This is a little ridiculously long, I know, but I wanted to try to fit in as much as I could! This Decades in Film edit was also incredibly fun to make. Let me know what you think! Watch in 1080p if you can!

You told the 'Hero's Journey' formula with films other people have made. Not bad.... 👏🏻
impressive catch !!
You really have the time and the knowledge.
This was the most beautiful video I've ever seen
Steezy Kane thank you so much! Just checked out your page as well, love your stuff man!
that is sad :)) ruclips.net/video/Wz-ELUw6xtY/видео.html
Just when you think “oh it doesn’t have this movie” that movie shows up.
Except Into the spider verse :(
@@mauriciodh6995 Into the spider verse is in dude
Mauricio dh more than once
I was looking for Blade Runner 2049 and was relieved when I saw it
Was thinking maybe Roma might show up, but it didn’t
This only made me realize how many movies I missed
Can we appreciate the amount of space this video took to be made
cloud atlas had the rawest goddamn lines i'm crying
was such a good trailer, such a bad put together movie :(. I had such high hopes for it.
@@kevinlopera The book is so good.
@@lwgoinghome thanks, I'll look into it
I hope it goes viral, is a masterpiece that really deserves some love
That scene in the impossible where the brothers reunite still makes me shed a tear
OMG i cannot agree more, it just reminded me how amazingly emotional and epic that movie is
You don't release how long decade feels until you watch this
Dang.. if this doesn't make you love movies...
Great montage. Nice touch w/ the Radiohead music.
Hire this guy to do RUclips rewind of the decade
Should've been an hour long. Loved every second of it.
This is my favourite video on the internet. Thank you. As a young filmmaker's we will push for this kind of greatness.
If there's an Oscar for (Tributes & Rewinds) videos ...
This one should be nominated and Heeeeeell WIN.
There's so much love put into this video. I am incredibly proud to see the final version.
To the individual who created this video, THANK YOU. This was phenomenal 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Jorge Valencia hah, thank ~you~ for taking the time to watch a 13 minute tribute. I appreciate it!
One thing I love in edits is a sense of occasion, and that ending did it. Great job
If this video would not exist, I would not too. Thank you so much for compilation! Brilliant, emotional, heart touching.!
you have no idea how badly I was waiting for moonlight to appear here and when I heard "you ain't gotta love me" i broke down
light one of my favorite movies ever!
@@CallMeSewer same! so good. btw this whole video is amazing you did such a great job, I subscribed haha
Glad you showed Crimes of Grindelwald and Fantastic Beasts and where to find them some love
Man, you've done an amazing job. Thank you!
This video should have millions of views
Missed opportunity to use Hans Zimmer’s “Time” while celebrating this decade’s films.
Sean Place that song alone will put half those movies to shame
hans zimmer's decade
That would've been cliché
You just got a well deserved sub holy crap
Only 70k views? Shit man this needs more
I feel like 2010s TV deserves the same treatment. So many great TV shows in the 2010s.
This is brilliant. Well done to whoever made this
A master of playing with emotion, great work!
Cickson thank you!
oh well now i'm crying
Movie buffs unite!
Absolutely amazing edit, thank you for this.
if u teared like this
My friend... I don't know what to say expect it looks like you have got some good editor skills.
Keep going
Mario Lanzersto thank you! And of course, will do!
I kind of feel old now
I feel inspired and I don't even know why! Great job!
This is exactly what I needed and wanted!!
Okay after the 5th Bane quote I think we all know which your favorite movie of the decade was LMAO
The Kareful Koala haha! I love that movie, and although it’s not in my top 10 I think bane has some great lines. Might have been a bit overkill though lol
Great use of music. Your editing is top notch. This is such beautiful work. Please tell me you work in the movie business. Bless our screens with your talent
If you like this kind of mash-up and/or discover this for the first time check : Gen Ip / Sleepy Skunk / Pteryx videos / BehindTheEpic / JoBlo movie / Nikita Malko / Daneimp (he did 2 only on battles movies) / Andrew Rivard. They all deserve much more views !
How long did this take?? This is incredible!
It took about a week from the time I started collecting clips, etc. but I also work and study full time, so it was interrupted a lot. Once I got down to editing it went by pretty quickly over a weekend (making a first version and sending it to my brother, then changing stuff from there). I’m glad you liked it!
wow, just wow
get this on trending!
This was very well done. I am both amazed and a bit intimidated. My montage is not gonna be this good.
You have inspired me to edit, thank you so much for that
just seeing this comment, this means so much to me, thank you! and good luck on your editing journey
Thank you!
I cannot believe Hereditary isn't there
This is suuuuuper goood :)
Now do TV series of the decade
Hope that i can live to see A Century in Film made by a 103 y-o man for boys born in the last year of 20th Century in the very last moment of 21th Century
which of these ones are actual must-sees?
Compared to the Dark Knight, DKR isn’t better, but it still is an excellent movie
Can someone please do this for video games, that would be amazing
I literally never wanted this to end
Are you talking about the video or about the decade? Maybe both
Husa01 100% both
I literally never wanted anything to end! Like omg! I’m actually crying right now. This is actually the end of my childhood! This video... it’s got me in my feels
I did. The 10s suck.
the 2010s have produced some INCREDIBLE films.... wow
anouk ivory films Yes, I always get annoyed reading RUclips comments on old films from past decades that don’t offer insight by saying “they don’t make good movies like this anymore.” Far from the truth actually.
I disagree. I think it's the worst time in movie making history. I've only really liked 3-4 movies this decade. I'd say "The Great Gatsby" is the last one, and that was all they way in 2013. "The Green Book" is a fun little movie, but let's be real...if not for the political correctness it would be an 8/10. Same for "The Favourite"- a fun little movie. But nothing more than theater on a cinema stage (it has like 6 characters).
Avengers, really? Star Wars? Wakanda? "Interstellar", yes, was good, but lose the "love" part if you want a 9/10. 10/10 is impossible when there was "Contact" 20 years ago with such similar scenes that it stole (think the one in the wormhole with the hand touch of the person outside). Superhero movies shouldn't even count. Yes, the Nolan Batmans were great (though the chase scene in TDK is unwatchable because of the stupidity of some characters), yet no superhero films surpass Zack Snyder's "Watchmen" (not the dumb tv series).
"The Revenant" was greatly receive and I liked it, but then I found out that it's copy-paste from a Russian movie: ruclips.net/video/cpcdhNq_VPM/видео.html
Some people I see mentioning "One Upon a TIme in Hollywood", but I stopped watching any Tarantino flicks after he proved a very deranged individual who must have his black characters either humiliate white boys by giving them forced blowjobs (Hateful Eight) or shooting them in the private parts (Jaime Foxx and Walter Goggins in Django and Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction).
So, that leaves just "The Great Gatsby", "Cloud Atlas", "Manchester by the Sea", "Arrival" and I also liked movies such as "Prometheus", "Dark Shadows", "Immortals", "Ender's Game", "Gods of Egypt", "Pan"- Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard singing "Smells like teen spirit" was the best scene and it topped the "Show Must Go On" in Moulin Rouge. I even liked "Warcraft". While they are far from perfect, it just bugged me that these movies were all panned by critics. People just can't do art anymore, it's not allowed. Whether it was because not enough egyptians were used in Gods of Egypt or because the Tiger Lily actress was Rooney Mara, somehow these movies were not politically correct enough.
I don't watch horror as I consider it "fear porn", so I don't know anything about movies in that genre.
From animated movies, I'd say "Inside Out" is deep and the "Lava" soundtrack is amazing.
Outside of Hollywood, I was impressed by the Australian "Wyrmwood" (kind of horror but not really), the Italian "La Grande Belezza"- a view into the art and decadence of Rome, the Italian "They call me Jeeg Robot", the Hungarian "Kut" and even the British comedy "Double Date".
Oh yeah, "The Wold of Wall Street" is from a director I really appreciate, but I just don't like salesmen. They annoy me and I really hated the main character.
That's it for me. Very little from the 2010s. I used to see many more good movies in the 2000s and the 1990s and 1980s. If you want, I can elaborate with examples.
@@mattteomatei3610 I think the problem isn't that they're bad, it's just that the genre is so drastically different from back then. You probably just happen to enjoy the old classic style of films. Also the market is so saturated with films that there are more bad films than good films and thus, giving the impression that there are no good movies.
@@mattteomatei3610 Also the problem is that you are only looking at films based on their story. Sometimes, a film can still be amazing by their visuals, sound design, horror aspect, character interaction, and by social impact.
@@christianlee5666 Yeah, but you can't consider one movie "great" just because it has " visuals, sound design, social impact." I mean Guardians of the Galaxy is a pop-corn flick, not even really good. It'can't be considered a good movie. Or Transformers. Not even Harry Potter, though that movie's artistic value and its actors (a myriad of English talent) is much better than in many movies which are considered in the video above just because of visuals or social impact.
I mean...I've said my peace in the above message. Can you tell me what else would you add to "great" movies?
It's like an Oscars presentation. It also deserves an Oscar.
Percival Flores thank you!
No joke, they should play this at the Oscars this year!
I can't articulate how grateful I am to the person who created this. I am incredibly emotional and have such a huge sense of finality right now. I understand this was the GOAL of the video, but the way you captured the decades ESSENCE in film, the way you summed up cinema across all genres so perfectly is nothing short of a miracle. You, whoever you are, have a gigantic amount of talent. Just, just a genuine THANKYOU for being responsible for the creation of this absolute masterpiece.
Tilly Kate thank you so much for these kind words! I seriously appreciate the love and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I reccomend you to watch those of Gen Ip. She is been of the first to do this kind of amazing mash-up, back in 2010 !
It’s epic
Imagine seeing this in like 2009, my head would explode. Just imagine you could see a video like this as a trailer for the 2020s. I'd be so hyped, I think I couldn't wait for the decade to start....
Yeah, that would be cool, if It were not for the spoilers
That's an amazing way to think about this.
Seeing cap lift Mjolnir would be a massive upset tho
here we are in 2020, world dying lmao, who would've thought
This looks like a trailer of human imagination
Underated comment of the century
Absolutely amazing! Now a challenge: name every movie in this compilation
haha, that might be a little tough
a list would be cool tho so i can look if theres something i havent watched already
@@phrog7193 yeah that would be super helpful lol
Adam Madsen someone did that
Someone in the comment section is listing all the movies used ☺
*A masterpiece made out of masterpieces.*
Eastwood Music thank you, and I agree - a lot of these movies are masterpieces!
Except for suicide squad
Power Rangers was in this
Except....what are the masterpieces?
Eastwood Music Star Wars rn is not a masterpiece
this just came up on my recommended and goddamn that was insane man I’m so glad I clicked
Hidden Obscurial thank you for watching! I seriously appreciate it
There go my teen years, here’s to my 20’s. See you in 10 years
Same... time flies by fast
Same. But we were there when it happened, we remember how it made us feel, and we'll keep them in our minds as we grow. Let's raise a cup to the 2010s.
I'm not the only one! This video gave me crazy nostalgia, but also freaked me out a bit at the fact its ALREADY been nearly a decade since these movies came out. I'm about to turn 21 and it seems like just yesterday I was seeing these movies freshmen year of High School!
This was by far the best “A Decade in Film” edit I’ve seen. All the other ones I’ve seen just don’t quite nail having both good editing and the right films featured. Well done! 👏
Johnny Stob thank you! I appreciate the love, Im glad you liked it
CallMeSewer I really did! I thought it nailed almost every important movie from this decade
I need a list of those movies bc i missed a lot i notice right now.
Someones got itt up. Check out the top comments
Do you know where it is … I found it once but now I can’t find it?? I wanted to screenshot it?
This video is so underrated.
WAZZA BennyBooJ thank you!
ScreenJunkies one is better
@@RyanHall3295 IDK??? I like the screen junkies BUT whereas theirs felt like big movies edited together (still good) … This one felt more like a great piece of Art that you can stare at for days fr. Different angles and still be in Awe!!!
The channel “The Vintage Tribute” also did a great video edit on “100 Years Of Cinema” it’s 31 minutes long BUT so worth the time.. almost bring tears to your eyes can you can almost feel the words the actors are saying.. the pain & happiness in their words!!
cant find the right words but i think i go with simply: amazing
Laura thank you!!
Here before this goes viral
Vitaliy Mulyar Hes got less than 400 subs and 20k vievs so it’ll take a bit longer, but it will go viral for sure
Vitaliy Mulyar this will never go viral
Mad Max which is a damn shame, really
I hope it goes viral, is a masterpiece that really deserves some love
Same
This decade has had the best and worst movies ever created
The best movie ever dropped in the 70’s though.
No.
I prefer 90's and 2000's
Endgame and emoji lol

gatekeeping much?
How would it make me cry if I am what’s called a retro/vintage movie lover?
Kylle Poiencot I can see your point. I see that you have a certain preference of style and era of film, but if you love cinema as an art form, then it just doesn’t make sense that a “movie lover” wouldn’t love any movies that are amazing just because they didn’t come out in a certain era or had a certain style. That’s what I think.

2 minutes in and i'm already astonished by the editing, Great work. Actually this feels like the best video I've seen on RUclips in years, but then again i care deeply about film maybe that's why
Ali co thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the start
@@CallMeSewer oh no i enjoyed the whole video thank YOU, Keep on making gems like these
I dont even want to try say you missed a movie because im probably the one who missed it lol
I don't think I saw "Thunder Road" from 2018 in there anywhere. You should see it when you get the chance.
I don't want to fault the editor either. It's a great video nonetheless and hundreds and hundreds of movies come out each year
**Watches intro**
Ok this guy knows how to edit
The Star Wars music at the end made me cheer up so much
Marcel Kurz the music right before Star Wars was pretty okay if I do say so myself :p
This was so sick! Fantastic editing, especially the clips over "Everything I Got." The Joker laugh in time to the music just- This was amazing.
Ace thank you!
What a beautiful decade for film, too many in this video to list all of them.
Still a fantastic video 👏
Typhoon LMS thank you!
@@CallMeSewer no problem brother, thanks for the like, much appreciated :) Great job with the edits 👏
Sony Pictures Entertainment: “Allow me to introduce myself”
Denis Villeneuve is the best director of the decade in my opinion, almost all of his movies are from this decade and all of them are great.
Christopher Nolan ?
Indeed with u man.
@@mondantarigan5579 his rises sucks dude.
@@deewan2588 what do you mean ??
@@mondantarigan5579 meh
I mean, this is just a work of art
lokidokie thank you so much! I’m seriously glad you liked it
Your profile picture: "is it though?"
(it is, lol, that was a joke)
Kritiko lmao I get that a lot, I should probably change it. A lot of people think my comments are jokes 🗿
Wow what a ride...
Why does this only have 5k views!?!?!?
3min28, which movie is it (the one with the girl)? I can't remember ahah
You have no idea how much this video means to me. Gratings from Norway
absolutely INCREDIBLE films this decade i’m crying
Its crazy to think that all of these came out in the same decade
So just to let you know..
Out of all my years on RUclips and the internet in general-
I have... NEVER seen something so beautiful and well done!
I will never get tired of this vid, you should be very proud
Thank you so much!
If you see this may I hope your 2020s are Awesome
Well! What is it! And yours as well!
Adunbi Allen lmfao didn’t age well
@@CallMeSewer what is the name of the movie 3:48 where multiple people are holding guns to someone's head?
*_2010's ... you were good_*
*_Let's the future lead you to something more_*
EDIT: 2020, THIS ISN'T WHAT I MEANT!!
I agreed with you man 👍
The Star Wars music hit me hard and idk why
There are a lot of movies that should of been represented if even for a second but i thought the film selection matched with the music and the Tone switches were excellent good Job Bro
Holy shit, this is absolutely incredible!!
Some varying degrees of quality regarding the selection of the films and not enough cinema outside of the English language used...
But nice work.
I think they where trying to go for films that had the most impact overall and not the most acclaimed films
Me before watching this : there wasnt so much great movies in the last decade.
Me at 13:33 : i told ya last decade was fucking awesome.
“We are both more than one fight”- deleted scene creed 2
JE I still can’t believe they decided against including that scene in the theater release! One of my favorite scenes from the creed reboot
CallMeSewer yeah I watched the deleted scene right after watching the movie and I was in shock. That was a very important scene to include

Mads Christensen yea, it gets demonetized but it falls under fair use for transformative work!
@@CallMeSewer sucks its demonetized, you deserve the $$ for this. f*cking brilliantly edited video. cant imagine how long this took
This is a masterpiece, well done 10/10
Andrea Lanteri thanks, I appreciate it!
I feel like you just covered my whole life
Watching this at the end of the 2010s on my phone, just preparing for the inevitable nostalgia
(Hello 2030s people)
