This BF hanging thunder is actually a reference to a common misconception that when thunder strikes in Luigi’s Mansion, it looks like a silhouette of Luigi hanging himself.
Yes! This happens specifically when you're using a phone in the telephone room after the blackout. Everyone went haywire thinking it was intentional, which would have been incredibly dark.
I could see this glitch being just one of the mansion's attempts to scare Luigi

Can't believe RedTv53 resurrected Alone and killed V1&V2 at the same time.
Red somehow makes anything about Luigi being depressed an absolute banger, and I don’t know how he does it.
Man! What an upgrade! This song used to be C-Tier on my list and somehow has gotten itself an S-Tier! Damn! The beginning is all chill. Luigi is all like “I'm sorry, Mario. It's all my fault.” Then the track gets more flared up when Boyfriend and Girlfriend is all like “Damn, you fucking suck!” Then they sing about how Luigi is a coward, but also, in a very hostile manner, singing about how Luigi could still possibly stand and save his brother. Mario then comes and if you listen closely, you can hear actual lyrics. From what I can hear, Mario is saying “Luigi, where did you go? Luigi, lost and alone.” Then, the track comes to a stop. Luigi goes back to mourning over his dead brother. He also realizes that Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Mario, the ones insulting him while also cheering him on were all in his head. He thought they were real for a second, turns out, it was just him playing with his own emotions. I got all of this information from hearing “OOOAOOEO” You know a Friday Night Funkin’ Track is good when you hear actual words from “OOEAOO!” I didn't really mean to turn this into some sort of fan-fic, but that’s just how much emotion this track has. Like damn. I'm not tryna sound like a 14-year-old from the “I'm 14 and this is deep” Reddit, but this track is very good!

Man, as good as this song is, I can honestly feel the lost and hopelessness radiating from it. Luigi wasn't able to save his brother on time and all he can do is sit outside of the mansion in the rain and grieve. It really doesn't help that BF and GF's ghosts are also mocking his failure and we get a gist of Mario's trapped spirit calling out for his brother's help.
It makes me kind of glad that the beta Luigi's Mansion game over was scrapped because not only would it may come off as scary to some people, it would also come off as depressing. ;_;

I'm certain that Mario sings actual lyrics instead of using chromatics, I remember an anon on /funkg/ fully transcribing them. And I also kind of hear them. The whole idea of “Alone” and the Luigis Mansion Beta ending, in context of the mod is the OPPOSITE of “I Hate You”.
In IHY the brothers hate eachother and cannot stand together, and are miserable. Here, one is gone forever, and the other is lonely and miserable

Is a reference to a visual glitch in the original Luigi's Mansion, where at some point late game in the attic a thunder strikes outside lighting the room. In a part at the wall Luigi's shadow was placed in more above the wall rather in the ground which led to theories that Luigi committed 'rope' and Luigi was actually dead in the mansion
Of course in the 3DS remake that one detail was fixed but still causing plenty of wild theories back then
