    This looks REALLY cool! It looks so unique. Definitely going to be on the lookout for the KS!

    Very cool. I'm waiting on a prototype for yet another JRPG game one Dawnshade. Wonder what was in the water a year or two ago that got all these designers minds cooking!

      Oh nice! We are covering Dawnshade too. Though the designs are 100% different from what I've seen :)

    Oh man. I think I'm going to have to get over my dislike of controlling multiple characters, this looks pretty impressive. Hopefully they have good shipping to Asia...
    Thanks for the heads up! I know doing KS content is 'controversial,' but I always find it incredibly helpful and interesting. Thanks!

    • @OneStopCoopShop

      Is it controversial? I try to give a really clear picture of what I think is great about a game, and what I hope they improve, so I hope it never feels like I am just cheerleading for a game.
      This one was kind of special though, because I simply enjoyed it that much :)

    • @Gutock

      @@OneStopCoopShop I should be clearer when I write ;)
      I don't think it's controversial for this channel per se, I guess the Slack would alert you of that. Nah, I mean, in broader BGG media, Rahdo always has a vocal group that yells 'too much coverage of KS,' SUSD ran into issues with their 'no KS' policy until they broke it, Dice Tower gets called shills...
      I think no matter how well you do it, people are gonna complain. I love all KS coverage because I'm a BGG omnivore and love what the platform provides for some niches, but I worry that the people I like following (including you guys) get unnecessary flak for it.
      In any case, you guys did well with it, and being enthusiastic doesn't mean being compromised. Just wanted to offer some support and succor ;)

      @OneStopCoopShop  5 лет назад

      Ah, thanks for the details. That makes a lot of sense. I would assume many of the issues stem from concerns that they are being paid to cover the games (like Man vs Meeple), so hopefully our policies of transparency allay some of that!

    Thought I would post the Kickstarter video here in case folks are interested. The video is 99% done (A few audio blips to iron out), but I hope you see in it our total commitment to source material. ruclips.net/video/fSeUlUIYTSs/видео.html&lc=z22whv0qjnbtd5yy304t1aokg4h113njxo0cu1duuarfbk0h00410

    Phew. I'm glad I didn't back any of the other JRPG games, since this one's the best =D

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  5 лет назад +1

      David Ko I won’t claim that it’s a strictly better GAME than Middara. That’s a solid design (though I have issues with it).
      But it’s certainly a better JRPG homage than Middara.

    What is this black box game you have on your shelf's?
    Thanks.

    Hello, this is for 3 to 4 players? Thats what it says on the BGG page. Thanks

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  5 лет назад +1

      Definitely not. I know the designer personally prefers 4 player, because then each player controls a single character and can read their lines in the dialogue sections. But I can attest that solo and 2-player are great, and 3-player works fine too as long as you can share control of 1 character.

    Do we have a date for the KS? I’ve found August 2019 so far.

      27th! So a bit over a week away. I'll post my playthrough the same day, so you'll have a friendly OSCS reminder from me ;)

      Thank you so much for the response! I’m a fan by the way. Your 5 in 5 reviews are both useful and distinctive in an easily consumable format. I also appreciate the “unbiased” approach with the disclaimers. I learned today about your podcast and subscribed right away. You at definitely in my top 3 channels about gaming out there. Thanks again!

    So is it worth to back this and Adventure tactics?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  5 лет назад

      Ummmmmm... they are different. JRPG is more of a traditional JRPG (Final Fantasy and the like), while Adventure Tactics is more of a tactical or strategy RPG game. So you could totally get both, no problem.
      That said, I think the review makes it clear which one I prefer, even though the other one is fine!

    Clearly I haven't played the game yet, all I've seen is your video and the FB page, but nothing about this game screams JRPG to me.
    Art is very subjective and this game doesn't cut it for me, it reminds me of Adventure Time more than anything Japanese.
    I'll look forward to your play-through but at the moment the art is enough to make me pass, which will be a shame if the game is as good as your enthusiasm indicates :)

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  5 лет назад

      xris It is definitely a silly, positive parody/homage to the genre. Meta jokes about innkeepers all looking alike are the norm here.
      So the goofy art much better fits, in my opinion, than would some sort of serous JRPG fare. But this is subjective, like you said
