I love how the female medic says that people need to be guided out of these hard times… it makes perfect sense because so many people assume that everyone can do it themselves

    • @AllenTax

IKR. So many are expected to do by themselves. Little to no help by another. People. At least where I am are naturally defensive. More so to men. Who refuse to do any mental doctor help. Men who have higher suicide rate compared to women. Other big problems. Not supportive to LGBT+, fear & distrust to doctors, mental doctors. Costs to them are high & people don't or can't pay for it. That be to America's bad health system.

Sadly I think a lot of what we are seeing is a result of 12 years of Conservative rule (albeit the first 5 were a coalition with the Lib Dems).
But in terms of actually doing something to help someone else who may be in need this country has been getting steadily worse. Even more so since Johnson was elected.
The woman paramedic is so right, we should all stop thinking solely about ourselves and just try and be kinder, more considerate and much less ignorant.

She also said everyone ignores their own responsibility for things being bad and getting worse, don’t forget that part. And that’s true but people also sometimes need help to stop causing the bad, but they have to want to, can’t be forced into it...

The way I immediately started crying when the first young man admitted that he wished he’d died with his step mother. Grief and survivors guilt are painful monsters that we as young adults are ill prepared to endure. I hope he has gotten whatever help he needed and that he’s doing well now. Depending on when this was filmed he’s likely my age or a bit younger and my heart just absolutely breaks for him. I truly hope he’s in a better place

I know where the young lad is coming from. I was in a similar way (but not quite as bad, but still in a terrible place) in December when one of my best mates passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve and I found out on Christmas Day, he was only 30😣 I just felt numb with disbelief for about 2 months afterwards. I avoided drinking at all because I didn't want it to make me feel any worse than I was.

yeah it's hard losing someone :// not a human but i lost my dog who had been with me for 14 years -- i couldn't go home cuz of COVID restrictions so she passed without me being there. The feelings do come in waves. Sometimes i'm good and can talk about the happy memories i shared with her, sometimes I cry and grieve all over again. The important bit is to not only be kind to ourselves but to take steps to honour their memories

The nose one, at some point you need a mirror. I’ve done myself a mischief a few times & thought “ahhhh it’s fine” 1st one I remember was in primary school where I collided with a lass who wore glasses. I thought oh aye, bit sore by my right eye but it’s fine let’s keep going. It was only when the dinner ladies & then the school nurse started freaking I was a bit like…huh? Then they showed me in the mirror cause I was kicking off they wanted to phone my mam & have me sent to the hospital. Legit had ripped the skin on the outside of my eye open. Even after it all got sorted it really didn’t hurt at all, but seeing it I was like “OMG, FIX IT!! DO WHAT EVER BUT JUST FIX IT!!”

Right, about a year ago I was driving past an old woman when she fell over on the the foot path, she got back up but I stopped and asked if she was okay she said she was in pain. I was 5 minute drive from hospital.
I called 999 and the ambulance came.
She has snapped her pelvis and if I had taken her by car i could've killed her due to the injury.
That's why you call an ambulance because you just don't know what is happening and professional need to be the ones to make sure everything is okay.

Him saying "sorry" illustrates that he knows he was a massive idiot there, like millions of others who regularly get drunk. His circumstances are sad, but in general, I think people who get so drunk they need hospital care should be made to pay for any help they need. It's a stupid choice. It's not an accident to go out on a Friday night and get smashed to the point where you can hurt yourself and others.
