Hey Wes, Great job, I used the same ramp for my shed. I did something a little different, I had shingles left over and put them over the wood. Makes a great non slip surface…
Stacey, I went with the size of my shed and door. I used 2, 2X8 cut in and angle for the ramps, and 8, 2X6X10 for the flooring. My door length was 10 feet wide. All worked great. Hope this helps.
Hello, my wife and I got up this morning and saw your video on how to build a shed ramp. So we wrote a list of the material needed and went shopping. Even with the high cost of lumber we only spent a little over 200.00 dollars. We started the project at 1:00 pm and at 3:00 pm it was completed and very, very sturdy. Wow my, John Deere tractor loves it. Thank you for sharing the well-explained instructions. Take Care and Best Regards. 👍👍👍
You really didn't give much information on how to really build it ??.. Could use some dimensions or tips ... Can't really tell when everything is in fast motion 😕😕
That's because most sheds are different size and different level off the ground so it's all custom measurements to your situation. Pretty easy to grasp from his video on how to build it
Thanks for the Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great one of a kind product for building better sheds and woodworking minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cooworker finally got excellent results with it.
I've been looking to build a ramp to get my portable generator in and out of my basement, and this might be my reference! What kind of wood did you use/would you recommend? (I live in New England, so it would need to endure the winter snow)
Thanks for watching! I live in Canada and have harsh winters as well. I built my ramp from pressure treated lumber. It is standing up very well since I made this video.
Great video. Using your design, I trimmed the top of my shed's double doors with an archway. My only complaint is that you didn't do a video series about building the shed. :-)
What were the dimensions for your ramp? I just got a shed and need to do the same thing here. Your illustration is by far the easiest I have seen on YT.
What size is your initial piece of lumber....2X10 p.t., 2X12 p.t.? And how could I make your ramp stronger ...to support more weight like a car....floor jousts cut to match ramp???
Thx for the video. Very helpful. I’m kind of surprised at some of the derogatory comments about your video. Proves my point that dogs surpass humans! I’m going to use your method and top with shingle for non slip. Thx again for being so helpful.
Seems strange putting pressure treated boards right on dirt. I built my shed on concrete pads and I’d probably do the same for the ramp. Maybe a deep gravel bed at the very least.
Measure the height and then determine how far away from the shed you want the ramp to start. The further away from the shed it starts the less steep the ramp will be, but will also require material proportional to that distance. So, if you know you need 1' of rise over a distance of say, 6'....just lay it out that way on the board you're using for you supports. From the left edge, measure up 12" and mark it. Then on the bottom edge, measure 72" and mark it. Then draw a line with a straight edge (or snap a chalk line) between the two marks.
Lovely Video clip! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (google it)? It is a smashing one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend Sam got great success with it.
Ramp looks nice but it seemed more like a power tool commercial than a helpful guide. Anyone who can build one of these, knowing what kind of wood to use, how to get the correct distance, key things to avoid and look out for, doesn't need this video.
Did you add concrete blocks under the 4 main supports that I didn't see? If not, then isn't all the weight supported on the first deck board? Thanks for the video
I don't understand the question. Seems like all the deckboards would bear the same amount of weight if they are off the ground, resting on the same four supports, whether they are an inch off the ground or a foot off the ground. Even the bottom deckboard is resting on the supports. Remember he cut the points off the supports.
Show her your analytics! You've got over 425,000 views on your channel!! I bet you have an upward trend on your stats. Show her your rank on socialblade -dot- com (don't want yt to flag my comment as spam so I'm not putting in a direct link.) You're still small, but I think your numbers are going up, and so is your quality. (I'm in a dry spell myself right now so I'm also trying to encourage myself with these words. :-)
Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) my channel hit a dry spell right now. At the beginning of summer I was gaining about 10 new subs a day and now I am at maybe 2 a day. I use social blade for my analytics. Its a neat website. Kind of hoping that once fall and winter hit people will be trapped inside and have no choice but to watch my channel. I am amazed by your channel. You will be at 20,000 subs before you know it. I remember watching your channel when you were only at 4000 subs. Trade you channels lol
Great for someone that knows what they’re doing, I agree with the other comment not much information on how, what angle, pitch? Something in that direction! It’s a how to video correct don’t get me wrong I appreciate your work and talent but for a person that has no experience it’s a bit hard to follow.
Nice looking ramp, but for someone who has never done anything like that, and has no idea what kind of angle to cut for the slope or how to measure the angles, it was not at all helpful. I was hoping for a "Ramp Building for Dummies!"
Deck boards should have at least 1/8" space between each one for expansion. Just like any other deck. Also grain direction should all be the same. Nice build though.
How to build a ramp! Explains nothing... Edited "shed" to "ramp." Had shed on my mind. Still doesn't change the point though. I'll also add that the video would be great if you just explained what you're doing.
Hey Wes,
Great job, I used the same ramp for my shed. I did something a little different, I had shingles left over and put them over the wood. Makes a great non slip surface…
I (Nana) just completed this project with my 14 year old granddaughter. Just have to level and mount to the shed. Job done.
How many hours you done?
My partner and I just finished a ramp following your video. Super simple and easy to follow. Thanks!
Great job young man. I wuz wunderin how i can build my ramp. Your way is much quicker and easy. Thank you. 🇺🇸
Great video easy to follow, only thing missing was the dimensions and cuts of the wood.
Stacey, I went with the size of my shed and door. I used 2, 2X8 cut in and angle for the ramps, and 8, 2X6X10 for the flooring. My door length was 10 feet wide. All worked great. Hope this helps.
Thank you very much for sharing. This help me save $300. Dollars. God blessed your family. 😁👍
used this tonight to build a ramp. thanks!
Gorgeous shed!
How do you figure out the right slope angle?? Thats what im having issues with. Never been good at math.
Awesome 🥰

They sure make things look simple on here

Really like how it attaches to the bearer, great job man
Robin Lewis thanks! I drove my fourwheeler up and down it many times already. Its holding up so far

Step one: buy $2000 Dewalt saw and holder (jaja). Step two: build ramp. Great video. Thanks for posting.
What size? a 2x8 or 2x10....how did you figure the height of the board to attach the ramp.
Outstanding video. I have a new shed needing a ramp. My doors need to be trimmed to attach to ramp. I need help trimming the doors, please help.

Nice ramp. Easy, too.

I hear you. I really wish I made a video on building it. There will be a shed video coming in the future. My new property needs a new shed
What were the dimensions for your ramp? I just got a shed and need to do the same thing here. Your illustration is by far the easiest I have seen on YT.
Exactly! Super easy. I’m thinking of using composite boards to match my deck. Definately gonna use your plans.
What size materials did you use?
Cool thanks for a great build

Great job! How much should a ramp like this cost to be built?
Great Video!! 👌
To the Point from start to finish w/out all that 🐂💩 Intro that other video's start off with... 👍
What size wood did you first cut for the ramp 1/10?
Nice ramp
how did you determine the angle?
Measure the height and then determine how far away from the shed you want the ramp to start. The further away from the shed it starts the less steep the ramp will be, but will also require material proportional to that distance. Nice! Much easier than try to wheel things up steps.
Jim Dockrell no kidding!
Won’t last not level to ground? Left side big Gap
I’m trying to understand how it attached to the boards you drilled into the shed at the end.
Ramp looks nice but it seemed more like a power tool commercial than a helpful guide. Anyone who can build one of these, knowing what kind of wood to use, how to get the correct distance, key things to avoid and look out for, doesn't need this video.
The video was very helpful to me. Depends on who is the audience. Only thing left for me to do is pick up some shingles so it will have some traction.
how did you figure out your angles?
its probably preference right, how high you want to walk up and the shorter the ramp the steeper the angle
How did you figure the dimensions on the stringers?!!!
What size were the first boards u cut to 4 foot?
Did you add concrete blocks under the 4 main supports that I didn't see? If not, then isn't all the weight supported on the first deck board? Thanks for the video
Really wanted to see if anybody else had this exact same question.
I don't understand the question. Seems like all the deckboards would bear the same amount of weight if they are off the ground, resting on the same four supports, whether they are an inch off the ground or a foot off the ground. Even the bottom deckboard is resting on the supports. Remember he cut the points off the supports.
i like your safety glasses
Did you round the edges using a router or did they come rounded? Thanks.
Decking boards come with rounded edges.
@1:39 ... yeah, my wife doesn't want to be on camera either. :-) Good looking ramp, Wes, and pretty easy to build
Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) haha yeah. My wife thinks my youtube hobby is silly lol

There is always someone else to watch, Wes... I watch the growth of Matt Cremona and Dustin Penner and Peter Brown and envy them. :-)
Can you list out your materials? Thx!
1.wood
2. Screws
The guy who did my garage made the apron toooooo steep. Just wondering how can i build something like these to kinda level it a bit. 😅
How much height in feet the ramp was from ground

Nice looking ramp, but for someone who has never done anything like that, and has no idea what kind of angle to cut for the slope or how to measure the angles, it was not at all helpful. I was hoping for a "Ramp Building for Dummies!"
There wasn't a need to measure an angle for the slope, he used the level as a guide to the opposite corner. Line up, make line and cut. Board was 4'
At the very end of the video it looks like you added a board under the ramp. Am I seeing things? Nice easy ramp, great job and thanks for sharing!
I added a board to level it. I have since then removed the board and levelled it with some dirt.
Building the same ramp only beefier. Need to run a zero turn mower in and out of the shed.
I'm thinking about doing the same thing did you ever end up building that beefier app I need mine to support the weight of a car
Beefier ramp
@@onthewaynolimits8493 Yes. So far it is working great. Added metal cleat strips for traction.
Wheres the plans at?
Well that explains it
You should've built a shed around the ramp.
Frank chervoni 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like that, yeah
👌🏿
Nice shed and nice ramp. If i know how to built then i would not watch your video. Didnt really learn much from you
Deck boards should have at least 1/8" space between each one for expansion. Just like any other deck. Also grain direction should all be the same.
Nice build though.
Deck boards shrink... why would you want large gaps over time?
@@waynesteed They expand when wet
You didn't explain a damn thing.
Perfect no talking! Lol
What's to explain? Seems obvious to me, and I'm not even remotely a DIYer.
Very Nice but useless. How am I supposed to use this video to help me
For ramp shed.s
That helped...no.
You didn’t help with any actual information.
How to build a ramp! Explains nothing...
Edited "shed" to "ramp." Had shed on my mind. Still doesn't change the point though.
I'll also add that the video would be great if you just explained what you're doing.
This videos is about building a ramp…. Not a shed
I hate videos like no information on how to build it just a bunch of high speed video editing and music
Not much information
thumbs down because the music.
Not very informative might as well made a cartoon
