- In this classic interview from 2004, the world's most admired woman, shares her wisdom and discusses her meeting with Presidents Bush and Clinton, as well as her hit show on Broadway.
Theater Talk is a series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993 and is co-hosted by Michael Riedel (Broadway columnist for the New York Post) and series producer Susan Haskins.
The program is one of the few independent productions on PBS and now airs weekly on Thirteen/WNET in New York and WGBH in Boston. Now, CUNY TV offers New York City viewers additional opportunities to catch each week's show. (Of course, Theater Talk is no stranger to CUNY TV, since the show is taped here each week before its first airing on Thirteen/WNET.)
The series is produced by Theater Talk Productions, a not-for-profit corporation and is funded by contributions from private foundations and individuals, as well as The New York State Council on the Arts.

She can volley any question thrown at her, especially from these two constipated interviewers. She never breaks character. Amazingly sharp mind.
Dame Edna is very entertaining and makes me laugh.
Dame Edna simply can not be bested! Now that she has retired, I am grateful that we have a wealth of videos of her storied career.
She has new show on bbc well was supposed too but covid cancled it
Dame Edna as always, tells it as it is with complete honest and polite truth, veiled in comedy!
They don't make broads like Dame Edna anymore!!! So shy , private and humble
This is everything. Absolutely a top favorite of Dame Ednas interviews! Possibly the best. The reality bit was so much fun.
It reminds of Dustin Hoffman in "TOOTSIE" they look very much alike.
"In Australia, vulgarity is considered possibly the nicest thing you can possibly have."
Fantastic!
Dame Edna 😂you truly was the biggest diamond in the crown 😂 RIP dear Barry 😂 you are sadly missed 😂 in my opinion you were definitely a dame 🎉
What a cosmic comic!!!
U can really notice the deepening of dame ednas voice over the years!!!
I prefer her deeper voice it is more natural
Absolutely. The older she gets, the deeper her voice becomes.
I was wondering who is her hairdresser and her outfit really fits her well , a dignified woman. in fact much better than a real woman
I don't think 'Michael' got the brief. What an absolute eejut. Well done Susan for playing along.
I call it tough love.
true, but they arent interviewing a real person, they are interviewing a character, which means they themselves have to go off everything Barry has established for Dame Edna as if it were fact. Neither of them are actors, so it can be difficult to act as if this is any truth to what this fictional person is saying,
What were they thinking? don't even try it with Dame Edna!
Brilliant interview????? Edna was brilliant, the interview was terrible, they no questions and pretended to know anything about comedy..... dito!
She's kinda like a clean Joan Rivers to me
Joan Rivers told her to come to the states to make her career and she followed the advice.
@martiniisgood i recently noticed that too, kinda scary
Effie Trinket?!
Dame Edna´s gynecologist is Dr.Schadenfreude. Madeleine Allbright , haha!
Mr Reidel is perfectly ghastly.
I suppose he's better on paper.
i suspect the theatre might be fake
These two interviewers are a joke....right?
Their constant giggling is too distracting.
Nee
When the interviewers think they are funnier than the interview... that is Jewish humor.
Oy Vey!!!
Americans could never grasp wit, Dame Edna is very subtle against PC.
MrStoneycool69 She was on BROADWAY in NYC you idiot. Stop generalizing.
Susan Haskins is terrible... her teeth! and she can help it... that dental work is terrible ... love Dame Edna
You forgot her awful hairdos.
americans got plenty of wit and humor.
