one of the sides but I also made a mess trying to use it on rubber stamps, it didn't cure and just run off onto the tray so might have to try the rubber stamps by making a mould with clay. I have so many lovely Sheena Douglass stamps, they would have made beautiful inlays
Great tips - they are silicone inlays not stamps though and they are very clingy, I've used them a lot since. It's VERY soft silicone. I think the mould is just getting old and isn't as shiny as it used to be :)
Not yet! However I think they might be difficult to remove. Silicone is so very soft so unless you have the disaster I had here they are easy to remove. Plastic is more rigid so might prove tricky. Not sure how easily resin unsticks from plastic generally either, night need to experiment with release spray. If you do it - would you share with us all here how it goes please?
Still the tray turned out super gorgeous,ms Tracey, each and every creation is a learning process 💜😍
Thanks so much 😊
Shells and leaves , two elements you never see together , awesome idea and beautiful
Thank you, glad you like it :)
I think it came out lovely ❤ you didn't give up and you saved it. That's what makes it especially nice! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you! 😊 Glad you like it. you can see those horrible edges if you look closely but I think most people wouldn't notice - and as I said - it'll be a useful little thing for my bathroom :)
Despite the mistakes, this came out lovely! I let out an audible "ooohhh" when you got that first inlay out because it looked so good.
Thanks and yes, I was relieved to pretty much save it. I've now found with that mould that some spray mount on the back of the inlays works, otherwise for some reason they just dont stay put
Thank you for sharing your videos, I would put the little leaves on a tile to colour them so you don't get any mica powder on the back. 😊
Great idea! Thanks for the tip
Wow, Amazing Save !!! The tray turned out Beautiful after all that. Awesome Job !!! 👍😻😻😻👍
Thank you! 😊
I think it looked amazing it actually gave the tray a natural rustic look 😊
I guess it sort of did, I hadn't thought of it like that. Thanks, and i'm glad you like it :)
Glad you were able to save this! It is still very pretty ❣️💕💖
Thanks, it's now stashed ready for when we redecorate the bathroom
It came out really beautiful. In the end. The fun thing about making mistakes is we can fix so beautiful 😊😊
Yes I guess so Bex and it's all a learning exercise so i like to share these :) Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated

Well I love it Tracey. Excellent save I must say. I had an inlay get swallowed up never to be seen again 😂
Oh no! I can now see how easily that can happen. Glad you like this one Coyote
Beautiful Hun mistakes and all xx❤
Thanks :) It's now awaiting the refurb of m y bathroom to take it's place on the windowsill :)

So true Vanessa! AndI used to find that it was good to see that it wasn't just me that disasters happen to lol :)
Great save! It's a cute tray... and you learned!
Indeed! Glad you like it

I like the look of this! It is definitely a Jurassic theme. Next we need a dinosaur footprint in that sand! 🤪
ohhhh I hadn't thought of that.... you've got me thinking!
Thanks for a great video and for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful ❤
Thanks
Great save its beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Ooops! Looks ok in the end!
Yes, not perfect but cute. It's now on duty in my bathroom :)
What a cool tray, I love it!
Thank you! 😊
I think this turned out really cute. It would look good in my bathroom as well. 😊 I wonder if the leaves that didn't stick got a little mica powder on the backs? Glad you made it work😍
I did wonder that but then - I had wiped them off so I'm not sure. I'll be checking for that a lot more carefully next time though :) Glad you like it
So glad you saved it after all the work you put in.Thank you for sharing Tracey.😄
Me too!! I hate having to waste anything. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Love the tray!
Thanks. I know it's not perfect but I'm glad I didn't just leave it in the bin

That's true :) I do like to pretend mistakes are deliberate haha. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like it
Wow,Ms Tracey this soap tray is so cool .Your videos and tricks to help saving the creations are amazing 👏 💜
Thanks so much 😊
So pretty.
Thank you! 😊
If you put your inlays on tape before dusting them it keeps the backs clean so they stick to the mold better
Good idea, I really should do that next time, thanks for the tip :)
When adding solids have you ever considered pouring a little bit of resin first? It helps me with bubbles and divots from bubbles.
Solids as in the sand? Yes I often do, just didn't want to with this one :) It does work, I do that with glitter, but as the sand is so heavy it drops and clears the bubbles pretty much anyway. @@miniscenesgb great. Hope it does work.

@@miniscenesgb ah right maybe your right then , how annoying 😤 eh 😂 ❤️❤️❤️ xxx
@@michelle_resinrebel Yeh though I know I have had this happen once before and it was definitely what you said, so it's always something to be wary of
I was forced to become ambidextrous when I broke my right hand in primary school. But I do the same thing with my resin when pouring 😂
It's a useful skill. I should practice again.
Just watching this as i'm about to try some stamps as inlays. Have you used plastic inlays? I bought a bunch of stencils and they are plastic. I am worried I will create an u nretrievable mess. Good save today.
Not yet! However I think they might be difficult to remove. Silicone is so very soft so unless you have the disaster I had here they are easy to remove. Plastic is more rigid so might prove tricky. Great save! I just subscribed ❤❤❤
Yay! Thank you! I'm glad you likes this one. I sure did stress over it at one point :)
Cream background
Yes would be nice with a cream background I think
Just pour clear over it.
huh? seal the inlays in? I;m not sure what you mean?
