Suzanne, you are still beautiful at your age!! I always loved you! All three of you should have been paid the same amount! No matter if you are male or female, you all make the show great!!
Ms. Sommers, I'm 78, and still camping and hiking, that's what keeps me young ! Yo, you go girl! When my mother was 82, she told me , I'm 82 physically, but, I'm 18 in my mind! Now, I'm living that way.
I think that it was all three of them that made the show special. She keeps saying that it was just her and John Ritter, but it wasn't. It was the combination of the three. Janet was also wonderful in her own way. That's just how I see it.
I watch all the re runs of Threes Company whenever they’re on. I could watch them over and over again. I never get tired of them. I watched them all in the 70s and 80s and they are still good. 💜❤️🥰😷
She wrote beautiful poetry, a couple of autobiographies, was a phenominal business woman, had a great marriage, her kids adored her. She had a great life!
Rip. Suzanne Summers. You were amazing. And brilliant, and sweet, and kind, and humble. I love her cancer in this interview. I love that she did not shy away from her sexuality. Of being a woman, when you’re in the mood, you’re in the mood, I can’t help but respect that. You know, they had a undeniable attraction for one another., And who could deny that, they had love, they blended their families together. They created a safe, Haven, for their families. To be happy, and you can tell that she was very much in love with her husband, as her husband was in love with her. And goddamn, she looks so good to be the age that she Was when doing this interview. Man I can only hope and wish I still look that way when I get in my 70s. I think my favorite episode. With Krissy, Snow. Was the episode when she ate that chocolate pie, that was the pie, that Jack was supposed to present in the bake off. And she ate the pie point!! That was so funny. 18:54
She keeps saying that they only spoke again right before he died, but both she and John Ritter said in a book about the show that they reconciled long before that. She's also a little dismissive of Joyce DeWitt, which I don't like. Joyce DeWitt is a wonderful actress, and brought so much to the show.
@@lisgreen5675 I have seen that. It did seem more like she was owning her role in all of that, though I don't think she was wrong to ask for more money considering how huge she had become as a celebrity. But to hear her speak in this clip, she acts as if it was the Jack and Chrissy show, and Janet was there solely to set up their antics. Joyce DeWitt has frequently said she was happy to focus on perfecting her role in the show and wasn't eager to be a celebrity.

Suzanne's success was as she stated, never let fame go to her head. She never took any of that serious except to make money to build a business and a loving family. Others in that place should take a look at her business model. Make the money, don't act like you're better than anybody else and use the money to build a successful brand and take excellent care of your family. Smart lady
there were two woman that held the gamete in the 70-80's Farrah and Suzanne they were beautiful but they were strong independent woman glad they were our roll models...not to mention the great hair we all wanted!! Thanks
I don’t agree with her analogy that Joyce Dewitt was Ethel. People were not dying to see her with John Ritter again. They were dying to see all three of them together again. I thought she really shunned Joyce in this interview. The show was called Three’s Company for a reason. She also failed to mention that she stopped showing up for work and they had to rewrite scripts at the last minute. That’s why everyone got angry at her. And that’s why she was fired. The producers did not brainwash the rest of the cast. They all suffered because of her antics.
That's the perfect color for Suzanne. Yellow ! Sunny and bright just like her. She never let fame go to her head. Always nice and kind and always the same.
STEP BY STEP was a great show that has been kinda swept under the rug. It was a wonderful show that I will put right up there with FRIENDS and other classic 90"s shows

In my personal opinion, the only real professionals, the real actors, were John Ritter (precious gem, still underrated) and Joyce DeWitt (another precious gem, still underrated too). No doubts, no questions about that. Once for all. What a fuck!
I’m not sure I think I saw this yesterday. But I’ll have to go back and see if I can find it cause I want to rewatch it. But I think it was like an interview. I’m not sure if it was with Joyce DeWitt I wanted to that it was, I don’t know if they were, asking you a question. Something went wrong. Because I think she stopped the interview. And Suzanne Somers said she did not have any issues or problems with joy to it, I don’t know, they didn’t talk for like was it too decades, I think? Someone can please correct me if I’m wrong here, but I was just curious, so also, in one of the interview that saw, she mentioned it might have been this wind that I’m just watching right now where she mentions that John Ritter, calls her up and wants to talk about a dream sequence for the show eight simple rules. She was at the head rush her getting her hair done. And on the phone was John Ritter, wanting to discuss that. Well, as it turns out, I don’t think they ended up using, Suzanne Summers, or, trust you I think it was the characters that portrayed, Krissy and Snow in his dream. But she also mentions that they spoke, and a month later he passed away. Also someone please answer this question for me when was this interview that Joyce, and Krissy, Snow, a.k.a. Krissy know I’m sorry, Suzanne Summers, did it interview and I don’t know, if that was a few years later after John Ritter passed away? In that interview to me personally. Seems like it was a bit forced. Or that it really truly was not in either one of their hard to do it. It didn’t seem real as if they were excited to even see each other. But that’s just my thoughts. Now don’t get me wrong. I like Suzanne Summers. Love during threes company. Love her step-by-step. I never did watch. She’s the shirt. But I don’t know if they ever remained talking to each other even after that interview or what I have no clue. But I imagine now. That Suzanne Richard passed away three days ago now. Rest in peace Suzanne Summers. You will be missed.
The show was good with and without Chrissy.. Suzanne stated if she stayed on they could have done 12 seasons. I disagree they need fresh characters for new storylines and the addition of Cindy and Terri gave the show that. Cheers probably wouldn’t have lasted 11 seasons if Shelly Long wouldn’t have left. The addition of the character Rebecca on Cheers opened up many more storylines to come.I also want to add that Joyce Dewitt as Janet was just as much of a star as Suzanne was on the show.I never thought of her as “ Ethel”
Yep, I feel the same way. If that was the case the show would've fallen apart after she left. It didn't. I always thought Jack and Janet had the best chemistry.
Totally disagree...the show for me was never the same after Chrissy...I didn't like any of the subs ..If I love Lucy would have changed out Ethel & Fred it would have changed the whole dynamics of the show..& it wouldn't have worked....if its not broke don't fix it! After 6 yrs she asked for a raise how that ended in her getting fired was insane...hard to believe it wasnt even open for negotiations...I think it would have fair better if she included Joyce DeWitt.
I love Suzanne Somers but I wonder if it would have been different if Joyce DeWitt would have joined her in this salary fight. Since according to SS it was a female wanting what a male is getting, if the two actresses would have joined who knows.
From what I've read, it was her husband Alan who went to the studio to try and negotiate a raise. She said it was Alan who came home afterwards to tell her she'd been fired. Maybe if she'd wanted an equal playing ground, she shouldn't have sent her husband to do her bidding wars...it was kind of hypocritical.
@@mdooms76 I agree. I just wonder what would have happened if the 3 of them would have gone to the network asking for the same salary the way the cast of Friends did.
She is downplaying how she handled the situation. Even after she negotiated they were writing her into the show and she wouldn’t show up. Joyce and John had a remember two scripts....one with her and one without just in case she didn’t show for a taping. She also wanted equal pay to John who was the lead star. So if they raised her pay they would have to raise John even higher and Joyce. That was way out of budget. She even said “they aren’t going to fire Chrissy”. Guess she learned.
Not only that, she asked for a share of the profits. Also, I don't know why she always says she was on for 6 years; she was fired in season 5. I love her but she bends the truth.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Most likely asking for an additional caveat above a matching salary was a negotiating gambit. She had to demonstrate that she was not going to back down. As she pointed out they had to “put her in her place.” She ended up making more money on her own terms. It would be interesting to know if the executives who denied her lasted in the industry.
Gloria Swanson was a health advocate also but she looked better at 74 than Summers does here at the same age particularly in the face. Imagine that. Not sure though if Sommers has had any surgery at all.

doso don In school I was taught to say by accident and not on accident. Now either is accepted.
@doso don In a home?! So is that where we put the more wholesome types these days.
She is so SMART!!!
She allegedly also wanted partial ownership of the show and suggested a Chrissy Snow movie and animated series.
She handled it wrong. I don’t blame Joyce for not getting involved. I’m not going to lose my job behind some drama.
@@mdooms76 I agree. I just wonder what would have happened if the 3 of them would have gone to the network asking for the same salary the way the cast of Friends did.
@@christianraularroyo2497 3's C is more like Seinfeld (and less like Living Single and Friends) !
Loved her!

You are a beautiful woman and young forever ❤️
She is downplaying how she handled the situation. Even after she negotiated they were writing her into the show and she wouldn’t show up. Joyce and John had a remember two scripts....one with her and one without just in case she didn’t show for a taping. She also wanted equal pay to John who was the lead star. So if they raised her pay they would have to raise John even higher and Joyce. That was way out of budget. She even said “they aren’t going to fire Chrissy”. Guess she learned.
I think you are right.
Not only that, she asked for a share of the profits. Also, I don't know why she always says she was on for 6 years; she was fired in season 5. I love her but she bends the truth.
Suzanne Somers was the best on three's company
Suzanne asked for too much money.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hcShe asked to be paid the same amount as her male costar. That is not “too much money.” It is equitable money.
@@joniheisenberg Suzanne also wanted 10 percent of the show's profits.
@@joniheisenberg Suzanne Somers also missed a couple of the show's tapings on purpose.
Gloria Swanson was a health advocate also but she looked better at 74 than Summers does here at the same age particularly in the face. Imagine that. Not sure though if Sommers has had any surgery at all.
"I'm chronologically old." Profound intelligence!
