PLOT: Some time after the Mousekewitz's have settled in America, they find that they are still having problems with the threat of cats. That makes them eager to try another home out in the west, where they are promised that mice and cats live in peace. Unfortunately, the one making this claim is an oily con artist named Cat R. Waul who is intent on his own sinister plan.

Saw it in theaters at nine years old twice and dug it! One of my favorite sequels
One thing that always fascinated me as a child was how did they got to the top of that stone butte or the abandoned mine when the track is no longer traversable. I did love the little signs of past exploration added in like the canteen and the way the lanterns swung back and forth due to the echo.
This is a weird movie - a weird, beautifully animated movie with absolutely gorgeous background paintings
this was the absolute funniest thing I'd ever seen when I was a little kid. I must have worn out this section of the VHS tape just rewatching "I hurt myself" over and over 🤣
My sister and I are in our fourties and we still say this to each other and try and pop one eye out 😂 my niece looks so confused

This was truly a great movie, the only down side was that this sequel to An American Tail was not made by legendary Don Bluth.
It has enough of the first movie's DNA in it, I think, with Steven Spielberg remaining as producer, and James Horner once again doing the musical score.

I like the Don Bluth Charm more, honestly the characters look a little off in this movie but the shadows and overall movement is good too lol. Not too much of a fan with the colour choices tho but the backgrounds feel grand
Don bluth is an overrated director! I only liked his secret of nimh, land before time, titan ae and Anastasia

Not all of his movies are perfect but I still think there's a charm to his work that is unmatched. Did ya'll know he was gonna work on a pac-man project in the early 2000s at one point? 💀 it's weird but cool

I'm more of a fan of this than the first as it's less depressing and has better pacing, action galore, a better villain who actually has charisma, and i'm an action guy just like how i think Rescuers Down Under is better than the first

Animated movies are not like what they once were, the effort, the details and the passion just aren't there anymore in modern animated movies, really sad.

Not even sadistic because I used to and still do watch "Ren and Stimpy." And an old NickToons/NickTeens Cartoon about twins. One boy and one girl and they are like Wednesday and Pugsley but more of a sibling bond then what we see. And the entire cartoon is about them terrorizing their town.
Also "Invader Zim."!!!
The first American Tail movie was pretty depressing though. Same with The Land Before Time and All Dogs Go to Heaven.

I like The Land Before Time as well since I was toddler and younger ages in 2000s era after I was born on September 23rd, 1997.

@@nyhuus85 very awesome. There totally needs to be a time when humans really need to make a "True" animated movies that touched the soul and heart of the viewers of all ages. Somebody hand-drawn and computer animation, it's not just the movies, TV shows as well for all ages on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, and the Walt Disney company needs to take there place in the circle of animations shows and movies for everyone.
@@iandanielcassidy8126 i agree i love thise old hand drawed movies there is just something over it that makes it just freaking awsome, like the old asterix and obelix and the land befor times but just the first 1, my little sister is born in 1994 and she had ALL the land befor times, and then they startet to sing and so on, nooo dont mess it up also the drawings of the figures was chanced, it hadnt that kinda roughtness as the first 1 had. But many of those cartoon series there is today its freaking ugly and every thing well atleast 80% is somekind of good and bad super heros, and uuuhhhhh watch out there is some bad dude having a cigarets, or on some disney movies there is a warning on seriously come on, you cant compare what was made for 10-20-30-40-50 years ago and now, dont change the originals but well just sad to se how things are going
