  • This animated surgical technique video demonstrates the procedure for correcting hammertoe using the bioabsorbable Inion FreedomPin™.
    Procedure Steps:
00:07 Incision: Make an incision on the dorsal surface.
00:13 Skin Retraction: Retract the skin with skin hooks or a retractor.
00:20 Osteotomies: Perform osteotomies on both surfaces.
00:37 Drilling: Drill a hole in both phalanges using the Inion FreedomPin™ K-wire. Measure the depth.
00:58 Pin Preparation: Cut the bioabsorbable Inion FreedomPin™ to the desired length.
01:09 Pin Insertion: Introduce the Inion FreedomPin™ into the proximal phalanx first. Insert the distal end of the pin into the middle phalanx. Straighten the toe into the corrected position.
The bioabsorbable Inion FreedomPin™ fully resorbs within 2-4 years, providing a reliable and effective solution for hammertoe fixation.
Inion FreedomPin™ is a strong and versatile bioabsorbable pin for even more challenging orthopaedic fixations. With a unique manufacturing method and the hexagonal shaft shape design, the Inion FreedomPin™ offers many clear benefits over the traditional round-shaped pin implants. The Inion FreedomPin™ is available in four different diameters (1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.7 mm and 3.2 mm), which allows a wider range of applications. You can find out more about the pin on our website: www.inion.com/...
