As bad as they say. Who tf said it was bad. It is a gangster genre/crime genre film. Even maybe better than those made in the west. It is about a criminal , monster, NOT ABOUT A SAVIOUR. Him being a saviour is just 1% of its story and it is relevant only in first part.

One of the best film , it's basically more of story and character building in chapter 1 (the promise that he made to his mom) like the origin and the chapter 2 is much more action packed and continuation of the part 1 which will answer your questions (the promie he made is keprt and fullfilled in chapter 2)♥♥
The roads got blocked for days when chapter 2 got released. It went housefull everyday. A lot of people came together, it brought people from every corner of India together. This movie is a pure emotion.

It's the best movie 🎦 🎥 mix of all things and gangster genre... Most audience is of Hindi launguage but you will get authentic FEEL of film in original launguage KANNADA.... It may take a roll on viealws but u get the actual vibe with kannada dub(kgf chapter 1 is bit too much past paced for subtitle readers and some fast paced visuals tooo.....in chapter 2 it's more subtle and even more good than chapter 1)

ayo, guns are not as readily available in India. Especially at that time we even barely equipped our army properly let alone civillians or gangsters being rich enough to afford it easily, they had use Desi Alternative called 'Katta' which is a domestic makeshift gun which could explode in your hand or simply not work at right time which beyond risky so hockey sticks, knuckles, clubs and sticks are better alternatives. Another thing to note that Gangsters in this are very goddamn rich to be able to afford guns like that, in KGF2 you'll see more of the gun thing and how much behind the current setup was because these people were very much more interested in lining their own pockets and bribing goverment than arming goons. KGF2 is where you notice a huge upliftment and very large scale of operation. Now to the main focus, Shetty is Don of Mumbai...other people are very very high up in chain, they are distributers, industrialists, politicians who handle the actual meaty business where all the power and money comes from, KGF is the main base of operations which was found and kept by Suryavardhan who kept it in tight iron fisted dominance and ran it through slavery after Suryavardhan, it was a matter of Choosing Garuda(son) or Adheera(brother) for which he chose Garuda the son because Adheera didn't understand or do any politics or sceheming...he was straight up cruel murderer. One thing leads to another and the two fight for dominance and Garuda wins and KGF is currently his. Other Dons after seeing a new ruler and dying state of the older ruler are trying to plot a takeover and for that Rocky is employed to murder Garuda so they can take over his business through using Virat who is Garuda's brother as proxy and later dispose off him too. Where does Rocky fit in and whats his angle in saving people? he made a promise to his mother to become exteremely powerful and rich man and of course for that he needs enormous wealth and power. He throught that money was in Mumbai/Bombay so he tried becoming the biggest guy in underworld there however after being offered Bombay like a lollipop, he understood who are the real powerful men and so to understand what exactly they are and where they come from he made plans to go into KGF to seize power from them. Rocky is not a hero, saint or liberater, he wants power and wealth and for that he needs people on his side. By killing the cruel guards infront of the enslaved people, he injected courage into people and make them his followers. They became his power! Using this power...you'll see what happens in KGF2

Kgf 2 was far better than the first. It was perfect(I don't care what someone says about editing in car chase scene). It had all the elements I wanted and I expected. It was character driven and him saving the people was just a 1% and irrelevant part of his full story. In part 2, he was not the saviour, he was the MONSTER. He accomplished his goal and end was emotional and perfect.

If you don't know them already I would highly recommend watching the KGF reaction by Badd Medicine. It's 4 American dudes who knew nothing about India, KGF was either their 1st or 2nd Indian movie, and they understood everything!
