This was actually a collaboration between me and 8 Japanese creators: iu0018, にゃおん(nyaon), のっぺらぼう(nopperabou), warabi, テルル(teruru), *TEA*, みぃよくん(miiyo-kun), and γυτσ. (ダマスターズ is the team name.) This level was made to be the final level Geek played on stream before her streaming retirement at the end of 2023. Thanks for playing!

You know a troll level is gonna be good when DGR hits CP2 and there's still half an hour left in the video.
This troll level is a masterpiece. Honestly dont know how people have discovered to do a lot of these things like the level changing, warping, and the sheer creativity to kill you 10 different ways within a 5 block radius
Anyone who wants to explain how the changing level works? I mean I technically did it with checkpoints and on off switches, but how do you make it change after pressing start over?
Changes after restart usually trigger in specific ways (often knowledge checkpoints), requiring both positioning & action detectors (so it can't be found by accident). After the action, in a specific position, in this one (duck next to the pipe), the Switch state changed, altering how the level works.
Others achieve changes, with entity limit shenanigans & exploiting frames Red Coins count towards that limit (probably also going on in this level). Don't have certain coins, a few things can't load; do have the coin/s, new stuff loads, & trigger changes. Have different coins, other stuff loads, or loads in an altered sequence, & more new things happen.
Think of poor Chris, locked in the basement, having to cut all those times @Dgr failed to land on the block and go in the door

If you count the start over knowledge checkpoint, there are 6 checkpoints in the level.
That lvl legit felt like it had 6 checkpoints good lord was that long, but so damn elaborate
Technically, it had 5, if we count the going back to the begginiig to start the *changes* , so it isn't that off that it felt like it had 6 XD
So, I just watched Shadekitty demonstrate for forty minutes that they live in Dave's head rent free.
It was worth it.
A two hour worshop about the golden ratio sounds like way more fun than, a six hour ride, while the other two guys talked about football.
This was one of the most fun troll levels to watch you play, I hope this level creator has more like this it would be brilliant to see you playing more levels like this one. It made me laugh so much.
Oh DGR has played quite a few of Shadekitty's troll levels, and levels made by the Japanese creators he collabbed with. I highly recommend looking them up!
Shadekitty is consistently putting out levels better than the last. He's getting up there with my faces Stevo, Wilfred, soup, and kingbling
He did great, but it also helped that he was collabbing with all the best Japanese troll makers. The Japanese in the title reads their group name, "The Masters".
This was an incredibly well-designed and brutal level, I hope you got a good bit of R&R afterwards.
Also impressed me how you remembered what to do considering the layers of complexity.
All in all, you know a level is a challenge when even easygoing DGR is glad it's over 😅

The true ending: Dave having finally completed the level after 42 hours of trying to play it and being driven insane checks into Shady Pines Retirement Home and spends the rest of his life making s'mores using a hotplate in his room.
But one day, the hotplate is replaced with a Nintendo Switch, with only Mario Maker 2. And the only level he can play....is another troll level by Shadekitty.

As a Lost advocate, that was the whole point of the flash forward parts. It was season after season of flashbacks, then they switched it up to make you think it was still in the past only to reveal it was the future and they had in fact made it off the island. Then the whole O6 season was all flashforwards trying to get them to go back. Great show 10/10!
Anyways that was a very impressive Troll level, so glad I got to watch it instead of playing haha
I would have figured that 10 hour level would have made him say "I'm done" before anything else. He was able to endure that, he'll endure everything 😂

I don't play Mario Maker but I do watch Dave suffer. Now I really want a level that makes you /think/ you're back at CP1 (like the next two rooms are identical) BUT you've actually made progress.

That flame cannon death had to be a very special kind of pain. No tricks, no trial and error, just an obvious danger in an obvious place that he was too frazzled to notice. If you really want to break a master's heart and soul, force him to make a mistake a novice could have avoided.

A lot of "discussion" about the Golden Ratio is actually kinda nonsense, a whole lot of vagueness and near hits that look close enough, combined with a tonne of mythology, and very little actual maths. The majority of folks who buy into the Golden Ratio theories are the same people who were convinced that the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012 (they didn't, by the way, that year marked the end of a calendar, just because it's a longer calendar than the one on your wall doesn't mean the world ends when it changes).

This is by far the hardest troll level I've seen, other than the one where you have to go through 4 sections 4 times, and the trolls are different every time

Nintendo needs to add a new difficulty option of "contains glitches" and leave these creative levels up. I get it, something like this ending up in an expert or super expert run sucks, so do something to isolate them from those runs, not from the entire playerbase.

But one day, Geek said unto them "Thou powers art impressive, but not impressive enough. Go, find me a Japanese Troll creator so that we may learn the ancient ways.". With the help of shadekitty, these three wiseguys set forth and discovered Yuto, who in turn introllduced us to his apprentices, iu0018, nyaon, nopperabou, warabi, teruru, TEA, and miiyo-kun. Golden Ratio is a spiral. So you have 1, 3 6 9 10 and Pi..
A dodecahedron would also combine a 3rd dimension of the aforementioned shapes.
The hexagonal structure is also "one of" the strongest shapes for design.
The reality however is the golden ratio fits any design shape and principal, so more than likely they were just messing with you.

@@remus_lupin Oh so it’s like really complicated glitchy stuff I see. The on off switch method seems not to complicated if you can figure out how to make specific action and position detectors, such as rotten mushrooms and jump detectors. But the other method, is probably really glitchy and complicated
Actually, Red Coin shenanigans usually aren't glitchy, & some aren't complicated. It's more of exploitation of limited computing resources. It just takes a lot of screen space & tons of certain kinds of objects, to manipulate item loading. And insane amounts of time to sequence things & build a level around. It is complicated, but only some relies on glitches. And why complicated troll levels look odd. Almost everything you see, & don't, are in the level for a purpose.
Different kinds of objects, including ground & enemies, have load in priorities. Those can be manipulated by using objects that either are always loaded (are or touching global ground) or only loaded when you're near it (must be on screen or within 4 blocks of the screen edges). If you fill screens you never see, with objects that load as you want, you can cause things not to load sometimes (coin is there), but differently, on a later visit (grabbed & saved coin). A lot of Switch changes are frequently hidden, with sound effects, too. Additionally, where Mario starts on the screen can affect how things load, as well, with careful setup. This is part of why you'll see checkpoints hit back- to-back. It's manipulation of what screen Mario starts on, after death.
Also, you can force things out of blocks, to accomplish the same thing, but that usually seems to need a glitch (like to simultaneously empty a thousand blocks, for example). With that much in memory (or spawn limited), other things can't load. That's how ? Blocks with nothing in it, sometimes, but what you need others, can be done. Too much loaded, so the power-up can't spawn.
Certain kinds of troll levels are insanely complex, off screen, whether they use glitches or not.
I was able to download this level on time before it likely gets removed, but I just hate how I can’t at least view the level. Like I am not going to reupload it okay? Just let me see it. I miss mario maker 1 for that.
