I wonder if Alex has a need for campground hookups for family? It wouldn't be a bad cost if he could work with heavy equipment himself (Or get volunteer labor).
Agreed, Hans and Zinovia are such an enjoyable "natural pair"! Perhaps you know they each have their own YT channels: Hans - Helping Hans Zinovia - Zinovia McQuitty
Well that was fun to watch! Especially seeing Hans and Zenovia, it felt like old home week! This is an intriguing project - I’m really looking forward to seeing how it develops. ❤️
Very cool! You never cease to find great adventures. Thank you for bringing us along. SOOoooooo good to see Hans and Zenovia!!! I haven't seen them in months.
Here over in the U.K. it was Roald Dahl day this week (13th September). It got forgotten a bit this year following Her Majesty’s death, but seeing our favourite Viking reminded me of a Dahl quote that I love. "I think probably kindness is my number one attribute in a human being. I’ll put it before any of the things like courage or bravery or generosity or anything else." “Kindness-that simple word. To be kind-it covers everything, to my mind. If you’re kind that’s it.” You exemplify that, Alex. Every time I see your titles, I remember what we did for our dear Hans, led by you. It’s a good feeling.
How nice to see Hans and Zinovia!!! I am pleased we are going to be seeing more of them as they help out with your foresting/landscaping adventures!!! 😁❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏👍🇨🇦
Interesting find for sure . They must have had a purpose at one time because to build that was a lot of work. That should look lovely once you get the creek area cleaned up. Nice to see Hans and Zinovia . He should make short work of those trees. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Alex have you considered checking with the local governmental office to see if there are any old aerial photographs of your property? You may also try flying a Drone over your land to see if a new perspective might reveal something you are not seeing at ground level.
There's a RUclipsr that goes thru old photos/maps to locate where old outhouses used to stand (from late 1800s to the early 1900s) and digs them out, finding bottles and plates, marbles and shoes, etc . . . It's fascinating. Alex should hunt down the old outhouse pit.
THIS LOOKS LIKE A SERIES ! I LOVE EXPLORING THE WOODS AS A KID AND DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE! MUCH LOV💗💗💗💗💚💗💗
❣️Another EXCITING adventure❣️ LOVE that you and Melissa have been blessed with this beautiful land to enjoy and explore. How many acres❓ LOVE the privacy and entire WOODS with WATER environment❣️Oooh, that 🌹Rose-lined WALKWAY❣️ The CREEK❣️ Rosehips have health benefits. Those beauties seem plentiful! Not much better to me than to soak in the sweet simple beauty of God’s creation in nature. Artistry at its finest. Thank you for sharing your peaceful paradise. Lovely.💜🦋💘
I love this, mystery land, how about Alex, you take a break from the usual, and really get in and delve into this bush and keep trying to uncover . It's obvious that there is ALOT going on with this property that has been forgotten. What a fantastic thing to have, for a family to slowly uncover some kind of history.
Alex, I am so jealous of these discoveries you are finding! That is one of my favorite activities. You just gave me a new goal. Can't wait to see things reappear as you continue clearing the area.
Have you ever come across mudlarking? There’s a wonderful channel hosted by Nicola White, where she finds lost treasures on the foreshore of the river Thames, then researches their history. Enjoy!
Alexander, what you need is what we in the lower 48 call a brush hog. It is much like a lawn mower but industrial grade. the blades are much heavier and stouter. Good luck with the project and I am waiting with bated breath to see how it turns out.
I love these kind of episodes! I honestly wish you could do them more! It's so fun! No matter what is happening irl, I can disappear for a few moments! Thank you. 😊
Alex, You always find the most amazing things. Now a mystery adventure in your own back yard. The space that you have cleared looks so nice, inviting one to take a walk. So another adventure begins. I look forward to seeing it unfold. 😀😀😀
I am so happy that you have the time to enjoy your property BUT seen your friends was such a great surprise. Can you have a “live” talk with them, Josh and Dakota? That will be so much fun for us to be able to see all of you together again and say hi at the same time. BTW, you look very relaxed 😎
This is such fun watching you discover and improve your property. That could be a lovely area with some sweat investment and time. Those roses may not be wild? Maybe planted many years ago by a lady from another time. They can be very hearty and survive for many years with all the protection from the trees and underbrush. I just love this!
Hi Alex, It would be very nice to see more of your back yard adventures! Sooo good to see Hans ann Zenovia! God bless and take care from California. Perhaps buy a weed wacker for cleanup and upkeep after cleanup. Perhaps a metal detector for pipe detection and finding treasures.
Great to see Hans and Zenobia. So happy they’re doing well. You mentioned that a neighbor had landscaped their portion of the creek. Would they allow you to video it and give us an idea of what you’re striving for. Living on the Sonoran Desert floor Arizona, all my life, the thought of cutting down a tree 🌲 is devastating. If it grows a gives shade you keep it. We just lost a 52 year old, 45’ tall pine in a monsoon storm that fell from our front yard, across the street and crushed our neighbors 2 cars. Thank you to God no one was injured. The next week we lost half of our 4 year old roof in another storm. Praising God again for keeping people safe. It’s odd to look at water pouring in your home. But a peek into your plans would be wonderful. Do you need to worry about wildfires?
A sidewalk to somewhere is an exciting find! Use your imagination!!! What a great adventure and you didn’t even have to leave your property!!! 😁❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏👍🇨🇦
Nice! I bought a house on 3 acres of farmland in January 2021. There are trails on half of my property that I groom. My grandbabies, pups, wildlife, and I love it! So fun! Excited for your discoveries! My next toy will be a metal detector!
I was just thinking I miss seeing Hans and Zenovia and here they are! So good to see them again. Alex, keep following the rose bushes. Whenever you are in a wild area you can often find old homesites by paying attention to the plants, shrubs and trees.
More adventures ...love it....you sure have a nice piece of property to explore and make "your own lil piece of paradise!" Nice to see Zanovia & Hans too...and a peek of Melissa...smiles....till next time....keep care of you & yours! 💞
What a find Alex, that back area will be a lovely spot. I look forward to seeing what Melissa might find to forage in there next year (rosehips are a good source of vitamin c & are a good addition to apple pies but the hairs in them are a pain) & Great to see H & Z The MIL won't be able to burn that wood this winter, it needs to season for several months + to dry out fully before burning
Great wood to age, for sure!-because if you burn it with high moisture content, it creates creosote in chimneys, as well as not burning efficiently to put off heat like dry wood does. It needs 6 mo. to 1 year to “cure”. Definitely worth cutting and stacking under shelter at your MIL’s place to dry fur next year !🤗
That must have been a beautiful path lined with roses, can you imagine? I worry that there are snakes around Alex, I hope you will be careful. The rocks you gathered, could you use them to make a fire pit in the clearing instead of taking them to the dump? I can't wait to find out where the path leads to. 🥰
I always love to see Hans and Zinovia - they remind me _so much_ of a couple we are friends with here in WA. They're so much fun to be around. Thanks for another little adventure!
Mystery surrounds you. Alberta Alexander and the Curious Stone Steps. Good to see Zenovia and Hans join the expedition. Hope for some answers before winter snow buries it all til next May. Stay well Archbold crew.
Yes, especially if they dug out a little pond there in the creek! Maybe 3-5 meters across and 6-8 meters long, along the creek. Maybe 2-3 meters deep. They could possibly have a little fish pond during summer months or find a way to cover and insulate it during the winter and have a year round thing.
What a great episode, made all the better for seeing Hans and Zenovia. They really are very special folks! I love how you find a use for everything - I really relate to that! Planning to use the cut timber for your Mum-in-law’s winter heating is just down my street. This exploration of the woods took me right back to childhood, and ‘discovering’ the hidden secrets in a wood where my friends and I used to play. That was sixty years ago, but is still as clear as if it were yesterday. Sending love to you all!
Please save the pump! Maybe you can pull it upright. It would add to the area you want to be picturesque. It's very cool to have such a pretty area. I have to add, it made me so happy to hear Han's laugh and to see him and Zinova!
Hi really enjoy your videos. I love your whole family and all of your friends. It was great seeing Hans and zenovia. I love all the interesting things you do. Keep the videos coming. I can't wait to see them every time. And thank you so much for sharing with everyone. Give my love to your whole family and to yourself.
What an intriguing discovery! And roses! Can't wait to find out more and see the creek revealed; that will make such a lovely, peaceful retreat. Hello, H and Z!
When I was a kid, running free on a Wisconsin farm, there was so much to explore! Old railroad ties under our driveway, remains of a depot in the neighbor's property. So much fun! What a joy to see you "kids" on another adventure.
It will be so nice to see the rose walk next summer, in bloom ! And wonderful to have Hans and Zinovia here for a few episodes while you set up a creek view scene. So interesting and calming to be out in the woods ! You could put up trail cams and show us what kind of wildlife comes around to your property. There will be more once you clean up the creek and get it free flowing again. Just think of the myriad little creatures that use that beam to cross to the other side, you must put it back if you move it, because the little animals will remember where to cross. Love it ! You are so blessed to have your family and a beautiful home and property to explore ! ♥️ 🕊️ 🇨🇦
oh, what fun! Well fun for us to watch, a lot of hard work for you! Can't wait to see it all cleared out and the creek exposed... what a beautiful property! And a mystery thrown in for excitement, only you would buy a place that holds such discoveries!
Wow, you certainly got a piece of land with lots of surprises. I love creeks. I have always lived with a creek in my backyard. Just the sound of water is beautiful. Can't wait to see where the mystery stairs go.
Bunkers are one of the first things survivalist work on. I have to think the guy was at least working on building one if he didn't succeed entirely. You might want to check the local museum archives, the other possibility is that there was a dwelling of some sort way in the past. Maybe in the early settlement days up to the 1930s? The wild Roses can be tamed, they just need to be cut back a bit if you want to make them fuller. Always good to see Hans and Zinovia again.
Oh yes, multi-floral rose was the bane of my grandfather's existence in Pennsylvania. The previous owner had lined the whole property with it (to keep in goats) and it had gotten out of hand. My grandfather spent years ploughing it up, tearing it out, only to find it coming back in the next year!
I had a friend who could look at the vegetation on an empty piece of land and figure out that a structure once stood on it. He’d say look they they planted around a walkway here. Look at the tree line, it’s in a row. Pretty cool
i envy that you get to clear up the woodlands and discover paths, old rose bushes, and a creek that can be beautifully landscaped. I love transforming over grown areas. That pump house needs to be saved, uprighted, secured, and become a place for Wisteria to climb. I'd build little areas for fairy houses (save the twigs!), doorways and stairs on the trees, and use gorgeous plants of different colors to liven up the area. Can I please come live with you? LOL!
Reminds me of my parents house, it was built in the 40s, they bought it in the 90s. Mom wanted some stone paths around the house and yard, we got ready to clear the dirt and lay stones when we started uncovering sidewalks and paths already there. We were so happy. Just got busy clearing off the dirt, and regrowing the flowers beds, looked so nice when we were all done. And mom was really happy.
Finding where that sidewalk goes seems like it could be a fun family adventure. You could have fun while getting a bit more of the path cleared out. Of course, you'd have to create some excitement about the mystery of it all in order to get the whole family excited about it. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
That back clearing looks like your very own campground. Fire pit, picnic table, and the kids can pitch a tent with their friends on warm evenings.
Thats exactly what I thought too. 🙌
I wonder if Alex has a need for campground hookups for family? It wouldn't be a bad cost if he could work with heavy equipment himself (Or get volunteer labor).
LIDAR!
Seeing Hans again is like old home week! I have missed those two! 👍🏼♥️🇨🇦
Property looks awesome! Maybe metal detect once cleared out?
I second that idea!
It was GREAT to see Hans and Zenobia again!!

Well that was fun to watch! Especially seeing Hans and Zenovia, it felt like old home week! This is an intriguing project - I’m really looking forward to seeing how it develops. ❤️
I was thinking about Hans last night, and he is in this video. Made me smile so big. I am glad he and Zenovia are doing well.
So nice to see Hans and Zenovia!! It's been a long time.
They are looking healthy and hearty!
So glad.
Very cool! You never cease to find great adventures. Thank you for bringing us along. SOOoooooo good to see Hans and Zenovia!!! I haven't seen them in months.
How lovely to see Hans and Zenovia again , ☺️ it’s going to look so pretty when it’s all cleared
That land is the best purchase ever. Everytime I think you're not gonna find something weird buried back there, new things continue to turn up.
Definitely the perfect property for Alex and family!
I'm waiting for him to find human remains :)

It seems apparent roses were planted along the staircase. Would finding other rose plants help you discover where the path continues?
follow the yellow brick rose
How nice to see Hans and Zinovia!!! I am pleased we are going to be seeing more of them as they help out with your foresting/landscaping adventures!!! 😁❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶👏👏👏👍🇨🇦
Beautiful property, ♥️ nice to see Hans and Zenovia
Your property is so nice. You guys are always improving things. Great to see Hans & Genovia too💕

So nice to see Hans and Zenovia again. Such a curiosity! To find a path through your property! Always an interesting video! Thank you!
I grew up on a 1,000 acre ranch and often found old structure remains, pathways, and pens as I rode my horse around. Glimpses of previous lives.

@@ncousins2688 There are rattlesnakes in the southern part of Alberta, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge but only garter snakes otherwise.

The pump house upright would make a cool climbing structure. It still looks pretty sturdy.
Yes, especially if they dug out a little pond there in the creek! Maybe 3-5 meters across and 6-8 meters long, along the creek. Maybe 2-3 meters deep. Roses appear to be multi-floral roses. Once used as “natural” fences. Very invasive in Wisconsin wooded pastures.

What a lovely staircase; a wonderful balance between wild and welcoming. So excited for future updates.
Love watching you clear this area!
Finding where that sidewalk goes seems like it could be a fun family adventure. You could have fun while getting a bit more of the path cleared out. Of course, you'd have to create some excitement about the mystery of it all in order to get the whole family excited about it. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
