This is reassuring to see someone has had the opporation and recovered successfully. I am having my Talus bone replaced on 22nd November and I am very nervous because I know if it fails the chances are I will lose my foot!

Any news on it ? I’m on the road of the recovery for my both talus and doctor said at at risk to avascular necrosis and I’m very terrified to lose my feet at age of 26

@@MrMalucas hey 👋🏻, I’ve just had my 6 week check up and x-ray. They are happy with the alignment and my body hasn’t rejected the new part so that’s good news. However, I still have to have my foot in a boot for another 6 weeks so it will be a while before I know if it has worked. Although earlier days I am still having the same pains as I did before so I’m not very optimistic although I am trying to be!

How are you doing on your recovery journey? Facing replacement myself and would love to hear that you're healing well.

Lost my talus almost 20 years ago and doctor’s that I’ve seen so far are skeptical of replacing it

How long after breaking you discovered the necrosis ? I’m 9 weeks on the road of recovery and doctor said I’m at risk for it. I’m very scared to lose my feet at only 26 years of age 😢

My 9 year old son has AVN of talus after a break 3 years. Desperately trying to find a specialist to in this injury. His doctor who treated him played it down to me. Said it was just healing and will take up to 3 years. She did try a decompression surgery but since that surgery the bone is fragmenting and collapsing. Moved countries and saw a new doctor and he just said nothing can be done, it has already collapsed and sent me away
