Kapelle Grüetzi Mitenand is a traditional Swiss Folk band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1996 by Swiss chef and accordionist Markus Zihlmann. Due to work commitments, the leadership of this fun group was taken over by clarinetist/saxophonist/arranger, John Wanner (who also has Swiss blood). The band expanded its' musical styles to include Swiss-based originals by John, as well as light popular and Jazz styles. The band can been seen regularly at the Swiss Club of Victoria on the first Thursday of every month -- 1st Floor, 89 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Australia - from 7.30pm. Entree is free. Thanks for your kind comments of appreciation. Despite not being a traditional Swiss tune, I just found the chord structure and melody was in total aliance of tradtional Swiss melodies and it just works so well in my band! Cheers, JW
