Because the total3 chart for alts was at a major level of support and when BTC dipped, alts broke a critical level of support. When BTC goes sideways alts bleed and since BTC has been going sideways for a while. Alts were already at support so a small BTC dip was enough to push alts past the support line causing the crash.

Let's take a look at the fundamentals shall we? On 5 year time frame Bitcoin is in the process of a double top. What happened after a double top? Price falls. The top was already in. You were right about bull runs getting shorter. The top was in when Bitcoin hit 71k. It made a new all time high, nobody said it had to be a massive pump to the upside.
Double top and Bitcoin just broke the neckline. Clear sign of a bearish reversal and nothing more. The bull run is over. The stimulus checks is what drove the last bull run to crazy all time highs.......that's what's different this time. People don't have 30k to just drop on a hope and dream.

There's no way the top is in. I remember 2021. It was crazy! I had every coworker talking about crypto for at least a month prior to it (crypto) starting to break down.
