- Faro Airport (FAO) is located in the central Algarve, the most southern region of Portugal. It is also known as Algarve airport and represents the main passenger hub and tourist gateway to the region. It's the third largest external entrance of passengers in Portugal after Lisbon and Porto airports. The Airport Shuttle bus service is the cheapest way to go Faro Airport from the City centre. Cost 2.35 Euro.
The airport operates international and domestic flights, mainly tourist-oriented and with seasonal peaks. It processes more than 40 000 flights annually and most of the air traffic occurs between March and October, especially during the summer months when thousands of tourists - mainly from the United Kingdom, choose the Algarve and southern Spain for their holidays.

Were the security lines too long? My flight is at 12:30 and the earliest I can meet it at the airpot is at 11 am.. local flight! I wanna make sure I can make it to the plane… I’m panicking
It will take around 30 minutes. Sometimes the queue lines is long. But if have less time, you can request the security to make quick pass for you and they will do it. Don’t need to be panic. You have enough time to catch your plane. ✈️. Have a nice journey.

I hear that the passport control after security takes forever. Did you have any problems with this?
If your destination is UK or outside country of Schengen area then you have to face passport control. 🛂 But if your destination is within Schengen countries, then there is no passport control. For this, they have different control section.

Hi, the last service is 12:10 am. So you can take the bus. If you miss the last one, the Taxi is must.

Hallo, the best and cheap way is train. There is a one kind of direct train from Faro to Lagos via Albufera, Portimao and vice Verza. It will take 1h 30min around. This is most reliable and most of the Tourist use it.
You can call also Uber, cost will be around 80 Euro but it may difficult to find someone in this long distance.
Some thing to add here. After landing airport, you have to come first in the Faro city Center to take this train. There is no connection directly from Airport.

Ja, but you should have reason. If you have less time for departure, you can ask for it. Faro is a tourist city so they are aware of waiting. You will need less time for security in Faro.

Hi, the best way is to take Uber or Bolt service which takes around 35-40 min and cost will be around 35-40 euro, depends on time & traffic. Another cheap way is to take first Aeroporto Bus to go city center then you can take 4/9 number bus which will take you close to your hotel but it will take long time, around 1h 30 min+.
