  • Florence is a small city at the mouth of the Siuslaw River, on the Oregon coast. Its vast Sea Lion Caves are home to Steller sea lions. Nearby, trails around the restored 19th-century Heceta Head Lighthouse offer views of seabirds and migrating whales. Shops and galleries fill the city’s Historic Old Town district. Across the river are the towering sand mounds of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.

This video gave me the kind of motion sickness that you only get from driving on Oregon’s coast.

Now I remember what it was like living on the coast; every once in a while I would have to stop the car and get out or have the person driving do so and I would get out of the car and take a break. Why? I would get motion sickness from being in a car.

Yep, everything looks the same. The only thing different is the casinos.

Definitely lost its small town appeal it had in the 70s.
    Tourist trap now.
    Glad I moved.
