This video shouldn't be called "Brian Blessed", it should be called "Sir Brian Blessed". I really can't understand how he's always overlooked for a Knighthood, he's one of our best and most popular Actor's. A Legend. Nuff Said.
It's a real shame they didn't find a role for him in a later, better series or the Christmas Carol. He set the joyously hammy tone for all the Blackadder guest parts that followed.
I didn't like the first series at first because Black Adder is like Mr. BEAN but its actually my fave now. The Witch Sneller Persuivant episode is brilliant
Brian Blessed - noun,: - mammal - an enormous wildebeest-sized chunk of raw charismatic magnificence, endowed by great intelligence, endless motivation and wisdom characterised by his comedic talent. NB. - luckily only one Brian Blessed is known to exist. The presence of more than one within the confines of our relatively tiny planet would create a stereo effect which would theoretically vapourise the Earth's atmosphere, set loose the dogs of war, and shatter the planet down to its very core - thus leading to Earth's violent and unavoidable destruction. As many years of research has shown,[see the works of the well known Professor #CENSORED#] whom I met when working at Area #CENSORED# in the state of the former Yugoslavia, such an event would most certainly cause an event akin to the death of a living cell; the instantaneous annihilation of all life and as a cherry on top of the cake, the remaining nitrogen atoms will be forced to bond with the remaining grenaldehyde, litrotosserpiperizine and ethylnitracitic acid, and along with the secret component of course - pubic hair, would henceforth create the inevitable unholy self-destruction - the inevitable annihilation of our entire galaxy and would cast mankind and all its accomplishments into the abyss.
@@kisbie Yeah. I watched the documentary on the series and they dunked so hard on the first season I was a little disappointed they didn't at least give him props for his insane performance.
The battle Rally scene is an iconic one of the series, that stays with you over many other good ones, And it's all because of brian Blessed giving such a rediculous good impression of someone rediclously pumped up to go into battle.10 seconds of brilliance, which i must have seen a dozen times and still makes me laugh.
Had Game of Thrones received the television treatment in the late 90s or early 2000s, he would have been the PERFECT King Robert. Hell, his battle cry in The Black Adder could still apply just as easily to the Battle of the Trident.
“And Jesus said unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy mind. This is the first and great Commandment and the second is like unto it; thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, that is unless he’s Turkish in which case kill the bastard. Upon these two Commandments rest the law and all of the Prophets.” - Matthew 22:34:40, King James V. Yep, it’s in there.
Who ever remember's him in Z Cars as PC Fancy Smith with Colin Welland Frank Winsor James Ellis and Stratford Johns? Great casting for a wonderful program!
THIS IS SPAAAAAAAAAARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
You're right, that is still awesome. But it's still a shame they didn't get Brian on. But hey, maybe he'll be in a role that we haven't thought of yet.
@AntiXaldin The trouble is he'll only be present in the first film/couple of episodes (which is it?) unless they did flashbacks. Which would fuck it up.
I can see why he became king. Wouldn't you follow a guy like that?
Especially the killing of Turks bit! XD

A Legend. Nuff Said.
Knighted for Services to beards and screaming
Oh man, its hard to quantify how great Brian Blessed is.
He was almost Odin...imagine the scene where he yells at Loki to shut him up, just about fifty times louder and more Brian Blessed.
Was he really?
I heard he was considered for Robert Baratheon but was too old
@@stefantaylor8785 One of Tywin's nephews was based on him.
I think Loki would have been blown off his feet.
As much as I didn't like the first series, Brian Blessed's performance was my favourite aspect. So many great lines.
It's a real shame they didn't find a role for him in a later, better series or the Christmas Carol. He set the joyously hammy tone for all the Blackadder guest parts that followed.

I honestly wish they had brought back Brian blessed in the later seasons.
The first ever human Krogan. XD

andy2382 norio wakamoto - aka japanese brian blessed
+andy2382 You fucked it up. It should be BRIAN BLESSED.
andy2382
... which is nice...
OMFG that would have been so awesome.
He is basically a real life Tormund.
BRIAN BLESSED
what a shame that Brian Blessed wasn't cast as Robert Baratheon in "Game of Thrones."
I know right! Also in the Christmas episode of Blackadder Robbie Coltrane plays The Ghost of Christmas present and looks exactly like hagrid
I admit, like everyone, that season 1 of Blackadder is lacking, but holy crap Brian Blessed is the best part of it.
Most of the characterisation was completely overhauled for the 2nd series, but Blessed's performance is absolutely in keeping with what followed.
@@kisbie Yeah. I watched the documentary on the series and they dunked so hard on the first season I was a little disappointed they didn't at least give him props for his insane performance.
These are great clips. When I think of Blessed, I always remember his Richard the IV on The Black Adder!
im turkish n tht still made me laugh lol
you people are doing it wrong, it's not Brian Blessed, it's BRIAN BLESSED.
such ignorance.
Indeed.
It's not BRIAN BLESSED, it's *BRIAN BLESSED.*
It's !!!B R I A N AAARGH B L E S S E D!!!
You have to have his name bold & in caps. A national treasure.
Well now that I've watched this I really want to DEEIIIIIIIIIVE into more of his work.
I would follow this man into battle anyday

Wow, BRIAN BLESSED is everything I imagined just from reading about him on TV Tropes!
GLORIOUS PERFORMANCE
Thanks so much for posting this - my two favourite quotes!
Gordon's alive!
There is no one else who's as high on life as BRIAN BLESSED.
He could have been a perfect Dain in the las Hobbit movie.
Can't handle the ham
Heard he might play King Dain in The Hobbit, which would undoubtedly be the most glorious day of my entire life.
He would be perfect for the role of king Robert in the Game of thrones XD
He was dubbed too old. He might have been had it been animated.
its the presence man, he fills up any scene he's in
This is now Robert Baratheon.
Why wasn't he cast as Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones?!
Because the universe would implode from how awesome he is!
Had Game of Thrones received the television treatment in the late 90s or early 2000s, he would have been the PERFECT King Robert. Hell, his battle cry in The Black Adder could still apply just as easily to the Battle of the Trident.
He definitely should have been in all Blackadder series!
Lol...knew I could find a clip of this.
Happy birthday, Brian! :)
bad day to be turkish
Brain Blessed is the only actor who can make major ham acting academy award worthy. Him and some other guy I don't remember.
“And Jesus said unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy mind. Yep, it’s in there.
Love Brian Blessed's performance in the first Black Adder series!
House Baratheon Ours Is The Fury
I swear, almost nobody can open their mouth as wide as he can...
Who ever remember's him in Z Cars as PC Fancy Smith with Colin Welland Frank Winsor James Ellis and Stratford Johns? Great casting for a wonderful program!
I LOVE IT
I love this man!!
he would play a perfect Babarossa for a film of the 3rd crusade!
He only needs 1 motto "DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Khorne has entered the chat.
Can you imagine him doing your GPS voice?
"LEEEFFFFTTT!"
SCREEEE, CRASH!
Couldn't agree more. He should've been Balin!
Now THAT'S a king!!
Im just imagining Brian Blessed walking into ANY chipshop in Britain, trying to explain this lol XD
Robert Baratheon in another life
Blessed is a god among men. A god among men.
DR. OZ WE'RE COMING FOR YOU
I think he would of made an awesome Beorn, he already play farmer giles in the bbc dramatization .:) which was pretty awesome in it self.
Ive always pictured him playing Tom Bombadil
Austin Arminio that would be pretty cool too actually.:)
+Austin Arminio The first time I read LotR his voice just popped into my head.
GoldStorm07 oh wow cool:) but as which chacter though for you?:)
Oh, Bombadil.
I WANT MY JAM SANDWICHES BACK
Is this why they got him for Kingdom Come Deliverance?!
oh well who wants to live forever.........DIVE
Brian’s full monster
Warhammer 2 total war brought me here Brian is now a Dwarf slayer Deity 🥰❤❤❤

WAR!
RUMPY-PUMPY!
TRIUMPH!!!
this man is a god on earth
Well aren't you a bloody genius.
BLOOD!!! WAR!!! RUMPY PUMPY!!!
I think the crew just secretly followed Brian around for a few days and built the show around him.
I want Brian Blessed voicing King K. Rool in a Donkey Kong movie.
I haven't watched the film for this and many reasons, chief amongst which is the fact that the dwarves resemble Disney Pixar cartoons.
love brian em rome total war game ;D
8 people had their gizzards slit
You're right, that is still awesome. But it's still a shame they didn't get Brian on. But hey, maybe he'll be in a role that we haven't thought of yet.
clearly they lowered the volume to the lowest lest your soul have been lost
I would have liked to see him as Gloin, or Dain but i can't wait to see Billy Conolly as Dain.
Wow, this guy does a good simon impression!
Am I the only one who think Brian Blessed should be the one to play Roberth Baratheon in the upcoming Game of Thrones?
Oh hey look it's Robert Baratheon.
No, that's Mark Addy. This guy is God.
Mark Addy is Robert Baratheon.
This isn't the hammy man you're looking for
i wish he would yell "I'm SPARTACUS"
A dwarf?! Surely you must be mad. He was born to play the part of Beorn.
IM BRIAN BLESSED !!!!
he was actually up for Dain Ironfoot but it didn't happen..the role went to billy connely which is still awesome.
Ham Ham Ham Ham _HAAAAAM, haamity-ham._
@AntiXaldin The trouble is he'll only be present in the first film/couple of episodes (which is it?) unless they did flashbacks. Which would fuck it up.
i would love to be stuck on capslock
I made the same comment to a friend a couple of weeks ago.
OH YES HILDEGARDE KEEP DOING THAT!
I think he was considered for the role of Beorn, who we'll see in The Desolation Of Smaug.
Did somebody order a LARGE HAM?
I am Dave ! Yognaut! *salute*
What a great beard
The Caps Lock button was invented specifically for Brian Blessed
SCRAMBLEEED!
...
*sigh*
Gordon's Alive!
He makes Billy Mays look like Fluttershy.
SGRev1 YOUR GOING TO LOVE ME!
