    I drove this tank in service, one of the best, petrol engine, Rolls Royce, nice and warm in the cold months!

    One of the most successful tanks in history. Constantly upgraded for half a century across different countries, on the same Centurion hull.

      @@InfernoVolatil Well if it was built and deployed during WW2, then it is a WW2 tank even if it didn't see combat. By that logic, T95 and Maus is not a WW2 tank then.

    After it started, it sounded just like my '67, 1275cc, Austin Mini Cooper S... OK, OK, not quite but that is what came to mind first.

    Centurions of the Indian Army emerged victorious against the Pattons of Pakistani military on many ocassions in the western front of the war in 1971. Not saying that the Pattons were any less or their operators less proficient.

      There used to be a kigas pump to help it start

      they do it warm the engine up only need to do it once a week

    That is definitely not how a Cent that is correctly maintained, starts. Three full pumps of the accelerator pedal, then feet off and crank, they start immediately and idle smoothly. This tank either needs a plug change or the ignition timing is out of adjustment. Overfuelling it didn't help, the vapourised fuel was emanating from the fishtails.

      Given this was designed during WWII it was probably the best MBT available post WWII. And why it sold 4,400 around the world. Its contemporaries were the M26 Pershing which became the later M46 Patton neither were as effective.
