Fun fact: The No Man's Land scene in Wonder Woman 1 was almost removed by the studio because they couldn't "understand" it but both Patty Jenkins and Zack Snyder persuaded the studio, with great difficulty, to keep the scene. That scene was just perfect!
@@hue_jazz59 apparently that's something the studio is once again responsible for. Film Theory deduced that they had another ending in mind before changing it to Wonder Woman vs Ares.
@Cipher_Paul I just thought Diana having to accept humanity for their strengths and their faults, that their conflicts cannot be solved by simply punching a big gray villain, to have her world view challenged, to have to grow beyond her naivete And to have Steve Trevor's sacrifice show her that mankind is indeed worthy and that man is indeed capable of nobility Agghhhh it just hits so damn hard Ares could've been watching, he just really shouldn't have been the villain to be beat so soon in WWs movies
Zack Snyder quit working for Warner Bros in 2017 during the filming of Justice League. That's why I'm surprised that Zack Snyder talked about what could have happened later on. He never should have quit.
Yeah, and in that same universe, DC had to be sold to another big company due to the massive flops and no box office successes from 'Joker' or 'Aquaman'. Maybe Disney would've bought it and we could've had 'Marvel Vs DC' crossovers.
Marvel succeded not because quality, but because they kept telling the story nonetheless. Despite many bad movies. They were consistent and people stand with them. NOT because of quality.
That's exactly what happened. Consistency. They didnt try to change course after 2 movies and while in the middle of filming their team up movie. People compare the success of first 3 DCEU movies to the entirety of the MCU first phase. 😂 Hogwash. The trajectory was fine until Justice League. Aquaman even still showed promise. They blew it all up with Birds of Prey. Downhill ever since and Snyder was long gone.
Him killing off Superman only in the second film of the series was the biggest problem I had because it should've been earned and felt like it was the end, similar to Iron Man's in Endgame. We should've seen the entire Justice League at the funeral.
You're absolutely right. Barry's lightning is blue when he's not wearing the suit. It dissipates energy consistently while he's wearing it so that he doesn't built up a massive charge. It's (very) briefly explained in the film. :)
Thanks for the video. It’s so painful to be a DC fan. It was there, right there, everything was happening and WB interfered and messed everything up. The blame that was laid on Snyder was in such bad taste and the way critics blasted BvS was insane. The cut they put out after the studio made them cut so much was a mess but then we got the ultimate cut but still there old school Superman fans just couldn’t enjoy what they were getting and had to complain about the tone. I loved it, many loved it and now we have to accept that we were robbed I really don’t know if they’ll ever get this right for live action I just don’t have faith. I like Gunn as a director but I don’t know about his executive skills
EXACTLY! The Flash was such a lame take on Flashpoint! BATMAN TALKING TRUTH UNDER LASSO'S INFLUENCE AND TALKING CORNY!!!??? Like wtf? Batman is immune to the lasso of truth! They had to ruin Batfleck too. They couldn't have broken the bread without it.
"Superman fans just couldn't enjoy what they were getting.." Because they didn't like it. Why couldn't you "just enjoy" the Hamadaverse and James Gunn movies. GTFOH
I'm not a big Snyder fan, but I do believe that what is real will prosper. What the fans genuinely want will inevitably come to fruition. No matter how hard WB tries to go through with their stupid vision.
i so agree man at the end of the day theyre gonna do what makes them money right and the most. i like the snyderverse . and in terms of live action movies, everything involved with that stuff was like the first time they really tried to do something that big and kinda follow marvel which they can do if executed properly. chris nolan is in charge of WB now i think so hes gonna bring back zack and the snyderverse will live again with no one to disrupt it. that was a problem before theyd never stop breATHING DOWN SNYDERS NECK shit i hits caps lock lol
I've kinda come to terms with the fact that it is very unlikely that we will return to the Snyderverse, but not gonna lie, everything we've heard about it sounds amazing. I can't believe this was all pitched to WB in some form and they said "nah." Snyder even gave them an out with resetting the universe, but they still bottled it. Could have kept these stories going for YEARS. To think they thought that Josstice League and the Hamadaverse movies that followed were going to "save" the DCEU. I have no clue how these people get into positions of power in the first place.
Damn that's crazy. Knowing how epic Darkseid would have been & that whole invasion playing out would have been amazing, and now knowing this. The pure chaos the JL would have been facing in addition to Luther's team and MOS2 with Braniac, Batflecks epic solo batman movie with his Oscar winning touch, Aquaman 2 the way it was meant to be and GL corps, and WW3 in modern day. It's just epic as fuuuhhh. Wb execs are too scared and selfish to see things through. Now the audiences are shifting from that troll mcu humor to more adult themes and darker tones and stories that are deeper, yet Gunn is giving us MCU 2.0 with actors that look like they're cast from pretty little liars
In some other pop corn of the multiverse people are watching Zack Snyder's JL 1,2,3, Flash 1,2,3, Batfleck's Batman, Cavill's Man of Steel 1,2,3, and more.
Whether you like what Zack was doing or not, he seems to be the only guy that really tried to push the boundaries when establishing these god like characters. I really think they should #RestoreTheSnyderverse and #SellZSJLtoNetlflix. Only good things will happen.
It’s such a shame we didn’t get to see that original plan for the dceu because a lot of it sounds very interesting especially with reverse flash and darkseid being the big bad for the whole universe.
Blame WBD, terrible studio who hates the DC fanbase and labeled them 'cultists', then they cancel it all, hire a hack from Marvel and expect us to throw money at them. I will never pay a penny for a DC product with Gunns name attached. WBD dont deserve DC, its time to sell. Until then #NotAPenny #DOA
The original cut of The Flash at early screenings from over a year ago had Reverse Flash be the one to attack Barry the first time in the speed force, not Dark Flash. They changed ALOT from the original cut to the theatrical release
@Humanipathic No, it was a basic cgi render/place holder in the original cut and no actor. The figure was distorted, almost vibrating, but clearly the Reverse Flash. They even had temporary adr where the figure spoke, saying "Hello, Barry." before attacking him. That was also the image Barry originally had a nightmare about, not Dark Flash
I don’t really care 4 gunns reboot. Not because of Snyder but just his choices so far have not leveled with me, I wish WBs would pull theyre heads outta their asses and wake up already. Hearing all of this news abt all the greatness we woulda got makes me even more upset that we’ve been robbed of all that beauty. It sad we live in a world where ego is now overshadowing quality.
That sounded amazing. It's such a terrible shame how off course it all ended up. Almost seems too unbelievable it got to this point. "This world is divided. They are a primitive species. Unevolved and at war with one another. Too separate to be one. Their free will must be ripped from them, like the other worlds. Given absolution in one glorious belief, to serve him." Yes Steppenwolf, you are probably right.
I'm not sure what to feel about gunneverse. The dude gives off arrogance and resentment for Snyder fans. Like he's annoyed at fans and looks down on us .
It is upsetting that Zack was never given the chance to complete his vision for the DCEU, but luckily the people at WB who took that vision and ruined it are now gone. Hopefully Gunn/Safran are able to see their vision thru with no interference.
The fact that Snyder’s Justice League arc would have ended with Affleck’s Batman’s death, following by The Flash final film where not only we would’ve had Reverse Flash as primary villain but having Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Flashpoint Batman is a huge loss. A huge loss to DC fans.
No doubt about it...the WB regime was certainly the true villains of the DCEU. "And so falls the house of Wayne..." Oh, what might have been. Great video! You are speaking our language. 👍🖐👊
DC would have dominated if they continued Snyder’s vision because the end game of Snyder’s vision was always a reset. Imagine a dark grim universe that ended with a reboot because the Flash has to reset the timeline to the beginning where the timeline could have been light hearted . Smh
Darkseid isn’t Thanos he is Darkseid. And if you read the comics Reverse Flash does end up being the final villain for dc before new 52 and Darkseid was already defeated in final crises.
It's not too late to restore the Snyder Verse. He can takeoff from where the Snyder cut left off and they can say Ezra's flash is no longer in our universe as a repercussion of his messing with the timeline. Marvel is falling on their face with over saturation, "MsheU" backlash, and Waititi humor fatigue.. We need to flood WB Discovery with comments and Tweets on twitter to fix this, they owe us and they've got plenty of Money now thanks for Barbie!!!
I'm just thinking how I'll have hard time explaining to my kid, when he's old enough to watch DCEU, how come they never finished the stories and the disappointment he'll face.
I don't think the DCU will even see the light of day. Due to the writer's strike, wb has been loosening money every day, and the fact that they released four movies this year and two of them flop and the other two could also is a huge down fall for the DCU and james Gunn's plan.
Of course, after the movie launched, crashed and burned, Snyder comes with "wow, that would've never happened if it was done by me, I would've done what everyone wanted to see". Yeah, Zack, sure. Your plan was so perfect, it totally wasn't your fault that the movies you got to make ended up getting panned the same.
G'day it's Steven from Down Under Its great to hear a review based on fact and ubiased opinion. Im seriously fatigued and over this whole situation. So disappointed that Warner Bros continues to mismanage and damage the DC brand, for me its about the characters, how on earth can you stuff thing's up so badly and so consistently is beyond me, especially when you have a very popular actor ( Henry Cavill ) portraying the greatest superhero known to mankind, the mind boggles. Im not supporting Warner Bros, but i am supporting DC and even though I'm tempted to boycott DC movies like the millions of dedicated fans i cant do that.
The most annoying thing is, we'd still end up having a Flash movie this or next year. Only with a coherent universe, more films, and a much better story. Instead we wasted 5 years on nothing because of executive ego.
These companies shouldnt be trusted with IPs. It seems as if a movie production company that was built and led by people who know the material should be the ones in control of IPs.
A Justice League Unlimited on the big screen would’ve been very interesting to see, wonder how people who have loved and maybe grown up with those shows would’ve reacted to that, maybe could’ve been DC’s equivalent to the Portals scene in Endgame
The downfall was when they axed the guy who actually looked like Superman. But instead we’re going to get James Gunn comical DC, since that’s what the ppl like, and obviously hate Snyder version of Justice League.
@@TheRealNeil-kc7si I just looked him up, he has “Universe B” Clark Kent look about him. He may can swing it, I’ll give him a fair chance. But Henry Cavill was the epitome of Clark Kent visually, he fit the film tone and had the look.
@@Vintage-28 yeah, idk wtf “Universe B” means. Either he looks like Superman or he doesn’t, which one is it? Don’t let your love for Cavill cloud you from being open minded. Cavill isn’t the only one that can play Superman
@@TheRealNeil-kc7si you’re correct and I’ll take off the blinders. But he better not be all John Cena “funny” or campy. He’s already gonna have that 40s look correct?
Unfortunately, WB lost its mind and got rid of Zack Snyder who had a real plan for DC and they F__ked that up completely. Zack is a visionary and would of brought DC to the heights of Marvel but they had zero patience and were to greedy and they fell.
I loved how Barboe movie made fun of the whole situation. The line about Jack Snyder's 4 hour justice league was such a burn to the current leaders at helm for DC.
Nevermind that Zack and Cavil planned doing Man of Steel 2 way back when and Warner forced their hand on that issue as well. This Forced BvS forward in the timeline, making things feel rushed.
imagine the truck driver who cause Victor's accident and his mom died is none other than Eobard Thawne (or at least his the cause).. the true villain is Hamada and friends😅😂 agree with you. i don't care about small characters too. what we need is the main Justice League and then add others, not the other way around.
All the Revenge of the Nerds that were mad at Zack Snyder for "having all the toys in the DC sandbox" got what they wanted...Zack's moved on, lighter tone, and all the nostalgia you can handle. You're all welcome.
Bunch of whiney so called "rEaL dC fAnS", they can have Gunns marvelized DCU. Im completely out going forward. We lost a comic accurate DC director and got a juvenile manchild hack replacement. #NotAPenny #DOA
Honestly, if WB would have continued the Snyderverse until the end, i would GLADLY watch the DCU, but as of right now, i have no interestin supporting DC.
You spoke out all of my mind, the WB truly a main villain here. They just too overreacted to critics and over expectations that their DCEU movie should reach 1 billions like MCU, MCU is success after about 6-7 movies, not instantly got the massive success, and the hype of Avengers is because its a first movie that show all main heroes in same screenn
I know there are many different views, my comment, though, is that I agree that WB was the overall reason as to why the DC films are in their current state. I think what we are seeing today, pre-Gunn's official DC verse run, is tidal-wave of poor exec / ceo decision making that goes back well into the 90s with how things ended up with Clooney's Batman and Robin, that right there was and is and sure sign that the company didn't know how to faithfully bring a comic book movie to life (they just got uber lucky with the combo of early Burton, Keaton beginning to hit his peak, and Nicholson's tenure, added up with Elfman's score, Hamm's script, it being so to speak the summation of the 80s decade rolled up into one script, ect, ect). Once they had one success, they quickly attempted to strike lightning twice and tried to milk Batman/Batmania into a cashcow with a lot of toys involved. You can study the studio's history with films (the Superman franchise almost mirrors the Batman four film semi-franchise) and there were a lot of zanny DC property ideas in many stages of production from the mid 90s through the 2007 writers strike. So the company never had a good track record and really only got profitable when they got the off chance to get a phenomenal director behind a project, a solid script, and an actor who could embody the role for a generation to come. They attempted to do this twice in the early 2000s trying to follow this model, one failed and one succeeded into a franchise, Superman Returns vs Batman Begins. Once they felt like they hit the magic formula again, both directors were allowed to make the film they invisioned, however, as a company, it was clear that they didn't knew how to manage themselves or know what a good product is. Returns got green lit because of Bryan Singer's success on X-MEN - oh, he knows how to make lots of money with super hero franchises let's give him the GO AHEAD and let him make the film he wants. VS, Nolan appears to be a phenomal director in the early stages of genius. We've studied his work, he very well could be the modern ages Hitchcock. He films with integrity and will make the shot practical unless it can't be done practically. In both cases, Singer is picked blind eye and only gets the job because of his previous success on a Marvel film (is this sounding familiar yet?) versus we're picking this director because he won us over on his unique vision and he has a lot of compelling ideas that need to be told on film. Cashcow #2, Singer won Returns over the other directors vying to make the film and he promised to bring back the Donner-verse and set the film within the Chris Reeve movie series. Oh hey, people love the first 2 Chris Reeves films, the first Superman movie made a lot of money, and on paper, this sounds like a swell idea! -ie taking already successful super hero film and trying to recreate its succes with the current film project (getting a lot of Josstice league vibes here!) versus Nolan. Nolan, look, what Donner did with Superman 1 is perhaps the best super hero film, it is the quote and quote archetype. My question, is how. How did he do that? What is recipe of success? Nolan even called up Donner a few times while making the film. It's very clear when studying Begins Donner's Superman 1 had on the film, in some regards, it is the Donner style remake of Batman. So Nolan studied the film and studied WHY the film worked and then asked, how do I update this formula for today, apply it to Batman, and put my spin on it and make it my own. What's more, Begins, though original, had a lot of comicbook source material it was pulling from and trying to stay true to, + films that it throwing back to (Burton's film Donner's work, ect). Returns is an original story that basically is an exact remake of the plot of Superman 1 (now I'm getting Force Awaken Vibes and how Disney fumbled with Star Wars success...) Two films made at basically around the same time, two completely different results, and A LOT can me learned about the company with how we got these final products. Another final thing to learn and gleam from this is where was the oversight? Clearly Routhe's Returns Superman and Bale's Begins Batman didn't co-exist in the same universe. What happens if both films are successful? They will want to green light sequels (and although a shared universe in comic book movies wasn't a thing yet, but it was on the horizon AND one of the failed early 2000 movies WB unsuccessfully put into production was BvS movie--- so they had in fact been working on a shared Batman Superman universe for years) HOWEVER how in what universe really could Routhe's Superman and Bale's Batman co-exist together in a film? I know the two films weren't meant to go together, but we literally are right on the horizon of Marvel starting their Avenger's MCU verse- talk about being tone deaf on not seeing where the trend is going- my point is had both been successful and we got to 2009 with both film franchises side by side post MCU what was going to be WB's attempt to reconcile the films' universes and continuity? My point is that they had NO VISION, no direction, they green lit two projects but had no foresight when they green lit them to build into something bigger. Imagine, instead, if they went with Singer, the mandate was that somehow you have to tie the Donner-verse to Nolan's Batman universe, perhaps an early Crisis on Infinite Earths type event could be have been formed. OR they scrapped Singer and talked with Christ Nolan and said make your films stand alone BUT we want to build into something bigger and we want to use your films as our basis, ie, our Superman film will need to feel like it either can be set in a real world setting like Nolan's Begin's verse and Gotham OR our Superman needs to be made with the intention of one day interacting with Bale's Batman. Zach Snyder and Henry Cavil (who was runner up as Supe's to Routhe) could have actually begun production a whole sum 5 years before Nolan wrapped up his trilogy. None of this was thought up, though, no plan or cohesiveness, and on top of that, WB was making a JLA film at the same time, a film that had Batman and Superman BUT not Routhe or Bale-- imagine the sloppiness -- if all three had become successful, how could they reconcile this to public, oh, none of these films relate at all to one another -- then when the fans want more-- who are they devout their cash to if all 3 end up warranting sequels and universe's (not to mention the again unconnected Green Lantern was also being made around this time). Essentially we already watched where DC is at now back 15 years ago. Semi Successful property (Nolen verse/ Snyder verse), shoe horned marvel director hired to copycat a previously successful superhero film (Singer with Donner's Superman / Wheadon with his Avengers film), a haphazardly made Amanda Waller film (Green Lantern / Suicide Squad), WB canceling a Justice League film and firing the director (Mortal/Snyder Cut), green lighting unconnected DC titles with no vision or shared vision or structure/ unlike Figee with Marvel (all the films mentioned above/ all the films post Snyder's firing - ie Hamada years), BOTH histories demonstrate a WB not making any plans for the future and whimsically green lighting projects that sound good and having no strategic structuring on how to build a brand or universe, the list goes on, but we basically are on rinse and cycle of a repletion WB has notoriously done with DC properties really since the 90s.
That is just my initial comment to show that overall, as a company, WB just didn't know how to make these movies, just looked at these properties as $'s and did not focus on quality of product and the importance of storytelling. I also feel they mishandled what to do next after Nolan. This might sound controversial but they probably should have started with one of their properties that was already successful instead of what we got with the Snyderverse. WB basically had 2 properties to work with, the already successful Nolan trilogy and Bale's Batman and the preproduction of Justice League Mortal. Early on their plan should have been to keep up with Marvel instead of just waiting to see how popular Marvel franchise movies become and how successful would an ensemble hero film be. This was one of their biggest mistakes, waiting on the side lines versus what we got, them trying to play catch up when the race was already over with. Now a lot would say that Nolan's films don't fit within the DCU, and that the films make the most since to view Batman in world similar to our own, with no other heroes or super powers, and I'm not denying that, plus, others will note that Nolan was ready to move on, didn't intend to franchise out and keep storybuilding, and Bale would begin to focus on other films as he had become more prestigious as an actor. And I'm not denying that either. However, one thing of note is that Nolan DID stay on in the DCU. Nolan was the first person DC turned to when moving on to Man of Steel-- initially I would imagine they approached him asking if he wanted to direct. I then imagine that he said he wouldn't direct, but he would executive produce and find the director that would be best suited for Superman. In its early stages, MOS was being approached in the Nolan style of film-making. Then at some point once Zach really took off into production, I think Nolan kind of stepped back and once his role of being the godfather of MOS was over, he then focused on other projects. This would be, in my opinion mind you, a major setback to the DCU and the films we got. Zach is an amazing visual artist and some of his ideas (especially on the concept of cinematic epics) are compelling BUT as a filmmaker (and I know there are a lot of fans of Zack here, so I'm trying not be disrespectful, I'm just giving my opinion) his weakness' is cohesive storytelling and editing. Which is all to say is Zach Snyder needs someone like Nolan to oversight him. He needs a producer who wont be just a yes man but he needs someone with movie business savvy to come in and tell Zach how it is, and they have to have the kind of friendship and relationship where Zach would relent and give in and trust his friend's advice, even if he doesn't see it. You didn't see this too much with MoS-- probably because of Nolan's oversight of the script and production and perhaps partly because of Goyer's script-- but come BvS, even with the Director's cut, some major flaws of filmmaking are exceedingly evident that while Zach had a good idea, someone needed to step in and say, okay, how do we take this good idea you have, and make a good film out of it. I'm just being honest. So in my opinion, from the get go, if they went with Zach's plan, direction, and storytelling, for the DCU, then he needed someone like a Kevin Fiege to answer to that understood and loved comic books, storytelling, how to make and sell movies, and someone who wasn't going to BS Snyder and was there to help Zach realize his vision and make the best product possible. They almost had that with Nolan but come BvS it basically was just Snyder who was in charge, until WB execs stepped in right after Suicide Squad's release and had him edit it. Another misstep, which is two-fold, is the hiring of Zach Snyder (which mind you doesn't mean I feel he SHOULD'NT have been hired and the one to make these films, I'm merely talking professionally how it was handled by the WB execs). Two missteps with the hiring process with Snyder was 1) he was the guy who made Watchman, if you hire this guy, then you are hiring a dark gritty version of the DCU which probably should be R or hard PG-13, and he'll bring controversial decision to these characters. If they are going to go with him, and let him basically be both Fiege AND Weadon for the first JLA film, then know what you are hiring. However, WB execs should have sat back and said, are we sure that is the DCU landscape we want to make? Again, a huge kryptonite for WB execs for all the 2000s is that they seem to have NEVER had a solid plan for what they want to make and build and based almost all decision on knee jerk reactions. They made MoS halfcocked with NO real plan use MoS to build into a greater DCU, MOS was retrofitted afterwards to do this. Ultimately, I think Goyer's script needed someone to come in revise it (especially those Pa Kent scenes) and Snyder I don't think understood how to tell a compelling Superman story, his version of Superman (which I grant did become popular, and if you're a fan of that version, I'm not complaining and happy you got to see that version on screen) I just think as a far as mass audience goes we probably needed a middle ground of classic Reeve's esque Superman and Snyder's realism take. So again I think WB mistepped when they brought MoS to light, they were going for a version of Superman that I think ultimately didn't really fit the character (I know controversial opinion here). 2) as stated above, instead of starting fresh and from the start, Nolan should have instead been brought in to be more of a Kevin Fiege. If WB had paid him a lot of money and put in his contract that he could still make his own non-superhero films he might of said yes. In addition to this, since Bale's Batman was already successful, MoS probably should have been written in a way to connect to that film series and universe. Bale could have come back in the role of maybe a Nick Fury sequel character making cameos here and there and then probably dawning the Batsuit again for JLA. Joseph Gordon Levitt could have been Batman for this DCU or could have been an algalm of Robin,Nightwing,Red Robin, Batman. Cavill probably should have still been cast as Superman. Snyder probably should have still directed, but he should have been apart of team of creatives, headed by Nolan, instead of a one man show. I think the opening of MOS with Jor-El was solid and probably should have been kept, but then I would have reworked the whole film to fit within Nolan's realistic take of the DCU. Either Levit could have cameoed or Bale himself (maybe even as an end credit scene similar to Iron Man's end credit scene). The film should have been solo, but as audiences left the theater they should have had a clear communication that MoS is building towards something greater (JLA) and to get excited for it. Have Bale lead the JLA probably and pull off the Iron Man death but let it be Bale for JLA 1. Probably go with Snyder's first initial plans that Kryponian DNA explains the Greek gods and such. Before moving onto JLA they probably should have made solo films for some of the JLA members, probably a Flash movie for sure, Wonder Woman's WW1 film was probably still a good concept, I only would have green lit Suicide Squad only if they were going to be in the JLA film and play a prominent part storywise. If Reverse Flash was meant to be Snyder's big bad, then make Reverse Flash perhaps the villain of JLA 1. Heck, JLA could have been partly based on Flashpoint.
Had they gone this route they probably would have been able to keep pace with Marvel instead of playing catchup and just viewed as a copycat. The other option would have been to greenlight JLA Mortal, rework Ryan Renolds GL film to fit within Mortal's universe and plot (probably having Common's GL be a part of the plot) and then should have worked on solo films based on Mortal's cast. This would have beat Marvel to the punchline, if the film was successful. Instead, I feel WB went with the worst possible route, already after Marvel grew legs, begin a massive production on film that will take YEARS to complete that may or may not be connected to larger DCU films and to still play the sidelines game. Then when Avenger's made a billion, then overnight, WB execs tried to play catchup turning MoS 2's sequel into a giant NoNo of a film how can one logically say that making a MoS sequel, a Batman film, a JLA prequel film, plus a DCU introduction film, all rolled into one is a smart move? Will give you just one film Zach, then you have HAVE to make JLA, and so do all the prep work you need in just that one single film. Snyder should have walked. He wasn't allowed creative freedom to let the story naturally grow into JLA, instead he was mandated to turn his MoS single movie into a build up to JLA --- when that film wasn't made with that in made from the get go-- my point above is that it should have. WB's half ass formula a sure fire way to flop a franchise. Then Zach makes his dark gritty take on Batman and Superman and then WB goes, wait we don't like it, its too dark, its not like Marvel, and its too long, cut it shorter, you're rule of thumb is cut out Superman/Clark Kent scenes but keep Batman in, Batman sells $'s, don't worry about the plot or if the film makes sense, so long as Batman is on screen the movie will sell. WB was just notorious on how to ruin their franchise. You can't green lit and make your film and hire your team and then after the film is MADE you can't go back and go hey wait this isn't what we want, let's somehow use magic stone soup stew to change this movie we don't want into something that it's not! They did this with the following films: Suicide Squad, BvS, Josstice League, Flash, Aquaman 2, and probably others. Everytime they did this it never produced sales for them and audiences didn't walk away enjoying the experience. This is not the way to make a film or film universe, before you make a film, know what film you want to make, and then stick with it. Stay the course. WB has 0 track record of staying the course and having a solid plan from the get go. They're plan is just, if it is successful and sells, then we'll keep making films and figure it out later. Every film they've made has basicily had this mentality. I'm not uber confident that they wont do the same thing again to Gunn, but at least with Gunn this is the first time in the company's history with DC films that they are starting with a vision and plan PRIOR to making a film.
JL 2 & 3 plus Batfleck Solo and MOS 2 can still be happening if Snyder can starts shoorting in early 2024. Fans can rally protest at WB studios, and Ben Affleck's house at the same time if they have to!!!!
Snyder needs the reigns again. WB destroyed yet another movie that could have been great. At this point, I am rooting for WBD to go bankrupt so they have to sell DC properties that they have been destroying since Snyder left. Universal or Netflix would be a great fit for the DC universe. I will never spend a dime on Gunns DCU... #RestoretheSnyderverse #SellZSJLtoNetflix
@DCfanboy31 lmao wow you're a moron if you believe that. We have made movies flop and we will continue the boycott until Snyder finishes his vision. Look at the DCU It's D.O.A. Gunn sucks. No one except for idiots wants DC turned into Marvel 2.0. Every Hamada movie and Gunn is a flop. Their movies sunk faster than the Titanic. Go back to Marvel Where everything is bright and a woke joke. While us adults watch a great story arch, Dark gritty visual story perfection. Snyders movies are the best comic movies ever! 🎬
The details of what WBD robbed us of is unforgivable. Once Aquaman 2 comes out I’m done with dc live action movies. WBD & DC CAN BURN 🔥 & go bankrupt for this crime against us fans!!!!!!!
I actually like that idea/plot twist, making the audience think that Darkseid is the big bag since a lot of people (mostly not dc fans) kept comparing him to Thanos. So having a plot twist that reverse flash is the real villain would be a great idea. I mean seriously, this character is capable of ruining timelines and all the universes, so with good writing he would make a really great Big Bad of the DCEU.
Honestly, WB's handling of the DCEU just makes me feel sad for the position Gunn has been put in. I mean he didn't change the DCEU and work toward a reboot. WB did that, and they hired him to do that reboot hoping it works out. And so he's in a position where he has to build a new universe on the fractured back of the DCEU; a back that WB fractured. Hopefully WB doesn't make the same mistake with the DCU as well. As for Gunn's strategy, though, I feel like relying on a lot of smaller characters is a far better strategy than relying on bugger characters. Those characters will already bring immediate success, everyone knows that. But if he can successfully make general audiences aware of smaller characters, it might in turn help to boost the sales of the comics, which would help bring life back into the entire DC brand. And I think it's obvious that's what he's trying to do with all the recent DC trailers recommending specific comics for people to check out and get to know the characters before the films. It's a great business strategy in terms of creating a feedback loop between comics and films that each, in turn, boost the profits of the other. Whether it works out remains to be seen, but I have hope it will.
I feel like once WB parted ways with Snyder The fans weren't as invested in the projects, and it brought upon a lot of criticism from the critics. They should have, let's Zack. Finish his films. Additionally, they should have let all of the creatives finish their films the way they wanted
WB did it in such a dismissive and middle finger sort of way to DC fans! They didn’t want to pay Henry a higher fee considering their debt but Zalav is one of if not the highest paid movie CEO isn’t that odd? Claimed due to age but they want to keep Gal Gadot for WW3 ? If they do that it’s definitely a middle finger to Henry and Ray Fisher! So they caused fans to lose massive interest and cause severe blow back! Fans are forever divided! Snyder fans aren’t a small lot! You divide the fans you can forget it on your films! Dc Fans aren’t asking for a freaking blue beetle, Amanda Waller or Booster Gold film, or Swamp thing or The Authority! A Cyborg solo film was definitely the way to go after Snyder Cut! Albeit, Cyborg doesn’t have a direct villain but you could’ve used Cybor to tether to Elseworlds and introduce Trigon or others
I'm not gonna watch any of the new DCU movies. Snyderverse movies brought me into DC. So imma wait for that to be restored. If not I'm happy with the 3 movies we have now. #RestoreTheSnyderverse
Same here. I’m completely satisfied with the Snyder trilogy. If Warner Discovery doesn’t want to continue it, then I have no interest in investing in a new universe. What’s the point anyways, huh? So it can also be rebooted halfway through as well?!?! No thanks
Well that’s stupid. Warners Bros. basically thought “Hey, we’ll butcher all your favorite characters in ultra edgy movies but it’s ok. We might get it right next time.” How do people even like this?
Let's be honest, What Zack could have done would have been amazing BUT he did need to be reigned in. Some of his ideas were bonkers and just stupid. Such as Wonder Woman being part Kyrptonian as well as the old Gods because of the ancient scout ship, Lois cheating on Clark with Bruce and then going on to have Bruce's baby. What kind of bullshit is that? I love Zack's films(as much as I love BVS...Clark was a bit too moody for my liking. I get his arc but he should have never questioned his purpose or been close to giving up hope...It was a huge step back from where Clark was headed at the end of MOS) but not all of his idea were knockouts. If the studio would have actually let Zack do everything he wanted then those movies would have gotten even more backlash than BVS did. ZSJL was the perfect balance of what Zack wanted and what the studio wanted.
you gonna say how Superman should of died smiling too? "Some of his ideas were bonkers and just stupid. Such as Wonder Woman being part Kyrptonian as well as the old Gods because of the ancient scout ship, Lois cheating on Clark with Bruce and then going on to have Bruce's baby. What kind of bullshit is that? " And what???? Yea the cheating part WAS a thing but that was a earlier version of the story.
I’m a Snyder fan, I’ll admit, I didn’t like the idea of Lois cheating on Supes with 🦇’s. It was to set up the reboots where friends become enemies but I didn’t like the idea nevertheless. WW being part Kryptonian and Old God appealed to me. For example, for comic book readers, WW was not made of clay! When this concept was introduced in the 90s, readers from prior years went crazy! Yet, it’s the understanding now. Film wise, as long as it’s understood this is film story line and not comic book story line that’s okay, I don’t need 100% comic book accuracy but at least 75%-85% accurate. I think Supes being moody worked. It said to the common person, hey, at times it can be a lot! We’re super heroes but we feel as you feel. I don’t need that 1950’s, tighty wighty up up and away here I come to save the day crap. Really Supes was hopeful throughout MOS, BVS and JL it was those around him who were not. I don’t remember Supes ever giving up hope and saying forget it, why bother. Refresh my memory, where and when did he do this?
@@LanternEnergy " I don’t remember Supes ever giving up hope and saying forget it, why bother. Refresh my memory, where and when did he do this?" He did. When he went to Lois at her apartment in Washington DC and said "Superman was never real, just the dream of a farmer from Kansas". Then he proceeded to runaway, or fly away to be exact and mope in the mountains because he gave up. That was ridiculous. I didn't mind Superman being a bit broody in MOS because it made sense. He didn't know where he came from and why and because he was different, he felt isolated. That would make anyone feel that way. But by the end of the movie he was already working his way out of that and should have been set in his role as Superman or at least moving towards it. He took a major step back in BVS and was even more depressed than in MOS. Zack pretty much took out any hopefulness Superman should have and made him quit, even if it was for a little while. Superman was far from hopeful in BVS and luckily was salvaged in ZSJL.
@@andrewvincent7299 In BVS, yes he did say that. However, this scene is one many remember because it added depth to the character. The politically correct term is “ethical dilemma.” It gave depth to Superman to make you care about him a lot more beyond than just get in there Supes and smash and oh do the open shirt phone booth nostalgia thing while you’re at it. I’m not sure if you’ve watched all of the Superman films but all of them has had this ethical dilemma with Supes. Him flying away wasn’t ridiculous, it adhered to a more modern and current time. It let you know that heroes can be conflicted and struggle with internal strife as you and I. What Cavill did with the scene there was just flat out good acting. All heroes should have a low point, if you’re just always, all day and night just come on guys, never lose hope. People will turn on you eventually because they’ll say that’s not how people tend to act. He didn’t just give up, he was self-reflecting in temporary self-imposed exile. He just was blamed for killing a multitude of people, him just gun hoing right back into action when the media and the public hates you, isn’t smart and will make people hate you even more. It made sense what he did. He did lose hope but he bounced back and that’s why people loved that scene! He was down but not out! People related! Let’s keep in mind, there’s a lot in the film for BVS that Zack didn’t want in there and 30 min he was forced to cut. Zack was a director and that’s it meaning he had a boss and wasn’t calling the final shots. He has stated they have him a hard time as if he was being a prick when he wasn’t and he had to fight to get a lot done because the executives kept meddling with the process. Towards the end of the film, I disagree, Superman shouldn’t and didn’t need to be set in his role by the end of BVS. It’s what helps build a character when you watch him go on a journey oppose to just bam we’re there now. I’m okay with him still having some doubt and uncertainty of self. For example, Black Adam is an example when you’re too sure if yourself too quickly and becomes an anti-hero too quickly. Supes didn’t take a step back in BVS, it was the script writing and development and meddling executives that messed with execution that caused it to seem that way. People that watched the ultimate edition saw differently. I think you’re being over dramatic and oversimplified when you say Zack took out any hopefulness of Supes and made him quit even for a short period was a no. It was a reasonable amount of despair. Yet, you picked a brief moment and treat it as his overall arching attitude throughout the film when it most certainly was not. Salvaged by ZSJL? Salvaged? If the executives get out the way a lot wouldn’t be as messy as it is now. Snydercut single handedly made people take interest in the DC again. I admit, I didn’t think BVS was great and it did give me pause but Wheadon killed me. Executives forced Zack to put a lot of crap in the film, he said the Martha line was forced into the film.
@@LanternEnergy You don't understand Superman and the role of 'Aspirational Hero' which Superman is. These are characters that do have ethical dilemmas but they never give up on their dreams and goals. They never give up hope. They're not supposed to be like us, they are supposed to be like people we should aspire to be hence the term "Aspirational Hero". Luke Skywalker is another aspirational hero(in the original trilogy). He had his ethical dilemma but he never gave up hope, he never quit. It's fine for Superman to have his low point but for a hero like him, he is NEVER supposed to quit. He's supposed to keep believing and go through the hard times. That is the type of inspiration they are supposed to give us. Spiderman is more of the type of hero you are thinking of. Superman is not that type of hero. I could look past Clark's broodiness as I said in MOS being that it was his origin, but Zack just got him completely wrong in BVS and essentially erased the progress he made at the end of MOS. By that point he should have never questioned his role as Superman and should have been set on proving his detractors wrong.
Fun fact: The No Man's Land scene in Wonder Woman 1 was almost removed by the studio because they couldn't "understand" it but both Patty Jenkins and Zack Snyder persuaded the studio, with great difficulty, to keep the scene. That scene was just perfect!

I think they explained that in the prequel comic. it's probably somewhere in the extended cut too
You're absolutely right. Barry's lightning is blue when he's not wearing the suit. It dissipates energy consistently while he's wearing it so that he doesn't built up a massive charge. It's (very) briefly explained in the film. :)

So THAT’S what I read about in one of the Reddit leaks!
Anyone known cast? Or was it Ezra too?
@Humanipathic No, it was a basic cgi render/place holder in the original cut and no actor. The figure was distorted, almost vibrating, but clearly the Reverse Flash.
I think Bruce Wayne's death was just a scrapped idea, Bruce would have eventually survive Justice League 2, so he could have appeared in Flashpoint

They just too overreacted to critics and over expectations that their DCEU movie should reach 1 billions like MCU, MCU is success after about 6-7 movies, not instantly got the massive success, and the hype of Avengers is because its a first movie that show all main heroes in same screenn
We'll never see the Trinity on screen again.
I’m sure certain people would’ve enjoyed Mera’s story arc in the flashpoint movie… 😬
We are all friends like family Nobody's going to break our family
ZACK SNYDER and DAVID AYER is the all time best directors
snyder be like "isnt that MY decision?"
Returns is an original story that basically is an exact remake of the plot of Superman 1 (now I'm getting Force Awaken Vibes and how Disney fumbled with Star Wars success...)
Two films made at basically around the same time, two completely different results, and A LOT can me learned about the company with how we got these final products.

No😊
Snyder needs the reigns again. #RestoretheSnyderverse

@DCfanboy31 and you would know that..lmao. sure buddy.. DCU is a joke and so is Gunn.
You know what i want to see the new superman and how he would be juat like Reeves
Company with the greatest superheroes of all time in their hands and they don’t know what to do with them.
The details of what WBD robbed us of is unforgivable. Once Aquaman 2 comes out I’m done with dc live action movies. WBD & DC CAN BURN 🔥 & go bankrupt for this crime against us fans!!!!!!!
SHUT UP!!!!!
Stop hating about WBD / DC because they will not burn and they will never go bankrupt!!!!!!!!

@@Spectre80 no. And the studio is $45 billion in debt.
If I was a gigabillionaire, I would hire the whole Snyder Universe team so they can finish this project. What a shame 😢
I'm not gonna watch any of the new DCU movies. Snyderverse movies brought me into DC. So imma wait for that to be restored. If not I'm happy with the 3 movies we have now. #RestoreTheSnyderverse
hell yeah
Your probably never gonna watch a dc movie again If that’s the case
Thank you
You're welcome!
Now why this huge article right in a time when the DCU and the very super hero genre is on hault?
It's rather curious
Zack Snyder have great vision too bad most people don't get mos and bvs and it's not being complete is very sad
Man I wish that would of happened. Would of been epic!!
Netflix need to buy the rights to the synderverse.
And what????
Refresh my memory, where and when did he do this?"
He did.
