Excellent video. Gets the speed and intensity of the game right, without distorting the width of the court too much through a narrow angle camera. Thanks
Thanks - great to be so close.. Pity that the quality of PSA live is not as good.. They should add a third level so that those who have the bandwidth can see the squash at 720P. Cheers..
I used to play with Darren's dad Paul at Felsted school and one evening he brought darren over with him and he played a few of us including me.I managed to beat him 3-2 but he was only 13 years old,but what a player. That's my claim to fame.
Not bad ! There should be a channel ( or Social media page? ) called "Claim to Fame" to let us skite on of our odd brushes with the well known. I would certainly include playing a real game with Daryl Selby as up there with the best. My only moment was shaking hands with Idi Amin but I guess thats down there with the worst.
@@us-Bahn I have a good friend who as a student befriended an elderly research lepidopterist ( my friend was researching mating procedures of red deer ). It was only when the internet arrived and, now elderly himself, he checked the guy out and found his "friend" had done 10 years as a convicted Nazi war criminal. Which puts ME at two degrees of separation..... oh the fame of it. ;-)
I know this is a bit old now but do you by any chance have more footage of Ramy in this tournament? that was some great footage especially the lower angle!
I don't understand the Let call at 5:37. If Daryl is blocking Ramy's view of the front wall, shouldn't is be a stroke? If someone could explain, thanks.
Bit confused about the foot fault rule here...is it not played anymore? Ramy seems to serve now and then with his foot outside of the box. Anybody shed light on why this isn't pulled up? Cheers!
@danielbegin1 in the position Ramy was in he could only really hit a boast or a straight drive, so Daryl was in a fine position really. That kind of let happens quite a bit.
You have to keep 1 foot in the box. Ramy drags his toe out and makes contact with the ball while his toe is still in the box. Or at leas thats the thought. The referees probably arent looking at if his foot is out of the box a half inch
RAMY WOULD BE GIVEN A STROKE IF HE WAS IN A CLEAR POSITION TO MAKE A WINNING SHOT, THIS TYPE OF SITUATION OCCURS QUITE OFTEN AND A LET IS THE USUAL RESPOSE

Thank you.... lovely coverage
I reckon its about time people get passionate about squash, should attract more people to this glorious game.
Great post - thanks!

Great squash all around... would love to see them play sometime!

@@japeking1 Idi Amin. Not too shabby. Now if you could say you shook hands with both Idi Amin & Pol Pot that would be quite a claim.

@@jackieking1522 2° of separation from a nazi war criminal would have been enough to save a soul in ‘33-‘45
Such excellent squash with no controversy lots of contrast that with some modern players!

It's because the ball is returning from the back wall..

Gotcha...cool. Thanks!
when he throws the ball up his foots in, not too strict
clever first shot to finish the really by ashour, takes pace of ball and hits simple straight drive
what happened? 5:35

Because he didn't take the ball at it's high point. He let it get to the back wall before the act of a swing. Plus he new it wasn't a point.

@tanookiguy let ball
great claim to fame no one knows who you are today
Wow since when did they let the lower class people watch ? Shouting out "comon daryl" is not acceptable during a point!?
And this is why squash is a failing sport.
great video
