When you bar a cord do you put your finger across the middle of the fret or on the metal bar ?

Close to the metal bar but not exactly on top of it. The middle of the fret would work too.

You don't move the shape DOWN (0:21) to fret 3 &4....you move it UP to fret 3 & 4.
