I love Kinger and how he keeps getting put in positions of authority for no reason whatsoever
I guess is Just a running joke bcs he is a King chess piece. In chess the king is one of the weaker pieces, while in real life kings hold all the Power

I loved how this episode highlighted the way Jax and Ragatha are foils for each other. They both have trauma they hide with toxic personas, but while Ragatha values her feelings less than everyone else, Jax just acts like he doesn't give a shit. Opposite reactions to the same problem.

I like how Pomni was relatively stable throughout all of this, easily the most stable we've seen her so far. She's just comfortable when things aren't weird and are relatively normal.

Pomni being the one that is able to get along with everybody and not simply hating Jax feels like it's setting up to Ragatha feeling inadequate since not everybody really likes spending time with her, so she might end up abstracting soon

I love the detail of Jax looking away when Ragatha mentions her mother. It creates an interesting parallel between the two. One handles their trauma through an optimistic attitude, the other handles it through pushing everyone away.

Ragatha growing up with an abusive mom is something I actually never thought id hear of, and zooble being a tattoo and bartender. I absolutely adore the past and lore of the people it’s crazy how amazing glitch and gooseworx can make character development on the next level, super excited to see the next episodes!

It kinda makes sense considering how ragatha's actions are in the series. She gives people pleaser vibes from when she got drunk on stupid sauce and just trying to keep things happy so others don't get upset. When Jax bullies and she scolds him it could be her projecting what she probably would wanna do to her mom but never had the courage to. And the blow up she had when she thought she had a go ahead makes sense. Putting on a happy bit and being told you can let go can make that bottle burst vs a slower release

It reminds me a lot of Loona. someone else who was heavily judged by her appearance and relationship, but when everyone found out how horrible her past was, they started to realize she acts like that because she's afraid people will keep judging her and push her away. Viv even confirmed it when explaining why she beat up Blitz in the Seeing Stars episode, "She had a lot of pent up anger and feelings of betrayal." meaning (and reaffirming) Blitz was in the wrong to let Moxxie convinced him to dump Loona.
At 6:16 bubble is in the macro verse which we see in episode one WITH THE EXIT DOOR. We also know that Caine only knows about three pictures during episode 7. Is bubble more powerful then we think? Also what was that noise?
In the bar scene, after Ragatha finishes talking about her mom, you can see that Jax looks sad for ragatha, and then he decides to break the tension of the momento by talking to Kinger, and making the moment less embarrasing for Ragatha, brilliant.
Thats a cool tidbit I didn't think about. Jax doing something for Ragatha in a way that doesn't look like it does seem in character for him. He seems to care for his friends, even if it don't seem like it.

I just realized that in the Stargazing Adventure was the first actual time Pomni seemed truly happy. It was probably how chill and calming it was then the usual wacky chaotic adventures that have left her traumatized. This explains that Pomni seems to like things that are mostly comfortable and normal like activities.
It makes me wonder if that one was her suggestion; she’s the only one that didn’t seem to have a showcased suggestion (besides Kinger), and that adventure is also the only one we don’t actually know who made. It never gets mentioned.

I just realized that when Pomni mentions Kinger's wife, no one knows about it. This means that Kinger has been in the circus for a WHILE, A LONG WHILE, even more than Ragatha. That also means he never got the chance to tell anyone about it, meaning he had to wait so long to finally open up to someone about it (Pomni).
AND! He also doesn't really remember it because he's in his clearest state of mind when he's only in the dark (which is why he has his little pillow fort :3)

well we already knew he'd been here longer than Ragatha because Jax said he'd been here the longest in the first episode and Kinger said he remembered Ragatha's first few days at the circus in episode 2. But it is weird that Kinger never told anyone else about his wife, and yet it seems so obvious to us; there's even a room of her in the bedroom hallway with the X over it showing she abstracted. Strange that nobody noticed that.
I think kinger made the AI. He said “7 years of computer science for this” when he had his sanity too, which I think was a hint that he created the program everyone is stuck inside.

Its interesting see Jax actually opening up to Pomni, along with Ragatha bringing up memories of the past for Jax. Its nice.
It was always pretty obvious he wanted to, but was scared of actually putting himself out there.

The noir bar scene has an interesting rendering style. Everything is rendered in grayscale but the shadows reflecting on the characters are their own character colors.

At the end you can see why ragatha is trying so hard to get pomni to like her. Everyone gravitates to someone in the circus, except for ragatha, despite being there longer than pomni she doesnt have a friend

Being a people pleaser is a lonely experience, trying to get everyone to like you relies heavily on hiding certain aspects of oneself that you fear may be unsavory or uncomfortable or annoying, and since it changes from person to person, and you're obliged to act calm and collected and happy all the time, there's never a real chance for the most authentic parts of yourself to come through and form tangible, earnest connections

In ep 4 when Ragatha got the “stupid sauce” In her eye she mentioned a lot of things that at the time made no sense. But after re-watching the episode after hearing about Ragatha’s mother they make a lt of sense. She comments on how the relationship of the gloink queen and her children Is beautiful, says she misses her horses (Since she was a farm girl) and she says she’s hurt enough with the dancing lessons, tea parties and etc. Goose really did a great job with this one

I really loved the scene where Pomni says, 'I can think for myself.' to Ragatha and Jax. Sorta makes me notice how Rag kinda presses her and Pomni's friendship sometimes. Also, Rag having an abusive mother makes ALOT of sense.

Also much like her explicitly stating her age like her pointing out she isn't a child in Episode 2. Through telling Ragatha she's a grown adult who can make her own decisions and doesn't need to be babied, the show's also telling the fandom she's an adult since back in the days of the pilot Jax calling her "kid" once led to some age discourse.
Something about the credits at the end always made me feel eerie. Everyone is facing towards us, except Jax. His back and head face away from us, like characters that get killed off or are no longer a part of the story.
I like how Evil Jax is just a little sweetheart that sounds exactly like N. Fitting, since they have very similar personalities.

One of the things I think is more significant than at first glance is Jax's reactions to him not having a tail and becoming vegan. From episode one Jax has shown he has more of an understanding of the circus than others, like him having keys to all the rooms, and a nonchalant attitude to dangerous scenarios, but now not only does he realize he knows less than he thought, now he has no idea how much of him has been altered since he arrived.

Yeah. Also he is really unnerved when Cain do something with their mental side.He doesn't like that Cain can make him vegan or "training" in the fast food episode, and that others doesn't seem to think serious about that. He is right about that though
yeah the digital circus is horrific. Jax’s detachment, essentially treating it more like a video game than a reality he’s trapped in, is clearly his coping mechanism, but it can’t protect him from everything.
That honestly makes me question if Jax is even the original instance of Jax anymore.

I just noticed when Jax was talking to Pomni under the stars, it feels different because she's not overly insane, optimistic, annoyed or scared. She's able to express her emotions and opinions, even asking Jax directly if he doesn't have friends before Ragatha pushed it down.
She didn't scold him or ignore him, giving agreements to some of his points and telling him how he didn't have a tail when she came in
In return, he's able to soften for her and lower his guard

Well yes, and in this chapter there are actually many silences.
I mean, the chapter is very calm and the dialogues are more casual, more so in the part where they are in peace in the forest and it happens about Jax's friend.
It makes the interactions more genuine.
It feels like they are just engaging in actual conversations so it is absolutely lovely indeed!

I don’t think people mention it enough but I adore Gangle and Zooble’s interactions throughout this episode, the way Zooble always asks for Gangle’s opinion or helps her to feel more comfortable with expressing her interests really warmed my heart.

If you pause when Jax is running down the hallway during intermission, he stops infront of a crossed-out door with a picture of a frog with a bow tie surrounded by abstraction eyes. Are they Jax's friend that got abstracted and what Ragatha was talking about in the firefly adventure? This might be why he's the way he is. Im living for all the Jax lore in this episode
Yeah this episode is to Jax as Seeing stars is to Loona. Once people saw that episode, all the hate for Loona's "attitude" went away as we finally saw why she is the way she is and why Blitz going out of his way to protect her and keep her happy is so important.

Honestly, the way Jax talks about Ragatha at 8:52 makes me think he USED to find comfort in Ragatha when he first got into the digital circus, but as time went on, that comfortable feeling he had with Ragatha disappeared. Like Gangle said, it’s hard to tell when Ragatha is genuine.

I don't think so... i think she is acctually just a nice person (super rare, but real) but since its not commun, people aren't use to it, and sometimes she really tries to keep up to be the pilar of sanity and positive so they all don't drown, they don't understand and doubt her.
I feel like, esp. with her abusive parent being brought up, she was *forced* to be positive in the company of others during her upbringing
