Does the certificate of compliance have an expiration date? Once a house has passed the lead test, does it ever have to be tested again? Tests seem expensive. Is there a chance someone will use lead paint again on that house? Unless we just need to keep the lead testers gainfully employed so the agencies ask for more tests?
The Detroit Certificate of compliance and the lead test are good for 3 years. The next lead test is $100 less. If you do two or maybe it’s three of those on time, you get 5 years before you need another city and lead test. Don’t quote me on the latter. I’d have to look it up again to be sure. But I do know we get 3 years for the first lead and city inspection. No one will use lead paint again on the house. Lead paint is used on bridges though. Don’t lick a bridge! lol
Somehow all of us over 60 folks survived and thrived surrounded by lead. I'm seeing more developmental delays the more they try and find scapegoats nowadays.
I can tell you how we all survived. We had nutritious diets. Our bodies handled it fine. It hurts the people today who are on the standard American diet that’s not real food. A lead inspector told me this. She wishes they’d just force vitamins instead of force lead paint tests.
