Jon better blow up after this interview. Just like when Sway interviewed Logic, Logic blew up right after Sway interviewed him and Logic's 5 Fingers of Death has over 2 million views
Being a huge fan of Logic, (naturally) I'd heard of Jon Bellion through Visionary. Sure, I'd heard his features with Logic and a couple originals, but I'd never really gone out of my way to hear who he was. This interview was my outlet. I now recognize this man as a talented, musical genius. Thank you, Sway (and company), for making this happen.
Was just introduced to his music by my daughter and my son just found him about the same time. We all (including my 7 year old grandson who sings along cause he knows the words already) love his music. My son who’s 27 says Jon is his favorite artist right now. My daughter is 24, soon to be 25 and I’m 67!
***** im not the biggest fan of coloring book, he went mainstream. no vic, twista, or gam on any tracks. instead its 2 chainz, wayne, kanye, future and JB. i dont like the sound of some of the tracks. acid rap still my smoking jam for now
I couldn't give this guy enough praise. Jon Bellion is brilliant lyrically, instrumentally, and even vocally. I don't even like his usual style of music (found him through rap with VMG crew), but anyone who isn't biased from a musical-style perspective cannot deny his exceptional talent: - Lyricism relates to every demographic and touches the core of humanity. His songs genuinely tell a story, have a message, or share a perspective. Don't get me wrong; many artists do this, but it's the perfect combination of his style (lyrically, instrumentally, vocally) that make his music so stirking. - Instrumentals incorporate nearly every style of modern music, and more impressively, sound unique in an age of copycats. I can't say I've heard music that sounds quite like Bellion... Of course elements of it can be drawn back to other genres or songs, but the difference is that it is unique across every major category. Personally, his work is beyond this time and sounds like the result of instruments/instrumentals through centuries of musical evolution. - Vocally is what probably both attracts and detracts most people. While many people recognize his obvious vocal talent, I think there's a majority (strictly rap listeners, or those unexposed to genres outside of mainstream radio) that quickly become turned off due to the emotion and maybe "softness" of the sound. With that said: it's bullshit. Why wouldn't you utilize a voice like that? My only request to Jon Bellion is that he does incorporate more raps because as shown in this video, he is better than 99% of the rappers in this game. Currently, his music is like ~30% rap, and if he released even an EP or 5 tracks where he went as hard as this or 24 Freestyle (my favorite), he'd put himself out there as people recognize his unique talent. Jon Bellion - hope you see this.
I love watching interviews and videos of Jon and people reacting to his music and really vibing and enjoying his music bc you can tell it comes from such a beautiful, sincere place. His success makes me so happy
i follow jon for like 2-3 years now ,i dont quite remember .. but what he said about trying to make each song he made being better than the last one ;is so true ... every song that came out was even better than the last one and each time i was so freaking glad to hear something from him again
Taken me a while to think of a response to this.. I'm not excusing wrong/sin.. However none of us are perfect y'know? This life we live is to glorify our Creator and our God, and I think that's what he endeavors to do.. We can all do better though
Romario Smith don't sign off on wisdom just cuz the packaging is hard to swallow, people can speak God's truth and reach more people with foul language in Hip Hop and make a bigger impact than those preachers on TV
Jon Bellion is my favorite non rapper artist. He is AMAZING! I hope he collabs with Eminem who is my favorite artist period. I would be so happy. But fr I feel Jon's music in my soul
UPDATE!! I wrote the below comment about 5 months ago when I had missed Jon's concert at House of Blues, Dallas. Fast-forward to 2 weeks ago and he came back and… I saw him!! It was definitely worth the wait!! :-) Now here's the original comment made 5 months ago: I feel really bad today in that I purchased the tickets for House of Blues Dallas (to see Jon who played last night) MONTHS in advance (as SOON as they went on sale) and neglected to mark it down on my July calendar ... and… I freaking missed seeing the show last night!! Talk about a downer. Hope he comes back to Dallas or maybe catch him in LA when he plays in a few weeks.
Sway kills it usually but he was behind on this one. Jon Bellion has been killing it for years. Been rocking his music since 2012-2013. True artist there
man that might have been the best 5 fingers of death I've watched..... dude gets big respect for that..... he ate the Pharell beat man. artist nowadays can barely crank there own tracks let alone tear it apart....... man that was something to watch
i went to see jon live on tuesday, man he was fire everything he did he did it right even mixed up some of the songs remixing them, future of a lot of songwriters and rappers/singers
I found jon bellion before his studio albums and I loved his music from the start... I was that kid in the lunchroom forcing my earbuds into peoples ears haha
I know this is my 3rd comment… Well, I just finished the whole interview and for somebody who basically "hates rap" (my favorite categories music is solo New Age piano) I can tell you I absolutely love Bellion's stuff! Strange story as to how I discovered him: so, my father is an actor in Los Angeles and had the honor of being in a Ceelo Green music video (as a token white janitor in an all black jazz club which I think takes place in the 50s or 60s!). Being a big fan of Ceelo's music, I was floored to hear that he got that job and went on the net to find out what Ceelo Had been up to and found that song Robin Williams! It is definitely my favorite Ceelo Green tune to date… So I just had to figure out who wrote it and produced it because it was so brilliant and moved me so much. That's when I found out that it was co-written and produced by some guy named Jon Bellion... Went on to you tunes and found "Luxury" and "The Making of Luxury" videos and I was hooked/the rest is history! I guess if I had to say pick a 2nd favorite song next to luxury (my favorite) I might pick "Simple and Sweet," partly because of that awesome video.
I'm telling y'all Jon Bellion is the real deal. Lovers of real music of all blends appreciate this dude!
hellll yes dude one of my favorite dudes alive makin music right now. gonna see him next month and I'm so excited

+Mason M That's probably just him trying something new/new people.

The Luxury music video reminds me a lot of Coraline. I love it.
He wrote the hook for monster 😱😱
yep
he also produced /helped write "trumpets" by jason derulo
And helped produce a song for cee lo
Boy Wonder what is a hook? English is not my language...
Zed ODA hook is kinda like the chorus
he's underrated cus he won't sign his soul to the devil.
signed to capital
Forreal, nowadays in America only "rappers" who sold their souls make loads of money
+Edward Brown Not necessarily true.
+ᴊᴀʏ ™ prove that I'm wrong then
+Edward Brown Sure, I'll try.
Well, Joey Bad@$$ comes to mind. Common is kind of underrated too.
Jon is such a huge inspiration to me. His music and mindset are the one thing I can hold on to in this difficult time of my life. Thank you

So pumped to see Jon here! Been waiting so long to see him here.

Some castle was his writing school...and the songs they wrote are hit songs in america.
For some reason that is kinda scary
BUT I DIG HIS MUSIC THO
do they sell his album at your best buy?
I thought I was the only person that peeped that. Makes you wonder who is really controlling the music. Sounds like a Walmart for songs.
you should cop all human conditions in best buy you work at lmao
what? lol im confused
Illuminati 🥸
"My Joy Lies In The Son You Should Jump On That" ✨🙏🏾
idk if can kick it with this dude. he says a Christian but his mouth is so foul smh
Taken me a while to think of a response to this.. I'm not excusing wrong/sin.. However none of us are perfect y'know? This life we live is to glorify our Creator and our God, and I think that's what he endeavors to do.. We can all do better though
Romario Smith I mean, he's worked with Andy Mineo before and I'm pretty sure Andy has started an interest for Jon in Christianity :)
Romario Smith don't sign off on wisdom just cuz the packaging is hard to swallow, people can speak God's truth and reach more people with foul language in Hip Hop and make a bigger impact than those preachers on TV

This man makes me have REALLY high expectations for music.
I never thought the day would come when someone would knock "Nothing was the same" off of my #1 top album. Thank you Jon, for "The Human Condition."
This guy is crazy talented and finally getting the recognition he deserves
Oh man, that's so dope that the artist for the album is Indonesian and it fits perfectly because my parents are Indonesian too :")
Sometimes being different is better than being better.
I was singing weight of the world at 22:20 and I the lyrics I was about to sing literally came on at the perfect moment. That was crazy😳
Way to keep emphasising that nobody has ever heard of him. I'm sure he felt really good hearing that.
been listening since translations came out, happy to see jons finally getting the recognition he deserved
good positive vibe from this kid, very humble too.
So.....I JUST GOT GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!! JON BELLION IS A TRUE ARTIST!!!!

You should really change the title, he wrote the hook for monster. The title makes it sound like he wrote em's verses
thats why they made the title like that lol click bait
Yeah I hope you get sued man smh
+JustinBlazzzee it's the only reason I clicked the video lol
Clickbait is the new RUclips....
Saying "Writing The Hook For "The Monster" By Eminem" is a bit much for a title
