    Why do Americans wear that glove and put the cue into the hole you make with your fingers

    • @davidmellish3295
      @davidmellish3295 5 лет назад +1

      The glove is to stop the cue rubbing, but that STUPID bridge they make putting the cue through a hole made with there fingers,the day I see a top snooker player use that bridge is the day I might think theres something to it.
      I'm not hating on pool I prefer it to snooker BUT the snooker players definitely have better stance and stroke and not one of them uses that bridge no matter what country they are from.
      Perhaps there is a valid reason for using it in pool,I just assumed it's cause they are not professionally trained like the snooker players so people just copy other people cause they don't know any different. With the snooker players their coach will work on them pushing the cue through in a dead straight line for hours and they are trained to have a solid bridge.
      I think as the pool table pockets are so MUCH MORE forgiving that it probably doesn't matter if they don't cue as good as the snooker players as u don't have to be as accurate in pool as u can cheat the pockets and go in off the rail etc putting is easy in pool it's the position play that's the real skill
      In snooker the pockets are a lot smaller so u have to be dead accurate hitting the centre of the pocket do they are trained to stand like they got a cue stuck up their ass the hand must be flat,the cue close to the chin and it must be delivered in a dead straight line,u must not move your head as well etc,just like golf
      If there is an actual valid reason for that bridge I'd love to hear it.
      I play pool but I copy how the snooker players stroje the ball (or try to lol) as I have played on both tables and snooker is much harder,anyone that says different has NEVER EVER played on a snooker table, I love pool but the snooker players have my upmost respect after trying their table I realize just how good they are and how easy they make it look on TV.
      I can HONESTLY say there are a lot of pool games I have watched and I know I can make the shots I'm watching but I could hardly string any balls together in snooker so I reckon if there was anything to making that bridge the snooker players would use it,as there is a lot more money in snooker (prizes not side bets) why would they not use that bridge if it was a better way of cueing

    • @Ytuserqf
      @Ytuserqf 5 лет назад

      @@davidmellish3295 All of the 3 cushion players use a closed bridge. So the argument isnt as simple as youve stated. Both have their pros and cons. To name a few: an open bridge(snooker bridge) provides much better line of sight, which is by far more useful in snooker, but it also brings some instability in the cue action. You cant really analyze this by looking a osullivans cueing. On the other hand, a closed bridge is much much more stable which is crucial when using the maximum points of the ball (which is oftenly used in 3C play). Obviously though, the closed bridge isnt as good as the open bridge when it comes to vision. But in 3C long distance shots dont occur often if you know position play. Also in pool the distances are much smaller and with good position play, a player wont be shooting anything more than a medium range shot which is fine with a closed bridge. As for your comparisons between billiard sports, my advice is to keep an open mind as all of these sports come from the same point. The never ending comparison between snooker and pool is really boring to be honest. I am 3c player and i play both pool and snooker as well, and i can say every single one is fun to play. But to be able to say snooker is the hardest of all, you have to be a pro in all of them i think. When you say, in snooker you have to be accurate it isnt really a good argument. For example if you hit the cue ball 1mm off in 3C after 5 rails you will miss by centimeters. So, again, i advise to keep an open mind and try not to offend people's feelings as i think all billiard players should respect each other

      @@Ytuserqf I do keep an open mind ,personally I LOVE pool,I prefer it to snooker,but I'm just being honest it is a lot easier as I can run the table in pool but I can't score very high in snooker I wasn't really talking about 3 cushion.
      My point wasn't to insult it is just that the snooker players are professionally coached a log more than the pool players and the bridge they use in snooker is the only one that is taught.
      If the other bridge was any good surely they would use it.They practice for hours on there stance (which looks like they got something ul they're asses with the cue by the chin and pushed through in adead straight line.and I'm sorry but U DO have to be more accurate in snooker as the pockets DON'T accept the balls as easily as in pool.
      I'm not commenting on 3 cushion as I don't play it so I don't comment on it because how can I talk about something I don't know?
      I'm not hating on any cue sport just cause I'm saying it's harder to pot in snooker ISN'T an insult to pool as pool is what I play.
      I think the reason I may prefer it is that I'm ok at it and I'm rubbish at snooker, if I go to my local club I always play snooker first,then I play pool and I don't miss lol
      This is definitely cause the pockets aren't as excepting in snooker so I may just be 1cm off which means a miss then I play the same shot in pool and the ball drops.
      They are all different as u say and the real skill in pool is in the position play as most open pots are easy to sink but the skill is in sinking the ball and landing on the next ball

      @Ytuserqf 5 лет назад

      @@davidmellish3295 Well said to be honest. I didnt mean to be offensive. I just wanted to highlight the difference between the two bridges. I urge you to try playing 3C if you ever get the chance. There are incredible systems (for example Tuzul System) which will improve your 'kick shots' in pool and safety play in snooker. A whole new perspective to look at the billiards table. Best regards
