“Why’d you have to make me older?” This line got me because clearly it applies to her life in the spotlight, but also just in general when anyone has been victimized they’ve felt like they have their childhood taken. Anyways, amazing song & message.
Yes. This song is also about her parents, when they were in the middle of their divorce. That saying can also be applied to her parents fighting & what not, when you’re in that type of environment, especially with a younger sibling you kind of have to grow up a bit.

This line hit me kinda hard when I first heard it. My parents got divorced when I was 9 and i lost more than a couple people all before 10. I didn't really get that much of a childhood and my brother's needed me to be strong for them, so I stepped up. Our situations are differnt, but I felt what she was saying. Even now, like 6 years later, i'm still expected to stay together and be a adult even as a teen. it's not like I can go back, and it sucks.
