  • Well, we made it back to the Arapeen Trail, two years after our first trip here. We met our good friends Mike and Tish with their Can Am Maverick Trail. We brought our MT and ATV along and had two days of exploring this amazing place. This is Part 1 (Day one), stay tuned for Part 2.

I love these types of videos on RUclips. I make a series of videos every year like yours but on the far east coast of Canada in the province of Newfoundland. I can appreciate the work that goes into them with voice overs, editing, music, and first getting the right shots to put in them. Watching videos like yours I get to see trails and views I would otherwise not be able to see. I also have a Can Am side by side and I used to have a Polaris Sportsman 850 SP before I bought my Commander. I wish I kept it and had both machines now.

My wife and I rode the Arapeen beginning July 16th. The first evening ride, we crossed the water crossing at 6:55 in your video. It was full of very deep water. I chose the ride side as you did. My wife told me to turn around, but I took the crossing anyway. She was NOT happy with me. The good news was, we got through it, and we actually saw a bear up close on the trail just beyond on trail 3. We really enjoyed our time on the Arapeen. Thanks for sharing.

Have you ridden any of the Moab trails? We are heading out there in a couple weeks.

A few. We use to go there with our ATVs. We've only taken the MT there once. It's pretty. The most "difficult" trail we did in the MT was probably Sevenmile Rim. Mostly easy, but a few challenging obstacles. Easy rides would be Cane Creek over to Hurrah Pass and out to Chicken Corners. Beautiful out there. Onion Creek is a must do and very easy, but it's a long trailer ride to get to it. We did Metal Masher on ATVs. I wouldn't take my MT on it.

@@MyATVlife thank you for the information. We will be riding on southern Colorado the week before that. Two totally different geographies. :)

What trail was that you rode up?

    • @MyATVlife
      @MyATVlife  2 года назад

Mostly the 3 and the 31. My Avenza app screwed up most of the day, but it was mostly those two I think.

@@MyATVlife I know I got rid of Avenza after the update, I lost my maps I had saved so had to start over
but with a different map app. My wife and I love the Arapeen we usually go twice a year.

Thank you for taking the time to make your videos. Great videos and narration. Love that you show different views, overlooks and the drone footage. I was out to Utah last year for the first time and started planning for this year’s trip already on the way back home.
    Take care safe travels

Trails for days! The Arapeen system is an absolute gem!

The sole benefit to the wind is that it'll push the dust away from the lead vehicles. Sometimes.
We just returned from a one day 55 mile trip in the Arapeen. Up Ephraim canyon.
Last weekend we had a one dayer in the Paiute.
    Only live 2 - 2.5 hours away. I'm lucky.

Manti is about 250 (ish) mikes from me, Marysvale is about 300 from me. I feel very lucky too to have these amazing places close to home.

Before you got to that first lake you passed a trail to the right going up the hill. Not sure the number we call it the Sheep trail. It's a must do scenic trail down there

I have tried Avenza maps and was not that impressed. Have you tried OnX maps? There is a small subscription. These maps are fantastic and can be configured to work when you are offline. Make sure you get the "off-road" map.
Next time you are in the Manti area, make your way over to 6-mile canyon and run the 50-inch trails off the main canyon road. Trail #36 (Harmon ATV Trail) is really fun. Another favorite is called "north fork six mile." not sure of the number. That will take you up to Skyline. A little rocky at the top. Also, assuming you know about the 50-inch trail that leaves the far side of the damn on Duck Creek that runs around and up to Skyline. That area is impressive.
Hoping my 2022 MT 1000 shows up soon. Dealer promises the end of August. I'm hoping to add many of the accessories you did. Thanks for taking the time to walk through the +/- of the various add-ons.

Thanks for the Arapeen tips 👍
This was only our second time going, much more to see. One day we'll take an extended stay on the Arapeen to discover more of the area.
