The Two Ronnies sketches never disappoint. They were so clever with wordplay and hidden meaning. Brilliant!
Ronnie Barker was the linguist of the team!
Your face was a picture!! The look of shock when the tea lady came in to the office. 😂😂
I wont go into detail, but it wasn't what you think on the eclairs. They are a choux (pronounced shoe) pastry with chocolate icing on top and fresh cream in the centre. It was the cream that had oozed out, when he pushed her onto them. He just fumbled her, but nothing else happened.
I had to laugh when he thought that lol
Mark 78 I thought I was hearing things when he said it. I thought it best to clear the matter up.
Love the Two Ronnies, grew up with them on TV, but by far the funniest part of this reaction vid was the look on your face! That was priceless! Thank you for the laugh - I needed it today!
The two Ronnies were sheer genius. Very clever.
They've taken a stereotype and totally mocked the stereotype here! So funny! A pity some of the commenters have taken some parts of the sketch out of context, and have forgot or don't know how risqué and shocking The Two Ronnies sometimes were! Nothing to do with attitudes and legalities!
I love that sketch, I laughed so hard when Ronnie Corbett tried to make him smile I nearly wet myself 🤣
The Two Ronnies were my late dad’s absolute favourites and I have many memories of watching their shows with him. They were hilarious 😆
Have to agree with LouLou here. Morecambe and wise breakfast sketch is so brilliant...the timing is sooo good! 👍😁
Also another music tradition to look at is “patter songs” from light comedy operas famous ones are “ the modern major general” and “ the list song from the mikado (there in an eric idle version). They are fast and jammed with rhyming words and the verses sometimes change between productions. Gilbert and Sullivan wrote ones which poked fun at the British government and institutions.
My grand father was in operatics as a hobby for over 50 years, you reacted to youll never walk alone this has a different meaning for me as its from the operetta “carousel “ which was the first and then the last production he performed in
You'll Never Walk Alone by Mormon Tabernacle Choir was performed at my Nana's funeral. I sympathise.
Also, yes to patter songs!
The best Morecambe and Wise sketch was the Andre (Preview) Previn one. He was a serious musician and conductor who had a brilliant sense of humour.
When Ronnie Baker does his father-in-law (drunk lol) at a wedding reception sketch is brilliant. Plus I absolutely adore the sketch where they are down the pub having an ordinary conversation and barker keeps trying to fill in the words that Corbett can't remember, has me in hysterics. They did a couple of them. Also barker as the American bearded country singer called big Louis denvers or something and when they do the ol' chas and Dave (uk singers) pub Christmas knee's up is always just so good...all my faves
She was asleep at the time! 😂
There was a joke that went around about thirty years ago "What do accountants and lawyers use for contraceptives? Their personalities." All the lawyers and accountants I knew had worked with someone who proved the theory.
Hahhaha Your face. Its briliant. 😂
I thought you would be doing a PO Box opening video today.
That was a good sketch and amazingly one I haven't seen before. :)
To be an accountant you have to possess a very logical personality & often the more serious types end up becoming accountants; the "two Ronnies" sketch is mocking that fact.
The squashed eclairs is telling us that Simpkins made mad passionate love to the tea lady in the manner he was advised to be his manager ...
I seems to remember that Monty Python did the same kind of sketch with the accountant who wanted to career-change to 'lion-tamer'!🤣
British comedy was usually very risque especially The Two Ronnies were never scared of tackling the saucy and crude it was never gratuitous though as they were always going out to a 8pm mainstream tv audience.
Yep,if Joel likes 1970s British risque comedy(apart from the obvious Benny Hill😊!),then lets see him test himself with 'petting' Mrs.Slocombe's cat😉!

There are so many hilarious British comedy’s, “ Open all hours” “Only fools and horses” “Dad’s Army” “ Faulty Towers”
FaWlty Towers
Hey. Have you checked out another comedy duo, Morecambe and Wise. They're kinda the same era. There's load of videos but their Mastermind sketch and The Breakfast sketch are the two that come to mind. I think you'd like them.
It was alleged Eric Morecambe had altercations with some of his guests off screen. I did find him irritating & I would never recommend them.
I liked Cannon & Ball.
@@jules.8443 I found Ball irritating.
I understand what you're saying but personally I never really got peoples' fascination with M&W,the one exception was when they had Andre Prevan on and Eric was playing the piano
Andre "no no you're playing all the wrong notes"
Eric "I'm playing all the right notes, maybe not in the right order but I'm playing all the right notes" or something along those lines.
@@bobbierocksbuster5584 Agreed. I can only put up with Morecambe and Wise in VERY small doses.
A good example of how what is, and what is not acceptable changes over time. What was meant to indicate how boring he was in bed (didn't even wake her) has a totally different connotation today.
However, there is much which is considered acceptable today which would have caused outrage back then. There are even differences between what is considered acceptable and what will be censored between the UK and the US. Watch the video for I want to break free by Queen which was banned in the US much to our amazement in the UK.
Another example would “relax” by frankie goes to Hollywood, that was considered obscene by some but is now pretty tame, thats worth a look JPS
"a totally different connotation today."
I don't see how: he screwed his wife while she was asleep. So ?
ronnie barker used to write a lot of sketches under the name gerald whiley and the producers never knew it was him until he confessed years later
And he did that so when the production team were choosing the sketches to do, they didn't favour the ones that were written by Ronnie Barker because they were his.
I like "Open All Night" with Mr. Arkwright,Granville & Nurse Gladys!
That's pìss taking English soh for you, that was "allowed" on TV when the kids were still up & awake (I was a kid) 😊.
Watch "Porridge" also, and Ronnie Barker aka "Norman Stanley Fletcher"... the guy deserves an Oscar. .. he's that good! 😉
Please react to yes prime minister, classic 80's comedy about the UK Government
I dated an accountant many years ago who was the life and soul of any party. He worked hard at not being a ''boring accountant'' but it didn't work in his favor.
My suggestion for great music is ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) tune Mr. Blue Sky & Last Train to London. Fleetwood Mac are good as well. Showing my age here, but good tunes from both groups.
Mr Blue Sky is my phone ringtone
@@helenagreenwood2305 Hi Helena, you have impeccable music taste. ELO are fantastic to me. A group that is truly great, dare I say on par with queen. Controversial here, but I am not a queen fan. Keep rocking & take care & thank you for the message.
Haha this is funnnyyyy.
You should totally react to “Educating Joey Essex” - so long as you know that not everybody in England is so…. ‘Joey’… 🙄
"The Play That Goes Wrong" performing at The Royal Variety Performance is worth your while. Also, I've suggested before skits from "Beyond The Fringe," particularly "The Great Train Robbery" or "The End Of The World." or "The Coal Miner."
So glad to see you have gone back to comedy. Do some more Two Ronnie's and Catherine Tate. I know you love Nan Taylor.
check out Ronnie Barker in open all hours and also porridge which is set in a prison.
I mentioned Morecombe and wise a few weeks ago too, you just might like them Joel, they are funny, the shows are from the 60s and 70s, I grew up watching the two Ronnie's they are hilarious 😂✌️👍
Great to see some old comedy again xx
Status Quo - Rock 'til You Drop Documentary, 5th October 1991 (Channel 4 Broadcast)
There is another famous accountant sketch by Monty Python. Worth checking out. Obviously being an accountant was not considered very exciting in the 70s and 80s, unlike now of course
Hello from Birmingham UK, I started watching your video's they are great, especially The Two Ronnie's. Please can you react to the Sheikh in the Grocery store and
Quick Indian cooking they are so funny. My parents are Indian and I couldn't stop laughing. They have so many more, enjoy and keep laughing. Best wishes.
You need to watch the sketch titled " 4 candles' !
Hey, It never fails to make me laugh, I used to have a friend we called Johnathon " the laughing Accountant " because we could put him in stitches dead easily. his favourite was "the phantom Raspberry blower " sketch. incidently i recently watched your interview with Eclectic Beard, have you considered doing another chat given that its been a long time since then? there was another youtuber who tried the Geoguessr game for the UK it would be fun to see you try maybe, he also did a try to guess british slang from his slang book by looking in the index then guessing that was really funny.
That was the "phantom raspberry blower of old London town" and it was absolutely hilarious....we loved that as children as it appealed to our childish daft sense of humour 🤣😂
@@luvuforeverjames we thought it hilarious, i remember in later years watching leslie nielsen showing the kind of humour, my brothers favourite was “the worm that turned”.
Incidentally 'The Phantom Raspberry Blower' was initially a rare, joint writing collaboration between Ronnie Barker and the great Spike Milligan😍
no there is no need too listen to any songs beforehand!!! Just watch the concert, trust me!! then listen to the songs you like afterwards!!!😁Ive heard Queen songs before, it was a hit and miss but I watched the concert I was blown away!!! please watch!!!✌😁
If you can find it, Morecombe and wise singing in the rain sketch, you will find it funny
The two Ronnies are hilarious love the fact that your reacting to some comedy and I can’t wait for you to react to Queen love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👏👏👏👏👍💞💞
(Showing my age here now, but I don't mind.) I was still in school in 1981. I was 15 till October that year.
Try “The McEnroe Home” sketch from Not The Nine O’Clock News
Check out the Smith and Jones Sales People Ayushi Hi fi sketch. Its very funny.
Just add a few suggestions I have made before for reaction, but not sure if your thing. They are BGT clips. Collebro (first audition), Calum Scott (fist audition) Susan Boyle First audition. Sora Japanese magician.
The Queen concert should be a 40k subs goal !
Try some more of our old school British humour, "Alo Alo", keeping up appearances, only fools and horses, dads army, faulty towers, vicar of dibley, there are so many if you're not too PC.
Hi JPS, there is a classic UK comedy series , Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. It's from the 1980s and shows a working relationship between a Government Minister and the Public Servant. It's different because it's not about swearing and things. It's uses clever words and behaviour. An example, is this clip about an underwater tunnel between England and France.
ruclips.net/video/iDan7_4g8R4/видео.html
This series , whilst it's old , amazingly some of the references, themes and issues are still relevant these days.
Classic comedy but not sure it would be of much interest to Joel or the channel really, a bit slow and stuffy compared to more recent comedy (unfortunateley)
This would never fly today
I have a friend who WAS an accountant and he WAS boring. He got out of it and is now a school teacher. He teaches math's and science. to high school student's aged 11 to 16. He isn't as boring now.
And if you looking at something a little different there was s comedy series called “still game” which is Scottish about pensioners in glasgow who live in a block of flats, there are some best of compilations on youtube to see what you think
A squashed chocolate eclair.
Certainly seems like accountancy would certainly attract purely information driven types of people, & they would of course range in their level of boringness, certainly more than a mechanics would.
But then you get into your formula 1 racing & there's going to be some data driven types there with their own boring or socially awkward range, but at least there's something of interest to most people in an engineering background
LOL - great stuff - Did you ever finish the Bob Mortimer Would I Lie to You clips (*Mortimerian Tales)?
Dark side of the moon - pink floyd
Tomorrow's kitchen
The archaeologists sketch
Have you reacted to the British Comedians Morecombe & Wise sketch with Andre Previn?
I can't remember if you have reacted to their sweet shop sketch? I have watched so many RUclipsr's react to it and can't remember if you did. I still like watching the sketch.
try checking Morecambe and Wise
It is brilliant
How do you search for previous videos
I hope you react to the live aid concert, also the side by side movie/live aid of Bohemian Rhapsody
If you'd like you would like another group to listen to I'd suggest Home Free, an acapella group, i.e. no instruments. Just about anything from them but I'd recommend Man of Constant Sorrow followed by When a Man Loves a Woman
You should react to Open All Hours with Ronnie Barker & David Jason, it's hilarious.😂😂😂👌 Or Morecambe & wise they're hilarious too.👍🎵😺💣🌹🎈🎈🎸💣
Joel - I don’t think you really get the comedy here do you?
It's a British thing I think a lot of Americans don't get our humour we take the piss out of each other but then buy each other pints lol
No, I don't think he does, but then he is young, and never been here. I think our societies are slightly different.
I don't think he quite recognised the 'chocolate eclair' at the end? LOL ! 😃
@@stewedfishproductions7959 - that’s right. I think he wrongly assumed that the cream on the eclair was something else! The comedy there was that the eclair was squashed because of the weight of Ronnie Barker’s character who had just made love to the waitress on the trolly.
@@markscouler2534 He clearly hadn't got a clue what was going on at all. It's a total waste of time him watching things like this.
Should react to 'swear box' by the two Ronnnies. You will find it very funny.
Hi, I love watching your RUclips videos, u really need to watch an episode of open all hours, Ronnie barker is so funny in it. 🤣
Watch Ronnie Barker in Porridge he is so funny
Try Fawlty Towers with John Clease
Don’t know weather you have checked out kenny Everett but do his different characters are funny was watching him as Cupid stunt the other day very funny
The Two Ronnie were brilliant. Used to watch as a youngster. We had it good in the 70’s & early 80’s for culture & entertainment. Sadly, the standard is dreadful now.
Hi Joel, as you are doing Comedy and music reactions, you might want to check out Tim Minchin, brilliant singer/song writer, musician, comedian and everything else, very funny and serious at the same time, other reactors on here love him
if some of your friends are upto it then having them react with you again may be interesting especially if youve both not seen it.
I can appreciate the appeal of accountancy. It's like solving a good puzzle. It's definitely not for me, though!
Four candles…
😀Where is the video for you trying the chocolates in last weeks PO box????? 😀
All these 2 Ronnies clips are the same one:
'The Ronnie Barker Bore!'
Much funnier is THIS ultimate (and all you need) Two Ronnies sketch:
ruclips.net/video/gSuAhVoic2I/видео.html
Sooo funny, that Ronnie Barker demanded that the BBC sack them all!
I work in accounts and am not boring lol!
Accountants boring ?... that doesn't add up. PMSL. Good old clean humour from those two.
I suspect one or two of those lines would not pass muster these days!
A Bit of Fry and Laurie: The hedge sketch - ruclips.net/video/Kr9BkJ4jha8/видео.html
If you want to see something completly different, check out "Mrs Browns Boys".
TASKMASTER
Have you checked laughs from the past!!!
could you pls react to the Concorde, a supersonic passenger plane made by the British and French government. thanks!
Argentina racing pigeon
Have a look at Les Dawson.
Yes Minister first before Prime Minister.
I must say that the approximation of your viewing regarding as such documented visually recorded elements of such British culture an television humour from an American point of view, has been adequately expected that i have come to the conclusion that such a person in his early adulthood such as yourself, has thoroughly gained what is called an Anglophile, and as such is the approximation of further future viewing of British cultures, customs and the genres of comedy and music, therefore qualifies one such as yourself,of foreign means,to become an honourary British member of this social media which has become globally known as youtube and as zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
🤣🤣😂
He boarded the wife to sleep, I suppose
oh i will pester you to react to john miles song music live proms 2001
You have to watch this one - ruclips.net/video/ij5mw_eqKuc/видео.html
React to Prince Philip's funeral
Check out Ronnie's insurance against becoming a jew
Hey hope your ok sound a bit flat and sniffy
Haa haa l'm an accountant retired now but believe me it's anything but boring lol
You appear to be suffering from Omicron. Get well soon.
You seemed a bit underwhelmed by that sketch. Don’t take it too literally that’s the key with Vintage British humour
That was kind of odd actually, but it's old, and unlike the 2 Ronnies, not very funny apart from the poop cushion ..I guess it was like 40 years ago so humor changes
First?
🏆😉
