Samuel Najarro ridiculously overplayed. I've seen them dozens of times now & they went from a band that didn't feel the need to always play their most popular songs to now having the majority of the setlist being staples. Hell, if they dropped Digital Bath, Change, Summer, Drive, Rocket Skates, Swerve... i mean just drop 4 of those & you could vary the setlist. Last few years felt like they were still on the Diamond Eyes & KNY tour. It's fine for the casual fans but us die hards would love some variety
I still think this has got to be one of the craziest Deftones performances caught on pro shot... Chinos going nuts, Stephs rocking out hard, Chi's on his game and Abe just destroying the kit. They don't really get any more metal than this. Looks like the type of show where they woulda been wrecked the next day.

Anyways, seeing all of those live performances, I've only noticed Abe bust a drum head 2, maybe 3 times. After watching this, im extremely surprised that he doesn't bust multiple heads EACH SHOW. The way he plays during this show (and pretty much every show) is sooooooo intense. Whatever brand drum heads he uses definitely needs to sponsor him and use this video to market their drum heads

God I dont know what the Deftones were thinking with their setlists in 2003. I saw them @ Summer Sanitarium with Metallica. THey opened with Minerva and closed with Change. There was absolutely no energy due I believe to poor song selection. And here, they open with Change. Too slow man too slow. Took me back..
Tommy Gun Angel Nah watch Scuzz meets Deftones. They were miserable and hated each other during this time. Maybe the slower music kept them mellower than usual because apparently they needed it.
